    The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan - my favorite of the series

    Robert Jordan Division

    The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch - not a choice I was happy making, especially since I'm such a Sanderson fan, but Well was my least favorite in the trilogy, and I really liked Locke.

    I'd read both, but didn't really think one was significantly better than the other until a certain fellow poster in this thread convinced me otherwise;)

    It's not. Well of Ascension is an excellent book; LoLL is pretty average :p

    Tough, but I'm going to go with Eye of the World. Love them both, though.

    Well of Ascension, and this one isn't even remotely close :p Unfortunately, my vote would force a tie and thus gets discounted :(

    The first one's a real toughie. I guess I've got to go with The Return of the King. And The Silmarillion, naturally.

    It's pretty unfortunate that my favorite WoT books either weren't in the tourney to start with or got matched against Tolkien.

    Wow, lots of Tolkien 8-}

    Pretty easy for me, though - RotK and The Shadow Rising, the only two I've read.

    RotK and Silmarillion, though they don't really need another vote.
