It's not a sequel at all for me. Not in any cannonical sense. I see no logical reason why it should be. It's simply its own Star Wars (branded) thing, along with everything that comes after, bad or good.

Ah, okay, I don't know much about stuff like that, admittedly. I was torn between watching this and finishing Season 4 of Rebels, but I chose this for now

 

I would still say that the battles of Geonosis, Naboo, and Coruscant are better

 

Good point. Once they threw out Lucas’s outlines, they threw out their connection to canon. The new films do not exist in the same universe.

 

That’s okay; different opinions is all. And we’ll always have Snorkel.

 

I’m not sure what my unpopular opinion is.

Considering how despising the ST is quite common I don’t think that would be unpopular- Maybe that my preferred order to introduce anyone Star Wars and to watch is 1-6. This rarely gets championed, or at least it wasn’t when I last checked.

On watching again TLJ... sorry, nope, not on my lifetime.

Also, don’t agree with Lord Dandy about the Prophecy- one of the main reasons I always thought Dark Empire was the worst thing from the EU.

I think with the EU... GL saw it as some alternate universe thing that allowed others to have fun while not being beholden to it. He did say a few years after ROTS was released that if he ever did the ST the Emperor would not come back

 

why I never bothered reading any of it to be honest

it would be like reading the gnostic gospels...the majority of it would just annoy me

I think you all know by now I go by movies alone

Also was halfway posting my reply to said ST thread but deleted it, I thought what's the point...many people are not gonna change their opinion regardless, while I'm like PJ I'm happy to change my mind when confronted with new points of view, presentation of facts etc,

some in that forum are far too stubborn, it's irritating

I agree. I really, really don't like TLJ, but I'll jump at any opportunity for someone to change my mind in a more positive way on it

I was listing reasons to change your mind to make it an "ok" movie for you, but all the reasons I gave were purely subjective and what works for me wouldn't for you necessarily

 

You know, I would love the idea of Palpatine coming back as a clone, but only if he developed differently. How interesting would it be to have a clone that is nothing like the greatest Sith Lord of the saga? Maybe he dibble dabbles with the darkside, but due to his own journey and development, he comes out a far better person. Maybe he would even be a Jedi.

But nah, once a bad guy always a bad guy, no matter what. That’s why Anakin was a little selfish prick in TPM and not a true to heart child.

Honestly, if I had time, I would watch TFA and TLJ back to back since I've never done that before and i wanna truly see for myself how well they go together

 

just add Punzy meeting Palps in that paragraph somewhere and you've just made the plot for Tangled 2

 

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if someone who didn't like the Prequels has said that at some point or something
