"Planning a vacation?" The General's (Hector Zey) question visibly disturbed both padawan Ka and the Peacemaker (Master Piim) and even to Taab it seemed an odd way to greet someone whose contributions would be vital going forward. "Grandmaster," the Peacemaker said, a disapproving look crossing her face as she did so. The General looked ashamed for a moment before his expression hardened again.

"Quite right," he said, sounding cowed. "Knight Loother, we were actually just talking about you and I've decided," he cast a wary glance in the Peacemaker's direction, "that it is essential for you to accompany us on our next mission." He gestured towards the nearby Council Chambers and ushered her and the others inside. "Would you be so kind as to join us for the planning session? Darth Harbinger is on his way for questioning and hopefully we will have all the answers we need soon enough."

"You don’t have to go out of your way." Healer Susruta shared a look with padawan Nosrep. Knight Dareagen's smile seemed less than sincere as he had made that statement. "Like I said, I’m fine, just a little tired. I’m sure the Force will get me through, it has so far." Susruta nodded, "The Force is indeed a powerful ally, but there was no need to rely on it exclusively when a Jedi has his friends to lean upon." He gestured to himself and padawan Nosrep.

"I am not much of a warrior, a diplomat maybe, a scholar yes, but... well I can't imagine what good I will bring to this meeting. Are you sure I should go?" The Ithorian healer wasn't surprised at the response, it was rather odd that a padawan of his level and emphasis of training should go along with them to the meeting, but Susruta was sure the Force was pushing them in the right direction.

"Trust in the Force padawan, and you too Knight Dareagen, that we will all be where we are meant to be." He waved them to follow him out of the infirmary. "Now, let us go. The Council is waiting."

Darth Sixtus held her smile as Darth Harbinger was removed from his cell in shackles. If he was right this was the last time the two Sith would ever see each other, but she could give the Jedi no indication of that. They each had their separate destinies to fulfill, and as much as Sixtus wanted to take control of her own fate, she knew there was no fighting this.

    If Darth Harbinger was right.

If not, they would probably both be dead. Executed once the Jedi no longer had need of them. She hoped Harbinger was right.

"Master, I think I'm ready for that additional training now." The words from padawan Thrace stung. She had hoped he would stay with her. For a moment her smile dropped, replaced by a look of panic. This wasn't the way things were supposed to go. Were they? Knight Archisa was already on his way to the Council room, escorting Harbinger, and now Sixtus gave Master Kasumi a dirty look as she led young Thrace away as well. It was going to be lonely here she thought as the exterior door clanged shut and locked behind them, at least for a little while.

IC: General Hector Zey/Master Piim (NPC)/Beskaryc Taab/Knight Elim Rand (NPC)/Darth Harbinger (NPC)
    Council Chambers, Temple of Light

Taab watched from near in the entry way as the Council of Guradians convened. The circular room was nearly empty, the polished stone floors clacked along with those who wore boots and heavy shoes, though the shoe less Peacemaker's (Master Piim's) footfalls were silent. On the far side of the room, arranged in a semi circle the Council itself took their seats. The General (Hector Zey), in the center seat look anxious, eager to get things started, while the Peacemaker sitting to his right looked as serene as ever. Next to her on her own right was Future (Hochner Trevalus) the Kubaz Knight. Taab had a more difficult time interpreting the non human's facial expressions, but if someone put a gun to his head he would say he was pensive, or perhaps he was just deep in thought.*

Several of the other chairs were empty. Recent missions had not been kind to the Jedi in terms of either casualties or members unable to carry forth their duties. Sandman (Daniel Sandstrider), Saberjockey (Knight Be'orar), Momma (Knight Sherland) and Brains (Master Ropol) had all been assigned to other, less glamorous duties around the Temple after being unable to cope with the constant stress of the Sith siege. The General waved for the Negotiator (Knight Elim Rand) to take the seat at his own left, which elicited a smirk from the Jedi Knight. The other seats would go unfilled for now, though Taab assumed that the Old Fossil (Master Kasumi) would have been given one of them had she been here. The other Jedi in the room, Knight Loother, padawan Ka and Scars (Eira Dryn) kept their place, standing before the Council within their semicircle of half empty chairs.

There was a gentle knock at the doorway behind him before the ornate wroshyr wood doors swung open behind him. Figuring that an attacker wouldn't knock first, but still thinking it was better to be safe than sorry, the Mandalorian still snapped his head over to see the three beings who entered next. One of these, Knight Dareagen, didn't surprise him, though his condition did. Taab had argued for the man to be afforded the chance to take this mission off, but the General had insisted he be a part of it. Even still, Taab was rather unhappy to see the state the Jedi Knight was in. He was clearly tired, worn, but doing his best to keep it together. Taab looked to the General, hoping the Jedi leader would see the obvious, but he didn't look concerned. The other two Jedi who entered were Doc (Healer Susruta) and an Ongree padawan that Taab called Flipflop (Semajj Nosrep) for his inverted facial features. What were they doing here? Taab asked himself as Doc bowed deeply to the now seated Council and took his place within the semicircle in front of them. Neither the General nor the Peacemaker seemed upset by their presence, though the Togruta did seem concerned for the well being of Knight Dareagen as the doors swung shut.

A few moments passed and the doors swung back open, this time without warning. Taab's hand twitched down at the holstered blaster pistol at his side as Knight Archisa entered, pushing the shackled form of Darth Harbinger out in front of her. The Jedi standing in front of the Council moved back swiftly, taking up places farther back along the wall as the Mirialan Knight and her Sith captive took up their places, center stage as it were.

"So, it has begun," the Sith said through an insincere smile. He could feel the tension in the room, the frustration, the fear. It was all as it was supposed to be, and now the end game would soon be upon them. The General wasted no time though on pleasantries or playing the Sith's game. "We've killed Darth Zelus, and retrieved the codes from her mind. Are you still going to help us?"

The Sith surveyed the room, they truly were desperate to be turning to him for help, but he knew that would be the case. He was somewhat surprised to see how desperate they had become, half the Coucil seats were empty and obvious padawans in his presence? He should thank them for such an opportunity. His smile dropped as he caught sight of the Kubaz Knight. He knew their destinies were intertwined, and that frightened him. But so too was the fate of the Sith Order and these Jedi intertwined, he had to play his part. He looked back to the Jedi Grand Master. "Of course, I will do anything I can to help." The Jedi Grandmaster frowned, he didn't trust the Sith, that much was clear, but he had little choice in the matter.

"Get me close enough and I can implant the codes into the Hellfire's brain." He smiled that all knowing smile again as Taab questioned from the back of the room. "How close?" The Sith closed his eyes, feeling through the Force where the Mandalorian stood. Without turning around he answered him. "I'll have to be within five kilometers to overpower the ship's mind, though perhaps that's not the right term." Behind his faceplate Taab frowned, an expression that was mirrored by several Jedi in the room. ignoring the last part he concentrated on the distance requirement. "So close? Why?"

"Because the ship is a hybrid vessel, it's computer core was damaged in one of the One Sith's final battles with the Fel Empire. We were forced to take.... extreme measures to ensure the ship would function."

The Togruta Jedi spoke to him now, stating matter of factly. "That doesn't explain..."

Darth Harbinger's smile turned to laughter, a laughter that echoed off the walls of the nearly empty chamber. "Our former...master was wounded in that battle. Darth Cavillous had Veneficus remove his brain to be used as the ship's central processing unit. I didn't think it was possible, but Veneficus is...was," he looked through hooded eyes towards the Mirialan Knight, "rather exceptional in his own ghoulish way." He turned his attention back to the Council. "Darth Shaga lives on, though he is...not himself. He has become the ship, and he must obey our commands, but I have to be close to him to establish the mind link."

The other human, the Knight sitting to the Grandmaster's left spoke now in a clipped Coruscanti accent.. "And why do we need you? We have the codes, we can implant them ourselves." Darth Harbinger shook his head. "Shaga only trusted me, he will only accept those codes from me. Not even Zelus could break into his mind, but once he senses my presence nearby, he will let me into his mind willfully."

The Grandmaster sat, mulling this over. He he already set the Guardians on this course of action, but now he was unsure as to whether it was the correct one or not. As he sat, it opened up the opportunity for questions from the others. It was clear they would have to plan this mission with the help and contributions of this Sith, so escorting him away for the process seemed counter productive, the real question, the only question, was whether they could trust him or not, and it was a question that the Grand Master of the Guardians of Light simply had no answer to.

OOC: * gag taken from Stargate SG-1.

OOC II: Jedi in the Council Chamber feel free to question Darth Harbinger to your heart's content. I'm on daily so I should be able to answer any question to him within a day, maybe even sooner. I am going to give us until November for questioning and final mission planning and hopefully have the mission launched that first week in November so we are at least close to being on schedule. Gotab and CoffeeNinja, feel free to move your characters to a training or sparring room and begin your training. Your characters will be called back in time for the mission to start so we don't leave anyone behind.

