Bought a ticket for the new Aladdin tonight.

I was 10 when the original animated version came out, and I saw it 8 times in the theater.

 

Seeing it on Sunday! Taking my sister and my mom, I remember seeing the original as a kid, too. Aside from Will Smith as the Genie (love the actor, but no... Robin Williams IS Genie), it looks pretty promising.

 

*pokes head out of the rafters* Will Smith? Seriously? I haven’t paid much attention to the details behind this, but I’m with @QueenSabe7 here. Nobody can hold a candle to Robin Williams as Genie. I’ll pass.

Crazy weather today in the DC metro area. There was a thunderstorm that sent all the stoplights on US-29/Lee Highway on strike, so I took the back way home.

Still working on Star Wars: Cross Current. Not much time to read these days.

 

I've got two books going:
- Le Morte d'Arthur
- Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

 

I'm in the midst of Macbeth. That is, I shall be reenacting it with fellow humans.

 

Just started reading SW: Bloodline.

 

Seriously, Will Smith did a great job as Genie. He brought his own flair to it.

It had all of the original songs, minus Jafar's Prince Ali Reprise. Jasmine had her own song (including a reprise towards the end of the film), and Arabian Nights had new lyrics (apart from the slight change from the original when then the original Aladdin was released on home video).
