A lot of speculation nationally and here in KC that Mahomes didn't actually have a concussion, he just blacked out because of the accidental chokehold on the tackle. He's in the protocol so they'll know more in a few days. But I'm hoping he's back.

 

Hope Mahomes turns out to be okay and healthy. I'm sure we all agree that him playing this Sunday is secondary to his current and long term health, but of course we hope he can play.

Why wouldn’t he have been released back into the game? I would assume he passed all the concussion protocols to return if it was just a choke out. Though it did look pretty bad and they chose to play it safe.

 

Because one of the no go rules in the concussion protocol is if you lose consciousness or black out, you can't go back in. Doesn't matter if you have a concussion or just passed out, you're out because of caution. Which is right.

 

McVay seems fed up with Goff. I would be too. They can't cut him because they wouldn't save anything by doing so.

They should find someone to compete, someone cheap who just wants an opportunity to win the starting job. So Tyrod Taylor, Cam, Brissett, Dalton, Winston. Someone like that.

Watson just tweeted out urging fans not to march in Houston on his behalf because of the surging COVID cases.

 

Apparently Watson wants them to re-sign Will Fuller.

That puts the Texans in a tough position. I wouldn't want to re-sign Fuller. He's never played more than the 14 games he played his rookie season. He's missed 27 games in five seasons. He's currently on a PED suspension and will miss the first game next season. He's had bad cases of the drops, though he's gotten better. He hasn't been super productive when he has played, averaging 58 ypg. But if signing Fuller keeps Watson around, then you have to do it. Just give yourself outs in his contract. Not too much in guarantees, no injury guarantees, voidable for suspension, etc.

Apparently the Lions are hiring Aaron Glenn from the Saints to be the DC.

I can never be confident that anyone will be successful here, but he was a very smart and had outstanding technique. I like the hire.

 

Per Adam Schefter, although Mahomes is in the concussion protocol he apparently passed some important milestones yesterday and is expected to practice tomorrow most likely.

Sounds like reports of it being a brachial stun not a concussion are probably correct.