Suraya gave a sweeping glance at all of her compatriots present before walking around Harbinger and began pacing back and forth in front of him. His smugness and provocative demeanor betrayed ulterior motives in her mind’s eye, contrary to his previous claims.

While you have hinted previously, in so many words, that you believe your purpose here is one of providence, in this conflict between the Jedi and Sith, you have not revealed your own personal motives for agreeing to help us…motives we will need to know…if you expect us to agree to your plan.

She now halted directly before him making steady eye contact, For if you really are a neutral entity…as you so profess to be in this chain of events, simply a passive instrument in the hands of destiny, then you are more Jedi than Sith, for most of us destiny is but a synonym for the will of the Force.

Darth Harbinger's eyes gleamed as Knight Archisa asked her question. They still didn't trust him, even after all he had given them, after all he had promised them. He frowned slightly, not quite saddened, but...disappointed by her words. Of all the Jedi he thought she had already understood. It was time for another lesson.

"I have seen the future, a future that should not surprise you," he began. "The fight between the light and the dark will not end here, nor will it be over in a thousand years." He paused, wondering if that prospect bothered them as much as it did him when he had first foreseen it. "There was a time when I would do anything to stamp out the light, to contain or destroy it, but though my vision I have come to realize that neither it nor the darkness can ever be destroyed." He figured that would shock them, it had certainly shocked him when he had come to that realization. "The light and dark define one another, one cannot exist without the other."

"Two sides of the same spoonbending coin," Taab interrupted, which elicited a wry laugh from Harbinger. "Yes, perhaps simplified so your mundane mind can understand, but you are essentially correct." He returned to his answer. "I have seen in those glimpses of the future, this place, this Temple ascendant, fighting the forces of corruption and darkness throughout the galaxy, and I have seen the darkness grow to overcome it in due course, only to see the light rise again. Over and over the cycle repeats..."

"All of this has happened before, and will happen again." Now it was the Grand Master muttering under his breath. Harbinger paused for a moment and nodded sagely. He had thought those very same words countless times. "In this moment though, in this cycle, this place cannot be allowed to fall. If it does, the victorious Sith, what few remain, will be drawn here like a moth to a flame. With no Jedi to stop us, our power would grow but our passions would see us fight one another. We would eventually fall upon one another like wolves." He smiled a sharp toothy grin. "It is in our nature." He stopped and look Knight Archisa in the eyes, meeting her gaze. "In time, your Order would rise again, but both sides will be weaker, less than they are now, and our understanding of the Force, our true understanding of the Force, would be a goal nearly impossible for anyone on either side to achieve."

"I don't do this not merely for prophecy or for you. I do this to ensure the survival of the Sith, and yes through that the Jedi. We must be forever pitted against one another in order to discover our true strength, our true power." His eyes seemed to glaze over in a sickening yellow color. "Peace is lie, there is only passion. Through passion I gain strength, through strength I gain power and through power I gain victory. Through victory my chains are broken. The Force shall free me." He spoke the words of the ancient Sith code with reverence and fierce determination. "I have come to understand that the victory is not to be over the light, but is to be found in the fight itself. The fight is ongoing, the fight is forever. A final victory by one over the other would be a hollow one, tasting of ash in the mouth. It would mean the struggle was over, that true understanding of the Force could no longer be achieved. It is that true and final understanding that I seek, not by me, that die has been cast, but by those who would follow."

    Jedi Council Chambers

As the young Jedi entered the chamber he still felt somewhat out of place. The Healers kind words had relieved the worst of his concerns, but he couldn't help but notice a sense of surprise coming from several of the members present as they noticed him. He had not been asked for, yet here he was.

He of course recognized all of the members of the Council, and most the other Padawans that were here he was somewhat acquainted with because of their daily routine in the temple, and still others by reputation alone.

His eye's shifted to the outlier, the one who was neither Mandalorian nor Jedi.

He was certainly an imposing one.
For it was apparent he was Sith.

Semajj held his breath and looked around trying to understand what was going on. Surely this situation was even graver than he had heard, for them to be acting on the words of a dark one. He had known that they had captured two of them, but he was woefully unprepared to come face to face with one.
The other Jedi present were questioning him, and the monster seemed to rant continuously about his visions of the future.
He spoke of an endless cycle, that this conflict would be never ending, just one more cog in a never ending war.
The idea seemed to gruesome to fathom. This man clearly had a fanatic attachment to the Sith yet he was helping them? To grow stronger?
    The Ongrees head hurt.
And as his speech came to an end, Semajj realized he was still holding his breath.
Exhaling slowly he tried to make sense of this.
And all he could think to do was wait and see what the other Jedi present thought, just about all were more experienced than him, even as some looked to be younger. He came to face just how cooped up he had been, how safe and secure from the real conflict, and now faced with reality of it all, he felt more like a youngling than a Padawan.

All of this has happened before…and will happen again.

Suraya repeated Zey’s words softly like a mantra under her breath several times as she took a step backwards a respectable distance from Harbinger and began to try to absorb the significance of his eloquent words. Never had he spoken in such length in their custody, nor had he ever revealed the depth of his understanding of the Force, which she imagined might far outdistance most of the Jedi in the room.

She paused momentarily waiting for and looking at her fellow Jedi trying to sense if any questions might be forthcoming. She held her gaze hopefully on Hochner for a moment. Did he really have to wear those goggles even while indoors? she smiled to herself at her inquiry in a moment of respite from the intensity of the moment. But his wizened composure would have undoubtedly revealed nothing even without them she imagined.

This wasn’t the time though for a metaphysical or philosophical discussion of the finer elements of the Force. If they were going to take action, they had to act, and act swiftly. What was needed now was to see if the others present felt as she was starting to feel with some certainty, that the Sith Lord’s words could be trusted enough to make such a leap of faith to initiate the mission.

Suraya turned again towards Harbinger from her private reflections, The Jedi aboard the Hellfire…will they be saved…can they...and have you seen them? Does your cellmate Sixtus play any role in this endeavor?

Kambie stood quietly and respectfully. She could open her mouth, she could spit out a question, but she didn't have any questions. Kambie believed she had answers. This Sith was bad news. No Sith was to be trusted. Kambie had the codes and superb Jedi training. She could go overpower that ship right now. This was such a waste of time. It took every string of will power Kambie possessed not to leave the meeting, power up a ship and go take care of this mission herself. She knew if she did such a thing it would be foolish. She'd never be trusted again. Making enemies of her fellow Jedi was a bad idea. Maybe not as bad of an idea as bringing along a Sith as an "ally" on a mission. Hopefully her comrades would wise up soon and they could take back their temple. Until then, Kambie decided to be patient.

Leaving the stockade and heading to a training room

Kasumi saw the look that Sixtus gave her. Kasumi didn't dignify it with a look...neither kind nor glare...she just kept her face emotionless. Kasumi just quietly nodded to Thrace's comment that he was ready now. She could only show in the path...he would have to chose to walk it. Although this was the beginning...it was a start. As Kasumi left the room she knelt down to Buddy. "Thank you friend for your help. I have one more request. They are taking a Sith to the council chambers for a meeting. I need you to go to this meeting for me. Record what happens...and then bring it back to me. I'm uneasy about a Sith being around so many Jedi minds. Please friend." Buddy whistled an excited yes as he was always grateful to help his friend and master. "Thank you. You know where to find me when you are done."

Kasumi watched as her R2 friend went towards the chambers. She was grateful for her friend. Now she would spend her time focusing on Thrace's training. Kasumi gave Thrace a warm smile as he exited. She made sure they hung back as the prisoner was moved and walked a good pace behind him.

"Thrace, before we start on this journey we should know a bit about one another. There is something in your past that has you wondering where you belong in the Temple. Believe me when I tell you, all Jedi have that thought. Know that I am here to help you get to where you want to be in the Temple, not to treat you as a lesser part of this team. Master and student need to work together both in their training, and on the battle field. So, I want to know what you know already...I want to see where you training has you at this far. And I want to build on that moving forward. Now, as we walk towards the training area, I would like to learn more about you. Tell me where you are from, your family, close friends...tell me about your likes, dislikes....your hobbies.....what you do to blow off steam....and tell me what you expect of me as a Master. When you are done, I will tell you about myself. If I don't tell you something or you have questions ...please ask... and I will do my best to answer them. As for what I expect of you I want you to be true to who you are, where the Force is leading you, and to always try your best. No matter what happens, as long as you know you gave this 100%, then you did not fail."

Kasumi concluded the small opener with another warm smile.

