Dorries may resign in error but thats not going to be a bad thing.

Johnson is toast now. There's no coming back from this. He has to go.

How many more? Tho I can't say I'm sorry to see Sunak go - he started well but has shafted UK taxpayers while he and his formerly non-dom wife are raking it in. We need a Chancellor who lives in the real world..

I try not to drink during the week. I'm not great at it but I try not to.

I may have to pop out for some wine at this rate.

    Regarding who's next

Wallace has always appeared to have some honour, I could see him resigning. Gove still has leadership aspirations so him stepping down may just make him appear credible to some voters.

I suspect we may see another tonight

    edit:

The flip side to Johnson resigning is seeing him double down, reshuffle (Fabricant will then become a minister as a result of his support) and he'll then call a snap election

Grabbing the popcorn! Here we go :)

Seriously though, no expectation he'll take the (massive) hint and finally go himself. He'll try and brazen on but the end is more firmly in sight than ever. He's done.

Just flipped over to parliament TV (because yes, I do watch it quite frequently) and they are currently taking the piss out of the Tory's for the resignations. They are utterly doubling down on their criticism.

    It's a delight to see

I won’t underestimate BoJo’s ability to brazen this out. This should finish him off, but he regenerates like a starfish. His biggest advantage is his sneering sense of superiority and utter contempt for us plebs.

Rumours abound that Zahawi could be next

That would be Health, Treasury and Education in one day

    Please make it so.

I do think if he was going to do it, he would have done so by now though as a trifecta in such a short space of time would be the perfect set up for an announcer to shout "FINISH HIM"

Just read that Sunak and Javid weren't coordinated so any other going in response might take a little while.

Then they both timed it impeccably for when Johnson had his pre recorded BBC interview go out, which to be fair was the best time.

As they've started, I would hope it allows others to grow that backbone they need and to get their letters in and force him out.

If not we run the risk of Dorries in charge of health and Fabricant being brought in to look after culture. Mogg could be promoted to Education which is just a horrifying though, almost as bad as if he was brought into health or culture.

OH GOD, it's just all awful. Please just get rid of him

EDIT - Truss and Gove have come out and said they're not resigning and Wallace has too showing he has less honour than expected

Boris is likely to stick it out. He'd rather see the country go up in flames than relinquish one iota of power.

I'm going to have horrible nightmares tonight of a decapitated Boris growing a new body, blob by blob out of his neck, even as his head continues to yammer away with lies, bluster and verbal diarrhoea.

    I don't care.

They are all complicit, all up to their necks in this. This isn"t some moment of moral clarity, this is a load of people in 150% "cover thine arse" mode.

And no, Johnson will not resign or leave voluntarily.

Gullis has gone and the vice chair of the Conservatives resigned live on air

Multiple PPS's and Envoys have now resigned from their roles today. Into double figures I believe

A new possiblity is that so many positions are left empty that Boris has to run the entire government himself which will end in combustion.

You know, I feel like I've said "There's no way Boris Johnson politically survives this..." about as many times as I say "Okay, I think it's finally dead..." while trying to kill a cockroach, but this time might actually be it.

Zahawi’s chancellor and Barclay’s health secretary. BoJo isn’t planning on going anywhere.
