This is going to be so great. They come from a very similar story. Both were on the margin of their respective organizations (Finn was in FO sanitation, Rose in the Resistance maintenance) and then they show everyone how it's done. I'm seeing these images together around Tumblr so I'm posting them here:

KK praised Rian's writing of women and Rose is his baby, not someone he inherited from JJ and Kasdan. She's gonna be great.

BTW, you can see here that Rian says she proves that everyone can be a hero. Highly doubtful he's misdirecting in order to hide that she is an evil double agent:

 

I'm just saying, a theme for famously starcrossed lovers can be interpreted in different ways. Finnrose isn't my top choice but I'm open to it if it doesn't blow up in the end (especially if that involves Rose being fridged or betraying Finn).

 

This is what I don't get...how do you root for a couple....when they've yet to interact on screen?....for all we knoiw Rose is Poe's girlfriend...and yet people are trying to ship Rose and FInn....based off a song choice?

 

Um. Some people were doing the same thing for TFA prior to seeing Finn and Rey share the same screen.

 

Based on the fact that they're on an adventure together, as shown by the spy photos

 

....That tells me nothing about their actual interaction....and I never saw anyone shipping Rey and Finn before TFA....I certainly didn't.

Really. I certainly saw it on the net.

Especially since most people thought she was a Solo, Adam was her brother and Domnhall was her cousin (Luke's kid).

So people were pairing Daisy with John.

 

Because it's the internet? People shipped Jyn and, well, basically every other character in the lead up to Rogue One. Jynennic with a thing, and Krennic and Jyn ended up having 15 seconds of interaction before one of them got shot.

 

The people turning cartwheels over Finn/Rose are the same people who are VERY invested in Rey having a romance with a character who is NOT Finn.

I'm sure that's just a coincidence, though.

 

Sometimes one is not rooting for this couple directly, but is rooting for these two to be a couple, so that neither gets in the way of the couple they really want to ship. The best part of all this is so far we haven't seen any real romance/couples in the ST; it's all in the imagination.

 

I can already tell they'd have way more romantic chemistry than Rey and Finn.

If they actually pursue anything with the Poe/Finn fan shipping, they should just have a really awkward moment where Poe misinterprets signals from Finn in a wannabe Han/Leia type scene from Empire. Finn just pushes him away mildly freaking out saying he doesn't swing that way, before Poe awkwardly apologizes and walks out.

 

Not really. Some of us are looking forward to see Finn at least have something over the other characters introduced in TFA.


If that's a romance with a new character going through a journey, then so be it.

Han's dead, so no more Han-Leia romance. Someone has to pick up the slack.
