The Chiss are too blue. IIRC, Thrawn was described as having a faint bluish hue to his skin.

I am keen to read this book. Maybe it will counter the wretched taste of someone taking advantage of you that the Dark Nest books leave.

I am just sick of the Chak Fel mystery - is he a son of Baron Soontir Fel or is another Fel (Soontir's brother, cousin, uncle whatever involved). Since Zahn introduced Chak Fel in SQ and insisted that he's not Davin I wondered if he would clear this up in OF

 

Seeing that Outbound Flight is set a good 50 years before SQ, I think that's highly unlikely.

 

I usualy HATE Zahn books, but I read the little sneak peek thingy, and I was really interested. It wasnt boring for a change, so I plan on buying this book.

Well, I know I'm interested; but I'm waiting for (a.) the book, and (b.) anything interesting to happen in the thread...

Well, walmart.com, notorious for shipping books early, doesn't even have the book up on its website. If it is I can't find it.

Where are the spoilers?

 

Yes, yes, spoil us with an ending we already know. Perhaps we'll see the young Negotiator and his younger scruff battle deadly droidekas against impossible odds, which we're supposed to empath with bated breath, all the while knowing bat and brat live tomorrow. And sweet Lorena's mum that you guys call mom for some reason and more Palpatine cackling, all proceeds as foreseen. Car'diss didn't begin his predatory expansion until after his first Yoda meet, so perhaps he's more sombre here. That would make him the same character-personality as Karrde, so I anticipate his template clones with just the same name change again, as all his books seem to do. Truth be told, actually, I wouldn't know, for I won't be even shop flicking this one.

I am interested in how he'll manage his repetitive Impstar opening, I admit, and the ending pages, to see if the SQ players get their answers, and how.

 

Man, I can't wait for this book. Zahn writes a great Obi-Wan Kenobi.

 

I don't know why, but when I read the excerpt at the end of TUQ, I kept on thinking that Maris could be Pellaeon's kid sister or cousin. Dunno.

 

Wait a minute. Wal-Mart gets Star Wars hardcovers? Why doesn't my local Wal-Mart ever have them?????

 

Maybe we do know how it ends (more or less), but we knew how ROTS ended, too. Did you go see that?

I finished the book

Here's what happened

Obi-Wan and Anakin got away and didn't die
Thrawn destroyed Outbound Flight and didn't die
Outbound Flight was downed but some of the passengers survived.

I'd never have guessed! What's the action like? For the first half of SQ, a cable swung at Luke, and Mara climbed ornaments to the ceiling.

No...really? Anakin doesn't die?

 

In the excerpt in TUQ, it was mentioned that the Chiss knew some trade languages - I wonder if Zahn will mention how exactly the Chiss learned even those languages. I was under the impression that the Chiss did not trade with outsiders at all.

At least this book will answer some questions of Chiss society.

And I've read somewhere, though I have no idea if this is true or not, that Thrawn has a brother.

 

Darn!

All of my predictions are wrong! And--wait a second, Thrawn didn't die with Outbound Flight? Nor did Obi-Wan?!

 

What I want to know is if the Chiss will wear those camoflouge armour suits from the Swarm War, what about those maser beams and megacannon. I want to know what kind of fighting will be written in this story.
