Evangelical con artist preachers have been the selling the "repent because the world is about to end!" malarkey for generations now. Pat Roberston alone I think claimed twice the world was going to end so you better "Repent" aka give me money "Or else".

The ironic part it's written in black and white in the Bible that not even Jesus knew the time or how the world would end as, "Only the Father knows" yet so many of these television evangelicals con artists say they know so again pay up or else.

But again those are parts of the Bible, MAGA/Evangelicals love to ignore. Heck it's going get to the point they are pretty much ignoring Jesus as well. I think like many things the press has not given enough attention to the likes of Rick Warren and Beth Moore breaking away from the southern Baptist church and not just due to sexism that is taking place there. A lot of has to do with them saying, "We need to follow the teachings of Jesus more including turning the other cheek" to which other "preachers" saying that is too weak for today's society.

And people who wonder why many Evangelicals no longer believe in the divinity of Jesus. They are there for the racism and bigotry as they try to push their self delusional superiority on others.

Governor Sarah Huckabee declared a 'state of emergency' for Arkansas due to the eclipse.
What's the emergency? The eclipse is (somehow) going to impact the 'flow of essential goods' to residents. So, naturally it involves:
A) Giving taxpayer money to companies
B) "Temporarily" removing regulations on delivery drivers (like, you know, mandatory rest periods, limits on how long they can drive straight through)
The 'emergency' was declared on Friday and lasts through Wednesday.

 

A four-day emergency for a three-hour event from the governor of a red state. Go figure.

 

13 other states were in the same line but didn't declare an emergency. Keep in mind, too, that Huckabee had known for months that the state was going to have tons of visitors, so naturally, she waited until the last minute to do any planning.

In a likely bid to delay his trial, Donald Trump has sued the New York judge in his hush money criminal case - which is due to begin next week.

Mr Trump asked an appellate court to change the location of the trial, according to BBC's US partner CBS News.

He is also asking to dismiss an expanded gag order that limits his ability to comment on the case, the media outlet has reported.

 

Listen, let him file as many frivolous lawsuits as he wants- but first jail him for violating his gag order.

Then we'll see how fast he wants to go to trial.