    IC Ian Thrace
Looking back, going forward, lost in the moment, Temple of Light

Ian looked back as Padawan Takkoo closed the hatch behind them. He had left Darth Sixtus back there, left her alone, possibly to never see her again, and without even saying goodbye. He looked ahead of him, where Master Kasumi was leading him to one of the training rooms. Did she understand how he felt? Could she? Did it even matter? There was no way she would have let him stay there alone, no way she would have ever let him say good bye. It wasn't fair, he wanted to be with Sixtus, even though the prospect of that seemed to frighten him beyond comprehension. He was so confused, so...lost.

What did the future hold? Ian had no way of knowing and he doubted Master Kasumi or Darth Sixtus did either. Things were moving so fast now, and yet whenever he was with Sixtus time seemed to stop. He had to concentrate on his training, Master Kasumi was going out of her way to help him, but how could he when his thoughts dwelt on her? He didn't know, and he couldn't dare ask. This was fate, or destiny, or the will of the Force and he had to accept it, no matter how much he didn't want to.

As for what I expect of you I want you to be true to who you are, where the Force is leading you, and to always try your best. No matter what happens, as long as you know you gave this 100%, then you did not fail."

Ian didn't really know where to start. No one had really ever taken such an interest in his past before, and given what he had gone through he had grown accustomed to liking it that way. "I...uhhh.. I don't know where I'm from. No where I guess." He shrugged sheepishly as they walked. "My earliest memories are of the Jedi Temple on Ossus burning after the Sith attacked." It seemed so long ago, and he had been so young, but he could still remember the screams, the fire. "I was only four or five at the time. I don't remember much of anything before...just after." He shuddered, he was sure there was a before, a time when he would have been just a youngling, but he could never recall any of those memories. "A Jedi Knight called Ibarra," He was sure she had a first name, though he could only remember her as master now, "took me away and we went into hiding." Memories of those terrible years, evading Sith patrols and roving bounty hunters played out in his mind. "She taught me what she could, how to survive and keep my talent hidden from those who would destroy us. When the Sith or their minions got too close, we would run again. They were too strong for her, and for me." His eyes started to tear up as his worst memories came flooding back again, the second time in as many days.

"We went to hide on Coruscant, she thought no one would ever look for us there, that we could hide in the huge population, but she was wrong."The image of the hulking form of that butcher Taab formed in his mind, though he did his best to erase it from his mind. "A bounty hunter caught up to us and killed her, right in front of me. She fought so bravely, so hard, to protect me, but she was no match for him." He wouldn't, he couldn't tell Master Kasumi that the bounty hunter was within these Temple walls, that Ian had gone to kill him when he realized it, but that he had been too afraid to go through with it.

"This lightsaber," he fingered the one hanging on his belt, "was hers. She gave it to me and told me to hide before she died...and I did." Memories of the Mandalorian looking for him and failing came unbidden. "Like a coward I hid, instead of striking back, of trying to avenge her killer I sat and I hid and after he gave up, I cried." The tears began streaming down his face. "After he left, I didn't know what to do. I found some other boys, a little older than me, teenagers, and fell in with them, but I wouldn't call them friends." He trembled as he remembered the beatings those older boys would give him because he was so weak and stupid. "I was only nine years old, I didn't know much, but they at least taught me how to pick a pocket." He sniffed and smiled for just a moment. "I was pretty good at it too. They didn't know I used the force to help me, if they knew they would have turned me in." The smile was wiped away.

"We eventually all got caught of course, after the Sith Empire was defeated, but we didn't care about any of that political stuff. There was a riot, or something on the prison ship though, and I was the only survivor. The Force called me here, I have no other explanation for it, and here I came."He wiped his running nose with his sleeve. "I don't have any friends, no hobbies. I can't really say I do anything for fun, too wrapped up in survival I guess, and in keeping my abilities a secret." He shrugged again. "I don't have to do that here anymore I guess. I thought this place would be a new home, but now it's under threat too, and I fear it is all happening again, that someone else will take away the only place I could ever be myself,"whoever that is he thought forlornly, "because I'm not strong enough to stop it. Not strong enough to protect even myself."

He blinked to himself. She had asked him what he wanted of him as a Master, what he expected of her, and now he knew. "I want to be strong, Master Kasumi. I want to be able to protect myself and I want to be able to stay in a place because I want to. To be myself without fear of everything being taken from me." He felt a cold shiver run down his spine, one he had felt before, one that despite it's cold embrace made him feel all warm inside. Too warm really, hot like burning embers. "I want to be powerful Master Kasumi, I want to be free."

    Entering the training room

"I want to be powerful Master Kasumi, I want to be free."

Kasumi stopped just as both she and Thrace crossed the threshold into to the training room. With a seemingly effortless wave the door shut behind them. It was the the training that she wanted hidden, if she was going to open up to him, the door would have to be shut. Free....if only being free was that easy. Kasumi touched the light saber at her back and her own at her side.

"I understand the loss of a master, the need to go into hiding, and the want to be around people...no longer afraid. I was in my final training stages at the Temple on Coruscent, and had just finished my Trial of the Flesh. I was healing, and then darkness came. The Temple was destroyed, I felt the loss of my Master, I felt the loss of the young ones, and had it not been for the medical staff....I would have died as well. I was able to make it to a safe place, was able to meet up with Masters that were left alive, and from then on lived my life in hiding. I was able to finish my training, but like you, the Jedi had to live apart and hidden. So, I became a master of hiding myself as well, and I used that time to learn about the society I lived in. I learned to modify what I had learned to fit the situation, I began to be able to delve deeper in the Force, and understand it better."

As she spoke Kasumi moved around the room that she and Buddy had worked on. There were ropes for climbing, wooded dummies for practicing close hand to hand combat...when the saber is useless....other forms of agility drills....a sparring area where both master and student could learn together....and other areas that they would work on together. Kasumi wanted Thrace to help design his own training space.

"Just when I thought that the darkness couldn't get worse, it took my homeward, and my family. Even though they couldn't know where I was, were were always connected through the Force. I wanted nothing more than to take out my pain on the one that had caused so much pain to me. It was the same Sith each time...the same pair. But, I found a way to channel that pain..and fight against it with the people of the village that I was living in. We were small, but we won at the end of the day. We are a like in a lot of ways Thrace."

Kasumi reached for the saber at her back and showed it to him.

"I carry my first Master's saber. It was given to me by those that chose to not follow the darkness, and were loyal to her. I carry both my masters, my family, my homeward, and my village family with me in my heart. I have times that I can feel them in the Force. Being powerful for me is being able to win my own internal struggle with the dark everyday. Choosing to do what is right and what will help others. To be free to me...is being able to be me...not having to show my powers, but knowing when to show them. The powers I have, and you have, are not who we are...they are just a part of us. We chose who we are, and who we show to others. As long as we are comfortable in our own skin...and with who are are...then we are free. There will always be fear and darkness as long as there is the light. Just know one cannot exist entirely without the other."

Kasumi placed her hand on Thrace's shoulder.

"This training space is ours. I have built some of it from my unorthodox training I went through after losing my first Master. The rest of the space, I want you to help design around you..your experiences...yes even as a pick pocket. Those skills may come in handy.....and I want to make sure you can draw on what already know and what you have learned. I hope that sounds like something that you would like to work on together."

As the questions were bantered back and forth Taab listened, and took note of a beskar'ad (droid) that was recording the proceeding. He recognized it as Old Fossil's (Master Kasumi's) astro-mech. Well at least she would be up to speed on things when she was done doing whatever it was she was doing, and the Jedi would have a full record of things should they need to go back and review the decisions that would be made here tonight. He made a mental note to ask for a copy of the droid's recording to compare to his own. Taken at different angles one might grab a bit of context that the other had missed. Meanwhile the questions continued.

"The Jedi aboard the Hellfire...will they be saved...can they...and have you seen them? Does your cellmate Sixtus play any role in this endeavor?"

Darth Harbinger eyed the Jedi cautiously, as before she had taken the lead in questioning him, and now Harbinger wondered if she didn't know more than she let on, if she didn't see the whole picture better than the others did right now. "In this endeavor?" Harbinger asked, answering Archisa's last question first, and with one of his now, before clarifying. "No, her role is elsewhere, the future." He paused, wondering how much he could give away, how much he should give away. He decided to tell them what he saw, what they needed to know. "My vision...disturbs her, but she has come to accept it," for the most part anyway he admitted to himself. He knew she held grave reservations on what the future held for her, but it was for the good of everything she believed in for her to follow through on her part.

"Those imprisoned on the Hellfire, most of them will survive." He changed topics and answered the first query now. "There will be losses though, among your own number and from those held in carbonite." It was a somber admission, and he gave a brief pause to acknowledge it. "But this moment will allow for the return of many Jedi to this Temple, it will begin it's resurgence."

That seemed to satisfy the Grand Master, but the Togrutan Master seemed concerned now about something he had said earlier. "And Sixtus? You have teased us with her fate..."

