Heh. Many EU nationals in the UK will be left exposed - the poor, isolated, ill informed - that is for sure. But thankfully not us. We’re as close to watertight as it’s possible to get. Mentally worn to the bone in the process, too, of course. And critically, the (very high) fees for citizenship are not a problem. So we can just do it. Keep ourselves safe. That makes us lucky. If such a word could ever be applied to a situation like Brexit.

“Brexit could increase the population living in extreme poverty in EBA countries by nearly 1.7 million,” the authors wrote. “These are conservative estimates of Brexit’s negative impacts; they do not take into account the additional implications of uncertainty, depreciation of the pound sterling, reduced aid spending, remittances and investments.”

Given the appalling state the UK is likely to be in, living in the EU might turn out to be a better option.

Regarding Tusk's comments; he's completely right. Anyone who campaigned for Brexit without the consideration for the possible disruption of the Good Friday Agreement are terribly immoral.

For most of us Ireland wasn't even a second thought, the issue was solved.

Those of us who lived through Warrington and Manchester Arndale etc... were pleased with the GFA and the fact that the worry was done with.

Those who pushed Brexit didn't and don't care

Those who voted for Brexit in the main probably weren't aware and for a vast portion of them even if they were aware they didn't care.
Just look at the likes of Mogg and Johnson now who are ignoring the patent threat that is now bubbling, we've recently had a car bomb there and if we end up with the border (which legally HAS to happen in the event of no deal) then we will end up with issues again

Even Baroness Warsi admits its just a mistake (all the while still towing the line)

We are well past face-planting, a weak, effeminate activity. No, now we are into full, macho 'prove yourself well 'ard' territory of full headbutt into concrete from a 90 degree vertical position.

May has destroyed her own agreement, destroyed her credibility and has only aim left: Keep the Conservatives united.

The Irish, the North, the Scots, the Welsh, business, the local, national, European and global economy? **** it all.

    it's looking there'll be delay to article 50 .

    either that or a no-deal .

    or another referendum .

or a temporary deal with optional non-backstops and Danny Dyer taking over as Chancellor .

it's all definitely in hand .

A delay is absolutely essential at this point. No way can we just march into ruin out of bloodymindedness.

    ...

Sorry I thought for a moment we were living in pre-2016 UK for a moment there. Of course we can.

A second referendum would be perfect but the parliamentary arithmetic doesn't seem to support it.

I'm watching the utter ***** JRM on question time now and fighting the urge to throw things at the TV

that in all honesty is a regular stance.

If we crash out on the 29th though then there will be unrest on the streets and not long after the crap will hit the fan.

Brexit was moronic to begin with and should NEVER have been given to the public especially after a rake of austerity that was erroneously blamed elsewhere rather than on the policies of the godawful tory party

Is it too much to ask for a good social democratic party in the UK that isn't incompetent, embarrassing or insane?

Which of those apply to the Liberal Democrats?

I'm disappointed that Labour is doing what the tories should be doing. I'm disappointed that the local Labour parties won't just be able to deselect the splitters, because they've left the party.

This is the worst possible timing. They could have done this years ago. Are they trying to force another Tory government on us?

Honda now added to the nothing to do with Brexit closure list.

    Nissan
    Panasonic
    Sony
    Dyson
    Ford
    Jaguar Land Rover
    Phillips
    Hitachi
    Toshiba

All have some form of manufacturing process in the UK with massive exports into the EU (which will be subject to tariffs after Brexit and have a high risk to just on time manufacturing once we leave the CU)

All have announced the pending closure of some, most or all of their manufacturing in the UK (Honda pending confirmation tomorrow)

but none of this including the collapse in growth and investment etc etc have nothing to do with Brexit at all.

Oh no, all these companies would conveniently all have decided to shut up shop now if we were still in the EU.
