ATM the Democrat lead has already shrunk in the House. Current is D 189 (-4) - (+4) 183 R, with 63 more races to be called.

It would probably look like a similar percentage for the entire country, to be honest.

I was looking at the AP electoral map. I wonder why Trump would want to stop the vote counting. If that happens he loses. He's losing in Nevada, Michigan and Wisconsin, which would give Biden exactly 270 votes. If Trump wins the rest of the states he still falls short.

Because he thinks he's winning those states and the difference was made up out of thin air to bring him down.

But it's too late now. Those votes are counted. So now he has to hope that he has more in-person votes sitting around in AZ, NE, PA, WI, wherever, to overcome the mail-ins that are now being counted. And then...on top of that...use the courts or ask for recounts and hope things shift in such a way that he can delegitimize/toss out those absentee ballots wholesale.

    That's a pretty insane gambit.

And as someone just mentioned, typically recounts only end up shifting votes by the hundreds. Trump is down by 20K in WI, 30K in MI, etc etc. That would be almost impossible to overcome. So again, he's hoping to sow distrust in the election and try his best to toss out mail in ballots by the thousands.

Biden has won Wisconsin. Trump campaign has demanded a recount and has filed suit in Michigan to stop the ballot counting.

Flailing now. No grounds to stop the counting. I believe what they want is to have more observers present as they open ballots so they can try to challenge them.

They’re desperate to stop counting the votes.

Ranked choice it sounds like. Enough people had her as second choice that she managed to win?

Given the numbers involved, my guess is that it was going to be very close if it was just Collins v Gideon, especially if one presumes that most of Savage's votes would've gone to Gideon, which would bring it up to 50-47 and it gets close quite quickly.

The Democrats are absolutely the worst major political party in the world. They are just amazingly bad at politics.

Oh dear, no, far from it. In five years, from 2012 to 2017, our Parti Socialiste went from holding the Presidency, the Assemblée Nationale and the Sénat (head of state + both chambers of parliament) to polling barely above 5% for President, becoming irrelevant in the Assemblée Nationale after losing 90% of their MPs, and losing more than half of their members in the Sénat.

At least when your center-left party fails, you have sane alternatives.