Harbinger smiled, relishing in telling them the truth now, even if Sixtus didn't want them to know of it just yet. "Darth Sixtus will come to wield a green lightsaber rather sooner than later." He let the ramifications of what he just said sink in. "She too will survive, longer than me and longer still than some of you. She will fall in time. Fall at the end of a red blade, to a Sith Lord not yet born." His eyes gleamed with delight now, his grin widened to a broad smile. "For her you see, the future brings only conversion."

Suraya felt the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stand on end and her skin begin to tingle at Harbinger’s revelation of Sixtus one day turning towards the Light. Never before had she seen a Sith redeemed. The very thought of it formed a lump in her throat and before she could stop it a tear trickled down one of her olive cheeks over her intricate facial tattoos.

Even the mere idea was a form of joy more sublime than she had rarely ever experienced in this dark galaxy in the course of her life. Quickly she brought her sleeve up to wipe away the tear and lowered her chin to allow the sides of her black headdress to form a concealing curtain around her face for a moment.

Then mostly regaining her composure she turned towards the benevolent form of the Togrutan Grandmaster, There’s still good in her…I knew there was…still.

    IC: Kai Dareagan
Council Chambers, Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

Upon entering Kai stations himself against a wall using it to support his tired body. All the usual suspects are there, the council, Taab, the other Jedi he'd seen around, what he didn't expect was the Sith, Darth Harbinger he believed. The grand master started the interrogation, he asked for the man's assistance. Even though his fatigue Kai feels energy course though him, an twinge of anger and a little disgust. Harbinger is a being of darkness, they all could feel it. The light should not seek solutions in darkness, he knew that there were no answers there.

As he continues into the specifics of how he would bring the Jedi onto the ship, the young Knight's stomach turns. Force, to do such a thing, to allow that to happen, his own disgust grew, they were looking to this creature for help. He should be locked away, they would find another way. Kai looks to the Grand Master a man he saved and just shook his head. In his mind they should not even listen to whatever poison this being had to spread.

Archisa questions the Sith motives, as well she should, they all should be warry. The reply sent shivers up Kai's spine, wanting to continue a cycle of violence in a perverted pursuit for power. Maybe Master Sarr was right, the violence, even in the service of good begat only more violence. However if they didn't fight now they risked being wiped out, and another generation of darkness sweeping over the galaxy. Then again the light would rise, so in a way, they would never be defeated but, did that make the atrocities the Sith would commit while the Jedi regrouped any less? No, he could not allow the galaxy to suffer through another purge, another era of darkness. He stood with Conis on this one, the light must fight if only to keep evil in check so that it's blackness doesn't corrupt all we hold dear.

He rubs his eyes trying to will his tiredness away, he would need to be at his best if he is going to be useful. Scanning the room he feels the nervousness of the padawan he'd arrived with, to be far the knight felt much the same. He didn't like what is happening either. Wearily he made his way over to the Ongree, putting a light hand on his shoulder.

"It'll be alright." He says trying to be comforting. He finds another being in the chamber that seems to be standing respectfully but, there is a twitch like she wasn't on board with this either. He steps next to her, Loother, if he remembered, the woman that killed Zelus.

"I don't like this," he says quietly, hopeful only he and Loother could hear, "But, I don't see any other way right now."

    Jedi Council Chambers

Did he hear that right? He couldn't have heard that right. Semajj was baffled. A Sith turning to the light? That seemed immensely unlikely to him, bordering on improbable. Sure he had heard the stories of Anakin's redemption, and a scant few others before or after him. But the dark side was an all consuming entity, it destroyed peoples minds, and their futures. It was very difficult to come out of it once one had fallen. And to think one such as this Sixtus would embrace the light, it seemed absurd.
He once again scanned the other Jedi's features, were they buying into this? Perhaps they knew something he didn't, he surely was not one to question them, but he couldn't fathom how such a dark one would join them. The Mirialan, Jedi Suraya if he recalled correctly, seemed particularly affected by the proclamation, tears appeared in her eye's. Yet he did not sense any sadness in her, but instead... joy? What a curious response, perhaps he still had much to learn of her species and others.
As she turned to talk to the grand master, he sensed Kai Dareagan next to him. "It'll be alright." the man spoke quietly in a comforting tone. Was he really broadcasting his emotions so? Normally he had better control over them. It must be the late hour, yes that was all it was. Semajj nodded slightly. "Th.. Thank you Jedi Dareagan." But the older Jedi had already turned to talk to another Jedi.
Semajj's focus returned to the Sith. He didn't trust the being for a second, and could indeed sense many of the other Jedi in the room had a similar sentiment. He prodded his mind for alternatives, though sadly he could find none. He folded his arms across his chest, and sighed a little. "I have a bad feeling about this." he muttered, more to himself than anyone else in the vicinity.

    IC: padawan Abyo (NPCs)
    Training Hall, Temple of Light

It was late and though padawan Abyo was tired, he found that he couldn't sleep. He'd had no issue of it earlier that night, when the mission had been ongoing. For the most part things had been quiet in the Temple then, there had been a nervous, anxious energy surrounding everything, but nothing that kept him from his normal nocturnal activities. But now the mission had ended, and the excitement level in the Temple had increased ten fold.

Rumors and gossip had once again taken over the padawan living level. After the last round of rumors regarding Darth Praedator had caused so much trouble Abyo did his best to distance himself from the general gossip, but one thing seemed certain, there had been casualties, maybe even a lot of them. It made for a tense atmosphere there on the padawan dorm level, and Abyo found that even with his room mate on duty near the stockade, Abyo couldn't sleep. he needed to clear his head, forget about everything going on around him and concentrate on himself, and the Force.

Meditation in his room had seemed the obvious solution, though he found it to not be the correct one. Sitting by himself, alone with his thoughts, he found them wandering to what he had heard about the mission. Knights and padawans lost and missing, the Sith having beaten them back preparing a major offensive, the Council in session either planning the Temple's last stand or their own counter attack on the Star Destroyer above depending on who you listened to. It was all too much, and Abyo decided that he needed to do something. Something to keep his body and mind active to open himself up to the Force and drown out the unwanted thoughts rolling around in his brain. It was well past lights out in the padawan dorms, but Abyo snuck out and headed for the training level. He doubted anyone else would be down there to train or spar with, but he could perhaps use the training equipment to work up a good sweat and get his mind off of things.

Once down there he was surprised to hear voices coming from down the hall. One of the voices, a woman's, he couldn't identify, but he thought he recognized the other as padawan Thrace. Rumor had it he had been lucky enough to actually go on the mission. Abyo quickened his pace. Hearing it from the eopie's mouth would at least settle the rumors down, and might help Abyo to sleep. If not, well at least it would be someone to train with. Before he could reach them though they entered one of the rooms and closed the door behind them. Did they not want to be disturbed? Abyo shrugged. He didn't know and figured it couldn't hurt to find out. Knocking on the door he asked in a loud voice.

"Hey Thrace, is that you in there?"

IC: General Hector Zey/Master Piim (NPC)/Beskaryc Taab/Knight Elim Rand (NPC)/Darth Harbinger (NPC)/Healer Susruta (NPC)
    Council Chambers, Temple of Light

The Council Chambers were a maelstrom of swirling and conflicting emotions as Darth Harbinger seemed to willingly answer any and all questions put forth to him. No longer was there prevarication, no longer was there double speak and answers meant to confuse rather than enlighten the Jedi. Still those answers brought no calm to the Jedi assembled, there were still feelings of confusion, distrust, hope, belief and of course the unbridled aggression felt from Major Taab. His were the only emotions from whom the source could be easily pinned down, and thus easily dismissed by Grand Master Zey. With that the old Jedi was able to also discern the sense of barely concealed tolerance from Darth Harbinger towards the Jedi and these proceedings. He was like an old school teacher, trying to enlighten a class of confused misfits.

There were murmurs on the Council as they heard the last words spoken by Darth Harbinger. Conversion? It was nearly unheard of. How could they accomplish such a thing? What Jedi could possibly get through to her? Knight Archisa perhaps, but the Grand Master didn't think even she could accomplish such a feat. It would have to be someone she had established a rapport with, a friendly rapport... Zey shook his head, this was distracting from matters at hand, how to rescue the imprisoned Jedi on the Hellfire. Converting Darth Sixtus could wait. Zey looked around the Council, at each of the members but it was the Mandalorian, Taab, who spoke first, and out of turn.

"I don't believe it, kill him now. Kill her like I've been saying all along and figure our own way to either rescue the Jedicicles or destroy the ship."

The impudence of the man, if they could do that than what had they sacrificed so many for already? But Zey could also feel that the sentiment was not far from the minds of others. He shook his head. "No, I will not allow the loss of our comrades to be in vain. We have the codes," Darth Harbinger nodded sagely, while looking directly at Knight Loother. Could he sense her thoughts, or did he somehow know it was she that held the codes he needed? "We will use them." Taab was impassive behind his faceplate, though everyone in the room could feel his barely controlled aggression. "As you wish," came his curt response.

