The FBI is preparing to disband a team of specialists charged with combating foreign threats to US elections, a source familiar tells CNN.

The shuttering of the FBI Foreign Influence Task Force and planned reassigning of team members follows a directive from incoming and newly sworn in US Attorney General Pam Bondi dissolving the team.

previously said the purpose of the team was “to identify and counteract the full range of malign foreign influence operations targeting our democratic institutions and our values. The task force now brings together the FBI’s expertise across the waterfront — counterintelligence, cyber, criminal, and even counterterrorism — to root out and respond to foreign influence operations.”

Interestingly my mom came up to me and asked how one can call or contact their representatives that’s the first time she has ever asked. Wanted to call and ask them what they’re doing about Elon Musk.

my mom is probably just above the average American in terms of political awareness. And that’s mostly because side I talk about it a lot

Well, someone finally did something

Elon Musk’s D.O.G.E (Department of Government Efficiency) just got slapped with a major legal block. A federal judge has today officially barred Elon and his team from accessing the US Treasury’s payment system.

Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly issued the order after Elon boasted on Monday that his team was “rapidly shutting down” government remittances. The Treasury’s payment network processes trillions annually, including Social Security and Medicare disbursements, which Elon claimed were taking way too much from the government’s budget.

 

I only wish she had stopped them from access ANY government agencies, facilities, networks etc.

It's absurd that they should be granted any standing at all- They are not a real department. They are not following any protocols, regulations, etc. And they are torching everything they touch. Decades to get us back to where we were is generous. The only option would be for a true FDR Democrat to come in and clean house top to bottom and restore everything back to what it was and only then restore limits on the executive branch- which is a TERRIBLE idea because it means another King for a president and we see what that looks like now. The problem is one party has completely abdicated their role in government and has to go by force. The other is too timid to take the necessary action needed for our government to stop this crazy man.

And with that I'm going out to buy some beer! I give it six weeks before the entire government is completely hollowed out. Soon it'll take nothing more than a mild breeze to knock it over. All these Trump voters can rot in hell.

It's too late about Musk. The only person who could get rid of him at this point is Trump.

Step 1: Hollow out the government so that its completely non-functional in any way that doesn't fully support Trump's agenda.
Step 2: Stop all future federal elections due to X reasons. Make voting for anyone other than Trump/GOP illegal. (Like they just did in TN)
Step 3: No one left in DC to actually stop them from doing it. USSC doesn't intervene.

 

I can think of someone else that could get rid of Musk. I think he's a bit south of State College right now.

 

To really piss him off, I'd love it if she had some attire that indicated "End Racism" be it a bracelet, necklace or the back of her jacket. That would give the MAGAts a nice aneurism.

Luigi. Although according to Wikipedia, after arraignment in Altoona (which is "a bit south of State College"), he's been extradited to New York and is in jail there without bond.

Newsweek's basis for the story was only a reddit post. The article says: "Newsweek contacted the Department of State and the Reddit user who first posted the photograph for comment on Thursday outside regular office hours via email and Reddit direct message, respectively."

However, since they didn't get an immediate response for either, they posted the article anyway, even though it's written by British journalist who just happens to be stationed in the UK right now, rather than, you know, sending a journalist to drive down to the State Department to see if the flag there was actually flying upside down. It went viral from there.

Glad to know the 4th Estate is at the top of its game in these fraught times.

We all know that he wanted to say the second thing about Afghanistan, as well. The Bush administration killed a million civilians in Iraq, and now that Trump is willing to escalate things to the neoconservatives' level, I'm scared. Trump, like other presidents of both parties, should have been incarcerated long ago.

He fired the head of the Federal Election Commission and she's not going. She reminded him there is a proper, legal way to do it and that wasn't it.
