Her screen name's not familiar, Ben, unless she posted under a different name. Traci reminded me that we met her at one of the Celebrations. It's very sad to hear that such a young, vibrant person passed away.

    Howdy y'all.....

I'm probably preaching to the comverted here but I just finally saw the Family Guy "Something Something Dark Side....." and highly reccommend it for a damn good laugh. Funnier than the Blue Harvest one I reckon.

I didn't like that was as much as the first one, JD. I dunno... Seth McFarlane is kinda wearing thin, and this adaptation didn't seem as good to me. Also the fact that the rat made everyone buy it on DVD first instead of making it part of the regular Family Guy season only to feel that it wasn't worth the $20 I paid didn't help it much.

One part I did like, though, was Luke (Chris) and Artoo (Cleveland) approaching Dagobah-

"Artoo... We're here... Put your shoes on."

I didn't realise it was handled like that. Fair enough. That would cheese me off too.

Funnily enough, I'm not really a fan of Family Guy itself.

What got me interested was the 'Emperor on the phone to Anakin' in Robot Chicken.

The first time I saw that I had tears coming out of my eyes I was laughing that much

Robot Chicken has definitely trumped Family Guy when it comes to Star Wars humor, JD. They've done two SW shows, and both were awesome.

The Emperor sketch was awesome, but I think this one even tops it: Dr. Ball, MD.

Took some work to find that video... most sites wouldn't let me because I'm not in the US.

    Good stuff! Damn well done.

I've downloaded the whole 2nd episode of RC/SW but haven't had a chance ot watch it yet - dammit!!

I can't see the interrogation droid now without thinking about "Dr. Ball".

    "Good day, sir!"

I stil say that Geordie SW was the best SW related piss-take ever.

While it's admittedly pretty childish in places, it's comedy genius in others.

Just downloaded the Geordie one... will be watching it over the weekend.

For those of you heading to Nashville in June:

    http://www.nashvilletennessee.net/eventCalendar/AustralianFestivalatCentennialParkinNashvilleTN.cfm

Sounds a bit cring-worthy, but some of you might have fun with the (no doubt completely overblown) aussie-isms.

That does sound cringe-worthy, JD! Who made Paul Hogan head of the Nashville Tourism Bureau?

Well, I was hoping to have another movie night on the schedule for June, but it appears that summer has shown up with a vengeance. With the temps running at or over 100 degrees- weather we don't normally get until August- the Jedi is going to have to wait a while to Return!

Parody names like 'yoghurt and 'pizza the hutt'?

Really, that would only have gone a long way towards making the PT tolerable. Not least when you have names like Sleazebaggano and Grevious that were apparently meant to be said with a straight face.

    "20 years after it's (ANH's) original release...."

IE, right before Lucas ****ked the OT up the arse with his unneeded additions, and gave us all advance warning of what the PT would be like?

Can't believe I missed it...... still the right day for some of you though.....

    [image=http://members.iinet.net.au/~treehaven/treehaven/bttf.bmp]

Anyone had a visit from Marty McFly yet?

Now where did I put my hoverboard?

    <EDIT>

Ok.... so I was sucked in by the hoax like a lot of other people..... I should just go and watch the thing again myself.

    I've got it here somewhere.......

Ok- I just saw some of the Hallmark ornaments at San Diego Comic Con!.

    I'm a happy fanboy!

Lots of new Star Wars, Harry Potter, Batman and more!

This year I get a Harley Quinn, next year I get a Catwoman and a '66 Batmobile!

    Oh, and a minion!!!

Nicki loved the HP ones, Marvin The Martian, and the Lego Darth Vader.

The Green Lantern, Thor, and Peanuts ones were cool, too.

    Schweeeeeet..!!!

    Lin

Hey all! Sorry to drop in so infrequently and then make this kind of post, but here goes...:

Does anyone have an extra seat or need/want to carpool for C5? I reserved that weekend off but never made specific plans b/c I didn't know if I could afford it. I still can't afford it, but might be able to swing it if I can share gas money with someone.

We should start a pool- How many Tupperware-clad and otherwise-costumed fanboys fall out from the Central Florida heat next week. I say 23.