"The question is...how?" The Grand Master continued after ensuring Major Taab's compliance, he looked to Master Piim who was shaking her head softly at Major Taab, either for his insolence or for his desire to kill the two Sith prisoners outright. Probably the latter. "We need to get aboard, and these codes offer us the best opportunity we are likely to see," she began cautiously. She motioned to the Mandalorian, despite her misgivings. "You are our tactical expert, your opinions?"

Taab moved forward, just a step in Harbinger's direction. Everyone in the room could feel the Mandalorian's desire to kill him, but he managed to keep himself in check. "Given our constraints, a small assault team on a pathfinder ship. They might not notice a single vessel. Drop the shield and board as fast as we can." He explained further, though he kept it simple. "Two teams a smaller one to hold the shuttle bay while the bulk of our force gets to the proper cargo hold and mel...thaws out the hostages. They escort them back to the hanger while the guard team calls up reserve shuttles to ferry them off the ship."

Zey gave an audible groan at the idea. He had taken his full measure of small scale operations. "Or...we launch a full scale assault, as many Jedi as possible in a series of attack shuttles escorted by fighters. No way they could miss us coming, and we'll have to fight through a fighter screen, but we can board with greater numbers and seize the entire ship once the shields are down." Zey squirmed uncomfortably. Despite his misgivings, a smaller team seemed the better option. "We would have to choose the pathfinder team with care." Taab nodded. "Of course, General." Everyone could sense that Taab was pleased that the Grand Master had come to his conclusion quickly, though the Mandalorian didn't seem to care which option they chose.

"So, two teams brought up by one shuttle?" Taab nodded again. "How many Jedi in total?" Taab's answer was less than confidence inspiring, though the Mandalorian seemed rather sure of himself. "On the ship I'm thinking of we can squeeze in just sixteen total plus a pilot. Just enough to take and hold the hanger bay and rescue the prisoners. That number of course includes Darth Harbinger who we need to bring down the shields, so in reality fifteen Jedi," he gestured towards himself, "and pilot." Darth Harbinger looked as though he had something to add, but Knight Rand spoke up first from his seat. "If we split up, I would like to be on the so called 'rescue team'." He wasn't sure what else to call it, though Taab chimed in. "Aurek team, the rescue team would be called the Aurek team, the holding group in the hanger bay is Omega."

There was a twinkle in Rand's eyes before he replied. "Right, the Aurek team." He paused and chuckled to himself before continuing on. "Those Jedi we rescue might be disoriented, unable to come to grips with what is going on. My diplomatic skill would best be used there." Zey stroked his chin before nodding his assent. Darth Harbinger though now voiced his concern.

"In either situation, you're going to have to seize the bridge. I can convince what is left of Shaga's mind to drop the shields for me for a few minutes at most. Cavillous will certainly countermand my order. I might be able to stall that from a command console in the hanger bay, but not for long. Eventually the Hellfire will have no choice but to obey an over ride order from the bridge. He looked gravely at Zey. "By the time you...by the time we have rescued the prisoners, that will have certainly taken place and the shields will be back up preventing our escape." Zey frowned and rubbed his chin, exchanging looks with Knight Rand.

"That complicates matters somewhat," the Jedi Knight responded. Zey nodded in agreement. "Darth Cavillous will certainly be there, ensuring we can't countermand his order then." Harbinger grinned as he answered. "Of course."

"It seems we need a third team then Major Taab, a Besh team to wrest control of the bridge away from Darth Cavillous." Taab nodded again, but the Jedi present could now feel his uncertainty. "There might not be enough Jedi on a small team to accomplish all three goals General, the larger assault force would..."

"Nonsense," Zey interrupted. "I'll take control of Besh team and the mission to take the bridge and destroy Darth Cavillous." He seemed very sure of himself now, his earlier concerns for a small operation having been completely forgotten. "I'll need Knight Archisa," he gestured to the the Mirialan Jedi Knight, "Knight Da..." he caught a look from Master Piim as she subtly shook her head no. He quickly altered what he was going to say "... Knight Rand. Sorry," he apologized to the Jedi Knight, "but I need your ability against Cavillous. Someone else will have to wet nurse the hostages." Rand inclined his head in acceptance of the assignment, though he disagreed with the wording. Meanwhile the Grand Master rounded out his team. "I'll also need Knights Arer and Menal along with padawan Ka."

Master Piim looked like she was going to object to the last name mentioned, but she had pushed things far enough with her concern over including Knight Dareagen. She knew that Zey wanted warriors capable of defeating a Sith, and assigning a padawan there seemed risky, even though he had recently defeated a Sith Lord on his own. Still he had so recently been tempted by the dark side, it seemed an awful risk. Ka though had become the Grand Master's personal case now, if the Grand Master went, Ka had to go too. The Togruta Master did wonder why Knight Loother wasn't assigned to the Besh team, she too had demonstrated her abilities. Given her personality conflicts with the Grand Master though, perhaps it was best if they weren't assigned together.

"Aurek team, the rescue team, will be led by Master Kasumi and comprised of Knight's Loother and Dareagen," Master Piim still thought he needed rest, but assigning him to the "easier" part of the mission was as good as she was going to get. "Along with Knight Letali, Eira Dryn and..." he searched for a Jedi to replace Knight Rand on the Aurek team. One that had already been "blooded" in combat. "...and padawan Thrace." The lad didn't have Zey's full confidence but he had acquitted himself well during their mission to infiltrate the Sith basecamp. Master Piim though voiced another objection.

"Grand Master," she started politely. "Padawan Thrace is..." she trailed off wondering the best way to phrase things. "Twitchy (Ian Thrace) is a mess," Taab offered as Master Piim settled on "...unstable." The Grand Master looked back and forth between the two. "He performed well both against the sith droids during their invasion of the Temple and during our assault on the Sith camp did he not?" Taab gave a curt nod, conceding the point though he didn't like it, but Master Piim argued on. "He is...dangerous, surely you can see it Grand Master." She hoped someone else would intervene and say something in agreement with her. "I think he should remain here under my supervision during the mission." It was then that Healer Susruta of all Jedi stepped forward with an idea to potentially fill that void.

"Grand Master, members of the Council," the Ithorian bowed deeply. "If I may," he straightened up. "Padawan Nosrep has been working diligently on the very skills that Knight Rand exemplifies so well." Rand leaned forward, taking note of the Ongree padawan and smiling warmly to him. "With Knight Rand tasked elsewhere on this mission and the concerns surrounding padawan Thrace, I believe that padawan Nosrep would be able to fill in quite nicely." The Grand Master likewise leaned forward, scrutinizing the padawan before looking to Knight rand who gave an affirmative nod. "Very well, if you think you can handle it padawan Nosrep, you will assist in rescuing the Jedi trapped in carbon freeze."

Healer Susruta stepped back and gave the padawan a knowing glance. This was why the Force had called them here. The Grand Master continued on looking to Master Piim. "Young padawan Thrace will remain behind under your supervision Master Piim." The Togruta Master inclined her head in acceptance and appreciation of the decision.

"Now...Omega team, just four members will consist of Major Taab who will also pilot our shuttle, Knight Vomkoju, Knight Reese and Knight Trevalus." The Mandalorian nodded to the Kubaz Knight. "Trevalus will be in overall command there holding the hanger bay for us, and also keeping tabs on the prisoner." Darth Harbinger looked pained at being referred to as such, though the Grand Master ignored him.

"Now Major Taab, what ship did you plan on us using for our infiltration?" The Mandalorian dimmed the lights and activated a holo projector on his gauntlet, the ghosted image of an old VCX 700 appeared above all of their heads.

"She's called the Refuse Ranger, we found her during a skirmish earlier this spring." Taab remembered the battle, how he had burned half a forest down to defeat their attackers and then used the old ship to make their way back to the Temple. "She's not much," he understated the issue, fact was the ship had taken a pounding, and was being used for spare parts for other vessels now. "Hyperdrive is out," well been removed with the parts being used to fix three separate shuttles, "and she's only rated for six passengers, but you all can make due for the short trip in the cargo hold." It wouldn't be comfortable, and there were larger ships better suited to carrying the strike team save one measure that Taab pointed out now.

"The ship is pretty banged up and the hanger rats were stripping her down when they discovered a pretty advanced sensor masking system." He left unsaid that he had intended that sensor masking system for his own ship. "It doesn't work right now, it's been...partially dismantled, but they assure me they can get it up and running within two days." He deactivated the holo and the lights came back up.

"Two days," the Grandmaster muttered under his breath before saying more loudly. "We'll need pilots assigned to the follow up shuttles," Taab nodded, that task would fall to him, "Jedi that may be called to action to board the ship in the worst case scenario." The Grand Master didn't think it would come to that, and his demeanor demonstrated that confidence. "In two days we will all be free of the Sith tyranny." He stood swiftly, smiling a broad smile. "Now, are there any other matters or questions we need concern ourselves with?"

