I'm glad people are talking about this here; I wasn't sure where else to bring it up (and I typically don't get involved in politics here). I second the question involving why on Earth he's still driving. They took my grandfather's keys away from him when he got lost driving in South Florida in his late 80s.

What's royal lineage worth if you don't have a couple of privileges here and there? ;)

Uh no. I just read about the story online and was curious as to what the heck he was doing behind the wheel.

Let me rephrase that: WHY WAS HE DRIVING AT 97 YEARS OLD?

Isn't there a dedicated Giving a **** About The Royals Thread for this sort of thing? Aristocrats are a distraction from moaning about Brexit.

    Quick poll:
    Brexit = Brecksit or Breggzit?

    Yes more puns.

"Brexit" has an interesting etymology. It's a really bad pun. But it was fashioned after Grexit, wasn't it?
Maybe Brexit will go the way of Grexit.

After Greg's it, and if you've watched House M.D. you know why that's a problem.

    Let me rephrase that again:
Why was he allowed to drive at all?

I heard on the radio news today that the local council had been looking at reducing the speed limit on that road (it's an A road and normally the limit is 60 MPH). News said the council was going to reduce it to 50 MPH and put up speed cameras.

I think Aviva should run a sequel to their "I had to react because a horse wearing a dress ran across the road, followed by a tin man" ad. :p

"Here was I, innocently driving along, when suddenly A WILD DUKE OF EDINBURGH APPEARS!"

    :p

Things are now getting seriously scary.

Nothing is more important to May than Tory party unity. She cancelled the cross-party talks at the weekend, having terminally killed them at the start by announcing she wouldn’t compromise anything in her position.

The IMF has now come out and said there could be a global economic effect from Britain crashing out of the EU.

To anyone else this would be reason to change course, but I suspect to May it only validates her position. Why? Because if it is that bad then the EU will have to give in to her, they won’t possibly allow it to happen.

Never before has there been such high stakes with a PM willing to sacrifice the national and international interest for that of the party.

Which is partly why her stubbornness is so baffling. Her party can't challenge her with a leadership contest for another year and her government won the vote of confidence in parliament. Plus she's already said she won't lead the Tories at the next election, so what exactly is the point of all this?
