Matt was exhausted after the rather long night. When the reinforcement finally arrived he called off the nuclear strike on Black Rock. Steven Alden had advised him to. Hard to discuss with a man who dreamt of the future.

He had spend hours with Angel and Steven and the little Ava. Angel had told him about the future she came from and Steven had assured Matt that this was never going to happen. Kawin and a secret operative called Jane had a vaccine and also it would come to late for many, humanity would prevail. Alpha and most of his ArtiGifted had been killed.

Matt liked the thought. They had won. Alpha had fallen. He was the President now and he was scared of that thought. He had been right this time to trust the Gifted, to believe in them. How often had he been wrong, but tonight he had been right.

"Angel." He looked at the beautiful girl and smiled as he took a sip from his coffee. "Tell me how does this time travel thing work, exactly."