    IC Ian Thrace
    Training Hall, Temple of Light

Ian listened to Master Kasumi as she tried to relate her own experiences with his own. It was a kind gesture, and he knew what she was doing. It just all seemed to pointless to him right now. "I understand the loss of a master, the need to go into hiding, and the want to be around people...no longer afraid." Sure she did, it seemed a tale as old as time with any Jedi. Some seemed able to get over it, some were luckier than others. Ian was neither of those. "I was in my final training stages at the Temple on Coruscent, and had just finished my Trial of the Flesh. I was healing, and then darkness came. The Temple was destroyed, I felt the loss of my Master, I felt the loss of the young ones, and had it not been for the medical staff....I would have died as well."

That didn't sound so different than Ian's story, but he had been taken from the Ossus Temple, unable to survive on his own. "I was able to make it to a safe place, was able to meet up with Masters that were left alive, and from then on lived my life in hiding. I was able to finish my training."Another advantage she had over him, he had barely begun lightsaber training when his Master had been killed. He was trying now, but he had so much to learn, and no time to learn it in. Not with the Sith on their doorstep. "But like you, the Jedi had to live apart and hidden. So, I became a master of hiding myself as well, and I used that time to learn about the society I lived in. I learned to modify what I had learned to fit the situation, I began to be able to delve deeper in the Force, and understand it better." The society he had lived in was one of thugs and criminals. Bullies who lived by the mantra that it was the way of things for the strong to prey upon the weak, and Ian was so weak...

They entered the training room and Ian was greeted with an assortment of training devices. Ropes for falling down, wooded dummies sure to break his hand and a open sparring area where his skill with a blade would only bring him shame and embarrassment. This couldn't get any worse.

"Just when I thought that the darkness couldn't get worse," she seemed to pull the words right from his mind and he turned red. The embarrassment had already begun. "It took my homeward, and my family. Even though they couldn't know where I was, were were always connected through the Force. I wanted nothing more than to take out my pain on the one that had caused so much pain to me." Now Ian felt a kindred spirit with Master Kasumi, he needed to learn how to deal with that pain. Permanently. "It was the same Sith each time...the same pair. But, I found a way to channel that pain..and fight against it with the people of the village that I was living in. We were small, but we won at the end of the day. We are a like in a lot of ways Thrace." Maybe, they were very much different though too, and Ian wondered which would win out, their similarities or their differences.

"I carry my first Master's saber." She showed it to him, another similarity as he carried one of his Master's sabers as well. "It was given to me by those that chose to not follow the darkness, and were loyal to her. I carry both my masters, my family, my homeward, and my village family with me in my heart. I have times that I can feel them in the Force. Being powerful for me is being able to win my own internal struggle with the dark everyday. Choosing to do what is right and what will help others. To be free to me...is being able to be me...not having to show my powers, butknowing when to show them." Ian just wanted to be free of the pain, the suffering he had been forced to endure, that he knew he would endure into the future. "The powers I have, and you have, are not who we are...they are just a part of us. We chose who we are, and who we show to others. As long as we are comfortable in our own skin...and with who are are...then we are free. There will always be fear and darkness as long as there is the light. Just know one cannot exist entirely without the other." Ian hung his head low, looking at the training room floor. Her words rang true, and that frightened him further. She placed a hand on his shoulder and he raised his eyes to met her's.

Ian looked around the room again, seeing nothing but places for him to fail. He was no great blades being, and any attempt to turn him into one was likely to see him headed to sick bay missing a limb. Climbing ropes, agility drills. Just more ways for him to hurt himself. He was neither fast not strong. None of those things helped him back on Coruscant as a petty thief and pick pocket, and he doubted he could develop them now. All that had helped then was his ability to disappear, to be so weak and pathetic that no one took notice of him. Then he knew was the time to take action, to grab that wallet when no one was looking. Distraction. Subtly getting someone to look the other way with the Force, always subtly so his secret didn't get out, so he could move in and slip those credits out of a purse.

It dawned on him, he had used those skills recently, in defense of himself and the Temple. He had used his hide to keep himself safe from the droids. His dexterity with the Force allowed him to drop the makeshift grenades down their backs and destroy them. His skill realized lay not in the art of combat to survive, but in remaining in the shadows, waiting the opportune moment to strike. He looked around the training hall, wondering how he could use these tools to hone that skill further when he was distracted by a loud knock at the door. He recognized the voice of Padawan Abyo calling out to him. "Hey Thrace, is that you in there?" Frightened for a moment, he looked to Master Kasumi for guidance. Should he answer, or should she?

To Say that Semajj was surprised when Healer Susruta put him forth as a candidate for the mission was putting it mildly. He was flabbergasted, terrified, excited, and confused all at once. The Jedi Padawan's first instinct was to look quizzically at the Ithorian just to be sure that he had heard what he though he had heard. And yet, a surprising calm came over him. He didn't know why, but he sensed that he belonged on this mission. Stepping forward before the Masters could respond he said with an unwavering tone. "I am capable of filling Knight Rands place in that part of the mission if you will have me." doing a slight bow with his words. And the Grand Master seemed to take him at his word for it. "Very well, if you think you can handle it padawan Nosrep, you will assist in rescuing the Jedi trapped in carbon freeze."

Semajj Smiled and took a step back to here he had been a moment earlier. He looked to the Healer once again, and caught Susruta's glance at him. No words were exchanged, but the meaning couldn't have been more clear. The Ongree took a small breath, and gave a toothy grin. He wasn't sure what to expect, but a part of him deep down was genuinely excited for this mission. His first real time in the field, on the front lines of this war. It made him almost giddy, yet it also carried quiet a weight of responsibility. One that he was afraid he might not be able to live up to.

    Training Room

Kasumi could feel Thrace's doubts about himself....about the training. She had had her own doubts going through training. She had to find a way to help him calm his fears and realize that he is more skilled than he thinks. After all he fought by her side to get back to the craft when they were surrounded by droids...he didn't have do help her...he could have frozen entirely or even kept walking towards the red blade. But he chose to help fight his way back from that darkness on that day....now all she had to do was to show him that that same fighting spirit is all she wanted to improve on...and to help him realize his own strength he had buried. What caused him to bury it was the real question. That answer would have to wait as she heard the voice of another outside the door.

"Thrace, this is your training area...if you want someone else to come in...that is up to you. Like I said, you make this training room yours, that includes who you want to let in."

With that Kasumi just stayed quiet and let Thrace make the choice.

There was not enough for him to speak and at the moment the Jedi who were here, who were the Guardians of Light, they were too fractured, too much hurting to withstand the breaks in protocol of his own questions, questions that would likely change nothing. Only one part niggled at him. He would voice it later, as this mission forced him to potentially 'stand by' Harbinger. Something which had him sucking at the inside of his trunk, twitching it slightly.

A light chatter ensued among the Jedi present discussing the particulars of the operation moments after Grandmaster Zey had finished giving out the assignments. Observing Harbinger still standing alone and motionless in the center of the room, Suraya approached the Sith and stood as close as would be appropriate for her to do so in such circumstances. She then spoke in a hushed tone only loud enough for him and those closest by to hear.

If you see this through…if what you say is true, I will do what I can to advocate for and help you, once this is all over. Even if it means only improving your conditions while in custody, I will not forget what you have done here, nor will I allow the others to do so.

She then paused and looked him carefully in the eye, You have my word…and I know that you know I’m telling you the truth, she added the last part with the smallest grin.

    Training Hall, Temple of Light

"Thrace, this is your training area...if you want someone else to come in...that is up to you. Like I said, you make this training room yours, that includes who you want to let in."

Ian blinked as he thought about that. His training area? Up to him who to let in or not? That seemed so liberating, so wonderful. Of course, Ian soon realized that it was also a lie. He couldn't let just anyone he wanted to help with his training. Master Kasumi would never allow her to take part here. He shook his head, hiding the frown on his face at the knowledge that even this so called freedom wouldn't allow him to see Darth Sixtus again. He sighed deeply. He had to focus on the issue at hand, should he allow Padawan Abyo in or not? His eyes drated back and forth as he considered how to answer Padawan Abyo. Did he want him in here helping him? Did he just want him to watch? Did he want to send him away?

    Ian didn't know.

Abyo hadn't been like most of the other Padawan's, teasing him mercilessly, berating him for not being able to do anything right. Of course he hadn't been any sort of friend to ian either, had never stood up for him or gone out of his way to empathize with him. He had been one of those spreading the rumors and outright lies about Darth Praedator that had frightened him so, but as Ian bit his lower lip and thought about it, had that been such a bad thing? Sometimes a little fear was a good motivator. He shrugged. He could use the help too, someone just a little more advanced than him to test himself against. Someone that if he could eclispe in ability would at least let Ian know he was advancing in his training, that he was getting somewhere.

