The SW video games music thread

With our mod Seagoat giving his approval to this thread, this is where post and talk about SW music from any SW video game.

I'll start by posting this classic.

 

Brings me back to starting character creation and just sitting there to listen to it
And might I share this amazing piece that I doubt most have heard due to it being cut content

 

The Force Unleashed had some really great music:

 

Even though it's from the movies, I've also liked Leia's theme in Battlefront 2.

 

Republic Commando had some nice tribal music, very different to normal Star Wars, but still really good:

So you know Republic Commando? Awesome. I was really disappointed we never got a sequel.

 

I enjoyed it the first time I played it, especially the Republic cruiser level. I loved fighting right to the end to save the ship.

I find it a bit hard to get into now, but I have some fond memories.

 

I always liked fighting the Trandoshans. They'd always say some junk, and would knife them to shut them up.

 

I really liked firing their shotguns. That felt very satisfying.

 

As was blowing up their dropship towards the end of the assault ship level.

Also TOR has some good stuff too.

 

Battlefront's soundtrack is awesome. Even though there aren't any long flowing pieces of music, Gordy Haab's new themes for the Rebellion and the Empire are dotted all over the soundtrack to this game, and they are very good.



The Rebellion victory theme begins at 0:20 seconds in the video. Very triumphant and heroic.

The Imperial theme sounds a lot like The Droid March from Episode 1, but it keeps enough of that Imperial flare to sound new and exciting.

 

This is music from actual game play, not the "official score" that was released in conjunction with the whole Shadows of the Empire project. Personally, this is some of the best Star Wars music there is. I listen to it regularly.

The majority of those are original trilogy pieces.

 

There's a lot of borrowed elements and exact segments that originated from the original trilogy score, but I always thought for the most part what appears in the game is specific to the game.

 

Love this track in SWTOR. It's the House of Organa theme on Alderaan. It kind of reminds me of a track from The Force Awakens right before Rey goes downstairs in Maz's place.

 

I actually just made some higher quality versions of some of the N64 soundtrack for Shadows of the Empire. I like the shorter versions of the soundtrack that was featured on the n64 as opposed to the longer tracks from the PC version.

I love how it has a very specific sound, reminds me of the Renaissance. It's very fitting for Alderaan, because it is just like European royalty behind all the technological advancements.

 

SWTOR in general, just has some great tracks. Love the part at the 0:55 mark in that song.