He gave an earnest nod, wondering if he should inform Master kasumi of his decision before announcing it. She had said that this was his training room. Guess it was time to put that notion to the test.

"Padawan Abyo, is that you?" He shouted through the closed door. "Master Kasumi is helping me train, and I'd like it if you could join us!"

Again Kasumi saw the hesitation...there was something else....no someone else that had Thrace's attention. Then the pieces fell into place....the look she got from Sixtus when she asked Thrace to come with her. Was it that Thrace was being pulled toward the dark side...or something else? Kasumi decided that would be a conversation for later.

"Padawan Abyo, is that you?" He shouted through the closed door. "Master Kasumi is helping me train, and I'd like it if you could join us!"

Kasumi smiled. This was his training area...and his decision. Kasumi waited to hear the answer through the door as well.

    IC: Kai Dareagan
Council Chambers, Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

The Knight listens patiently as the Sith spouted more nonsense about the other becoming a Jedi. Kai's stomach turns at the thought of accepting someone like her into their ranks. Though he could feel his master's voice in the back of his head.

"No one is beyond forgiveness, no one is beyond the light." Kai grits his teeth. Master Sarr would have negotiated with the Emperor rather than fight him. When the Mandalorian suggested killing them both, the knight feels it was the first time the soldier and he ever agreed on something. However the young fighter is still bound by the orders of his superiors and, Grandmaster Zey made it very clear they were moving ahead with the plan laid out. They would use this Sith. Kai crosses his arms making his displeasure clear, slumping his shoulders forward eyes drooping a little as his fatigue began to settle back it.

He grunts slightly to himself forcing his eyes open wide and breathing deep. Taab is speaking going over the plan of attack. Two teams, one to hold the hanger, the other to assault the ship and take back the Jedi locked aboard in stasis. Kai wants on that team his fatigue be damned. He struggles to keep firm while the conversation drones on, all Kai knows is he wants on Aurek team, as Taab calls it.

"In either situation, you're going to have to seize the bridge." Kai's mind starts awake at hearing the dark one's voice. His skin crawls with each word out of the being's mouth. How can he stand his own voice? But, the Sith raises a good point, once the teams are onboard the leader will try to stop them, the head must be cut off. The young knight changed his mind, he wants on that team, Besh team.

"There might not be enough Jedi on a small team to accomplish all three goals General, the larger assault force would..." Taab interjects, but, is cut off by Zey.

"Nonsense," the Grand Master spoke, "I'll take control of Besh team and the mission to take the bridge and destroy Darth Cavillous." Kai nods his head that, it could work, if the young knight is on the team. "I'll need Knight Archisa," Kai tightens his fist, "Knight Da..." his eyes widen yes, he would bring an end to this nightmare. His azure blade would strike though the heart of darkness. "... Knight Rand. Sorry," Kai shakes his head, what, he'd already killed one Sith, so had Archisa, Besh team needs the best warriors, and he's it. Why would Zey leave him off. The rest of Besh team went past him, he didn't care anymore.

"Aurek team, the rescue team, will be led by Master Kasumi and comprised of Knight's Loother and Dareagen," The knight let out a breath, at least he is still on the mission, "Along with Knight Letali, Eira Dryn and…and padawan Thrace." There's some consternation between Zey and Piim as to the readiness of the padawan, Kai is just glad Letali would be with him on this one, he could use her calm demeanor on this one. As the young knight finally checked out of the conversation he hears the Healer mention padawan Nosrep joining Kai's team. The Ongree might need a little training before the mission, by his own admission he wasn't much of a fighter. However that would have to wait, until Kai is more rested.

As they were dismissed the knight clamps a hand over Nosrep's shoulder. "Meet me in the training hall tomorrow morning, we've got work to do." He says quietly as he passes by. After that, he finds a quiet spot and finally closes his eyes. In the back of his eyelids he sees his friends, the ones back home, the ones he left behind, soon he'd be with them again, part of him couldn't wait.

Semajj was looking forward to getting some shut eye, though he doubted he would get much sleep with the apprehension of the coming mission weighing on his shoulders. He had read the stories of war, imagined the adventures, and excitement they would bring. But he knew he was ill prepared for them. Perhaps a few rounds against training droids would calm his nerves.

Once the meeting was excused his first instinct was to head to his dorm and try to get some sleep, but he didn't even take a single step before I felt a hand on his shoulder. Turning his eye's focused on Jedi Dareagan. The man seemed concerned about something, though Semajj couldn't place it. As the human spoke it became clear though. . "Meet me in the training hall tomorrow morning, we've got work to do." The Ongree was surprised, but didn't hesitate before he responded. "Yes Master..." he quickly spoke before thinking. He left his words hanging as the man passed by and was gone. Maybe he didn't notice his slip of the tongue?

Padawan Nosrep shook his head trying to focus past his exhaustion. He took one more look at the few Jedi left in the chamber, then turned around and left the room. It was going to be a long night.

Zey could feel the mixed emotions swirling around the Council Chambers. Consternation from Knight Trevalus, excitement and pride from padawan Nosrep, weariness and determination from Knight Daregen and above all...hope from Knight Archisa. Hope had been something in short supply around the Temple these days, and so it was for the latter that Zey was the most thankful. She approached the Sith, and spoke to him in hushed tones, the meaning of which Zey couldn't quite make out, but the response from Harbinger was immediate and readily apparent to all in the room.

"The truth?" He asked with a smile before continuing on. "The truth, master Jedi, shall set us both free."

    IC: Master Piim (NPC)
    TCC, Temple of Light

From her place in the TCC, Master Piim stood watch over those manning the consoles. If Darth Cavillous chose this moment to launch an attack, or if the Grand Master's mission failed it would be up to her to lead the defense of the Temple, to ensure the survival of the Guardian's of Light. She knew she was up to such a challenge, but it was a task she hoped she would not be forced to face.

The last two days had been spent going over the mission details as well as healing up, recuperating, preparing themselves in mind, body and soul for this final battle. Padawan Nosrep had been undergoing training under Knight Dareagen, while padawan Thrace had been undergoing his own training from Master Kasumi, assisted by padawan Abyo. Master Piim had grown rather fond of that arrangement as it helped to train Abyo as well, who had not been assigned to a new master just yet. Neither of the latter had been included on the mission, Abyo because he was not ready, and Thrace in large part due to Master Piim's own reservations about him. The two had become nigh inseparable though during their training with Master Kasumi and even now they were down in one of the training halls keeping one another company. The Togruta master was glad for that, it had not been made public knowledge, but she had made it very clear to padawan Thrace himself that he wasn't to see Darth Sixtus again, at least not unless supervised by at least a Knight. It was good therefor that he was being kept busy by another padawan, lest he be tempted now to defy her order.

With a heavy sigh she noted the launch of the Refuse Ranger, aboard which held their hopes of ending the current crisis. Grand Master Zey had seen to it the previous day that Darth Harbinger had been provided with the codes that Knight Loother had managed to obtain. The information seemed to make the Sith happier than it should have, and Piim found herself once more feeling reservations about all of this, but there was nothing as could be done to halt their momentum now. They were committed, they had to see this through to the end.

Looking at her screens, she saw there seemed to be no reaction from the Hellfire upon the Ranger's liftoff, as Piim mouthed the words simply to herself. "May the Force be with you." to those brave Jedi about to undertake their dangerous assignment. Around the TCC status boards were updated as the other shuttles checked in from the landing bay where they were standing by to bring back those who would be rescued.

    TAG: No One.

    IC: padawan Abyo (NPCs)
    Training Hall, Temple of Light.

The training hall was empty now, devoid of all others save the two padawans that sat with their legs crossed in the center of the room on the floor. The past two days and been a blur of activity, training for not only padawan Thrace but for padawan Abyo as well. His master, Knight Kurkak, had been killed during the mission to the Sith basecamp, blown out of the sky never having had a chance to defend himself. That fate seemed so wrong to the padawan, it bothered him that the Jedi Knight had never had the chance to face his attacker, to defend himself from the droid that had taken his life, and all the others aboard that shuttle. It left an emptiness within him that the training with padawan Thrace under Master Kasumi's tutelage had helped him fill. At least for a little while.

There had been no time for ceremony, or even simple decisions assigning him a new master. That could wait until after the Hellfire was taken, after the Jedi were free, the Grand Master had said. Padawan Abyo felt certain that their leader also felt it pointless to create new pairings right now, not when it was uncertain if those pairings would even survive the day. New Jedi would be brought back though, and perhaps one of those would agree to accept Abyo as his or her padawan learner. Until then though all he could do was wait.

Even through the waiting he'd kept himself busy training as much as he could, learning as Master Kasumi taught padawan Thrace. He was strong with the force, stronger probably than Abyo, but he seemed to need a lot of encouragement. Abyo had found himself growing closer to the other padawan, and as their training was forced to pause due to the new mission being launched, both had somehow found their way here where at least they didn't have to be alone. Both had been left behind, even if due to differing circumstances. Abyo wasn't sure of those surrounding padawan Thrace, though of course he had heard rumors.

He shivered unexpectedly, it was actually rather warm right now in the training hall, the result of the sudden build up of anxiety in the Temple that he could feel through the Force. He knew padawan Thrace had to feel it too. "Guess that mean's they're out there now." He said to Ian, "Sure wishen' ah could be up there too, don'chu?"

IC: General Hector Zey/Beskaryc Taab/Knight Elim Rand (NPC)/Darth Harbinger (NPC)
    Refuse Ranger, approaching the Hellfire

Taab brought the old battered cargo hauler out of the hanger bay on minimal power. He was doing his best to keep the ship's power signature to a minimum and had deactivated all non essential systems. Even the comms had been shut down in an effort to help the sensor masking system do it's work. beside him in the cockpit was The General (Hector Zey) while the rest of the Jedi (along with Darth Harbinger) were back in the cargo hold where two benches had been crudely bolted along both the starboard and port bulkheads. It wasn't what Taab would call cramped back there, but it wouldn't be the most comfortable ride for them either.

"Now exiting the atmo," Taab reported the the mission commander before pointing out of the view screen towards the dagger shaped object higher still above them. "There she is, the Hellfire." The General leaned forward to get a better look. Not since the vessel had arrived and engaged the Guardian's fighter patrol had anyone been out here to directly observe the Sith Star Destroyer. No challenge was issued to them as the Ranger crept closer and closer, no change in the Hellfire's attitude nor fighters launched their way. Taab took that to be a sign that he was doing something right, and the sensor masking system was doing it's job.

"Guess now we find out if that code is worth the price we paid," Taab offered sardonically.

"It'll work, it'll work," the General assured, though his tone of voice did little to convince Taab who yelled back into the cargo hold behind them. "OK, dar'jetii (Sith), you're up."

Back in the cargo hold the Mandalorian's words rang out bringing a smile to Darth Harbinger's face. He was sitting on the floor of the small cargo vessel, his hands chained with stun cuffs, though over Taab's objections his legs had not been manacled. The Grand Master had reasoned it would be easier and faster to move him around if he was unencumbered should they need him in the Hellfire's hanger bay. Facing forward, the Sith first looked to his right where Knight Loother sat on the hard bench next to Knight Rand.

She had given him the codes as requested by the Jedi's Grand Master, though he doubted she would have been so forthcoming without being order to do so. Beside them along the right side of the ship were Master Kasumi along with padawan Ka, and Knights Vomkoju and Reese. There was of course Knight Trevalus there as well. The sight of the Kubaz knight caused a sickening flash of yellow to harbinger's eyes though it soon faded. He knew their time was fast approaching.

With a sudden scowl, he forced himself to look to the other side of the shuttle, where on their own bench sat Knight Archisa at the front, the Jedi who had done so much to welcome him and Sixtus to the temple. She had seen much, and would more still, though a part of her own future remained clouded to the Sith Seer. Beside her was Knight Dareagen and his Ongree padawan, Nosrep followed by Eira Dryn and Knights Arer, Menal and Letali. The last of these blinked her large Mon Calimari eyes and gave a short wave to Knight Dareagen, the one who had killed Praedator. The two were close. Harbinger smiled his own predatory grin. Excellent.

"Dar'jetii," the Mandalorian bellowed back again, his voice echoing through the cargo hold. "Did you hear me? It's time!" Harbinger closed his eyes, searching out the remains of Darth Shaga's mind. It was there, close. So close now, it was almost time...

"I heard you Mandalorian," Harbinger finally replied sensing that the Jedi's lapdog was getting impatient with him. He connected at last with Shaga's mind, relaying to him the codes and the desire to lower the shields. "The shield will be down in moments," he murmured more to himself than anyone else, though the others in the cargo hold would be able to hear him. What remained of Shaga was resisting him, acknowledging the codes, but not wanting to trust in Harbinger's desire to lower them. Some coaxing then would be needed, and Harbinger conveyed to him partially his plan, his prophecy. Still Shaga resisted, he was not what he once was, but he still had that desire to preserve what remained of himself. Harbinger conveyed to him what this would mean for Darth Cavillous, the Sith who had betrayed him and made him...what he was now and Shaga at last relented.

At once Harbinger's eyes flew open "It's done," he shouted forward and those in the cargo hold could feel the Ranger accelerate towards the Hellfire. Taab's instruments must have confirmed what Harbinger had told him. Harbinger smiled, looking to the others in the cargo bay. "I have proven my worth now, my sincerity." He lifted his chained hands. "Are these still necessary? At least furnish me with a weapon. A vibroblade, something."*

    Bound for the Hellfire

Kasumi sat in the hold just mentally preparing herself doe what lay ahead. Her walls were up 100% as there was a Sith in the same space that she was in. She couldn’t allow him to know her power, until it was needed. If there were those in the Force that would scan the ship through it, they would sense one less presence…but not know who it was. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She let her mind wander over the last few days.

    Memory

Thrace had decided to let Abyo in to train with him. Kasumi learned that there was yet another padawan that had lost a master, but more recently than Thrace. Kasumi shared her story one more time with Abyo to let him know that he was not alone and that because his master had passed did not mean his training would end.

The first half of the first day Kasumi assessed what each padawan had been taught and then built brief teachings for them each. She helped them work together, to pull on the strengths that each held, and to help strengthen the one weakness at a time. She was not a miracle worker, and she knew it was only a matter of time before another mission was going to be launched. She had a feeling that sabers would be of little use if the Sith were to attack the Temple…so she asked that they focus on hand to hand while she was there. And that is what they did. One move at a time, one step, slow at first…then to pick up the pace.

It had been late the night before the mission and Kasumi, as always, couldn’t sleep. She had chosen to go to the training room to practice. She brought Buddy with her to help guard the door. After using her friend to help record separate messages to both the padawans , she turned to the wooden dummy and began on step at at time.

Each strike was meaningful and with each strike she drew on the strength and speed from the Living Force. As she dove deeper into the Force and her movements she felt her mind clear, and her breathing slow. No one else had told her about what would happen as she lived year after year, connecting herself to the Force. Sure she had had conversations with those who had passed, and had been able to see more Force ghosts in the last few weeks….but the changes in her were the things that she hadn’t been warned about. Her speed had increased, significantly. Her abilities had increased at the same rate. And now tapping into the Force meant a change in her eye color….if even for a moment, but it had begun to stay longer and longer each time. She didn’t know if this mission would mean a permanent change or not. That was the reason Buddy still had to guard the door….. she wasn’t sure of anyone’s reaction to her change in skill or anything else for that matter.

After a few hours of training, Kasumi left the training room and went to each of the places that the padawans were sleeping and left the recorded messages for them. Then she want to finish packing for this trip and give her instructions to Buddy as she left again. She took a look at the holocron of her family, her planet, and her Endor home, and again asked Buddy to keep them safe. She spent the rest of the time in meditation in the cargo bay…preparing for anything. She knew both padawan would understand the message she had left, and she hoped that she would return to them. If the Force did not see it that way, she had left lessons for each programmed into Buddy, with instruction for him to give those lesson videos to them if she did not return.

Thrace, I know that you worry that you will disappoint not only yourself but those you care about. You spoke of letting your other master down, but I don’t see that in you. We both did what we had to survive and for that, there is no shame. There is no shame in feeling connected to another either. If I’m wrong then I apologize, but that was not your first time down to the hold. And if I read the look right, you are infatuated….possibly in love with someone who is being held there. Know that that can be a power all of its own. It can be used for good, for evil, and your want for that connection could be used against you. And that is each time that you open your heart to someone. But how do you know which it is? You don’t. You just have to try and see. I hope that the Force guides you through that. I also hope to return to you and continue your training as I see so much in you. I know you doubt yourself, but you only do that because you don’t want to scare others off with your powers. Believe me I do understand that as well. Before I end this message, there is someone else here who wants to give you a message of their own.

Abyo, I know that your desire to be the best and to be in the heat of battle is at the front of your mind. Don’t rush the thoughts of rushing into battle to prove yourself, because the battle comes too soon for all of us. Take each day as it comes, and learn from those around you. Learn from Thrace, your fellow padawans, and the other Jedi around you. You are not alone Abyo, just remember that. Before I end this message, there is someone else here who wants to give you a message of their own.

    End Memory

Kasumi hadn’t stayed around to hear each Masters message, but she hoped that their messages helped their padawans. It was a skill she would have to explain at some point. But now it was time to focus on the plan ahead….the plan they were flying to quicker than she cared to think about.
