Yet we assume that FF characters are all what, level 99? And have all spells and items with prep, even if the side quest to get the item takes a player a week to complete? Where is the rule on that?

As a matter of fact, Chim, no they're not. Never have been. Leveling RPG characters to level 99 is almost always a clear case of overkill, and it's never been the standard. Not once, not ever. And no, if the quest for a certain item, weapon or spell is too outlandish, it won't be considered. *gasp* That's part of the reason Knights of the Round is outlawed! Fancy that! Of course, the absurd level of power is grants is another factor, but the fact that one has to go way out of their way for it by doing things that would take well over 24 hours to accomplish may just be the bigger reason.

So, again, why don't you go ahead and decide on your pick insted of going out of your way to take issue with everything I say.

A quick question about team Foxhound: This would be as they were in Foxhound? Would Revolver get his experience from MGS 2(grafted arm, etc), or would it be when they were together as Foxhound?

Not really a big deal, just something I was wondering.

Also, just no Magus Sisters? What's the reasoning behind that, and not, say, Anima, who, if you ask me, is a lot more powerful. Maybe that's just my opinion and maybe it is wrong.

Ocelot gets his experience from all the games.

And the Magus Sister's seemed equally powerful in terms of offense from what I recall, but the fact that they represent not just one, but three seperate targets (all of which are very tough) that need to be taken down, kinda puts them over the edge. And IIRC, their overdrive just went beyond stupid in terms of damage. Beyond even Anima's.

Durron I really wasn't being an ass and I really don't just do or say things to start trouble with you, though you may think so. See this is why we have problems, you assume (you know what happens then) and then you get all defensive. You are always so quick to say I over react and there is a conspiracy of you out to get me, but it seems to me the pot is calling the kettle black on this one. You do jump on things I say too.

Me asking why you hate them is a joke. I was asking because yes you did complain about him last draft. You kept saying that Shadow isn't that powerful, plenty of people can do what he does and are plenty better at it too, blah blah. So are you saying that you didn't complain about him at all then? I remember Zizz trying valiantly to defend Shadow against someone in the last draft and you jumping all over it, just like you do. Then, it's just a guess but the judges were probably like, 'oh well since Durron thinks it...'

When your 'word is law' why should I quest it? I make issues because I don't understand why you do what you do. God forbid I ask a question. It isn't my fault you get all super defensive about things. Look at what I originally said and honestly tell me I was looking for crap from you. Just being the Commissioner doesn't give you any more power, you just get pushy or more so than you usually are. *see above posts* And I'll do whatever I please, such as taking FOREVER to pick if I want, and taking issue with everything' you say if that's the only way you see me asking questions.

Right, they never have been taken as 99s. It has never been said what level they are. Doesn't power change with level? So what level are the FFers taken at then?Is there a standard? Sorry for asking more questions, err I mean taking an issue with everything you say. *sigh* Does that mean with prep the FFers are as powerful as 24 hours of extended game play? I don't really see how that works? RP characters are so vague. Why can't we have GW characters, or WoW then?

And again, I'll take my time as I please to make my pick but thanks for telling me what to do bro. ;)

FFers aren't taken at levels, they're taken at game cannon. Cutscenes and things like that. You can't say "My cloud is level 99", because what level is Solid Snake? You can't possibly answer that. So you look at their opposition, and you see what they can do(Think of Kuja flattening the world, etc) in cutscenes, and in storylines.

But last I checked MG anything wasn't an RPG though, or is it technically?

I just figured that the games in the draft had an easier way of determining power levels, something uniform maybe? Some FF games don't have cut scenes for instance. Some are even 2D, uber pixilated scroll alongs, correct?

What EF said exactly. And I seem to recall that being laid out, multiple times, way back in draft one.

And no, believe me, that's not why we have issues. But I'm not getting into that little conversation.

No, it's not. That's the point. What does Snake care if Cloud is a level 99? That's a game mechanic. So you beat Sephiroth faster if all of your guys are level 99, so what? That doesn't change the story at all. If you were level 50 and you scraped out a win it would still have the same ending.

I'm still confused as to how highly thought of the Xenosaga characters are. And I'm not trying to slight them or pretend that I know that they aren't that powerful, but I don't recall a formal explanation. I'm talking about skill, speed, and strength here. The only thing I know about them is that they can tear apart mechs with their bare hands. And that Grahf has some other handy skills that come into play. Oh, and that they can kick the living **** out of ostridges.

And I know I had Grahf last time. That selection was made purely on reputation.

Just thought that was fairly relevant to the conversation, and wanted to throw it out there.

Oh, and I'm also still waiting on that formal explanation as to why Shadow isn't as good as I think he is. ;)

Ugh. I can't think of a way of explaining in a small paragraph or less, and I have so many better things to do tonight than type out essays. :( Can't you just go back to the first draft and read that uber-long article I posted on the subject of Grahf? Pretty please?

I think Dante is better because he uses more conditioner in his hair. How does he get it so silky smooth? That's what I'd like to know.

BTW, Xenosaga and Xenogears have no real relation to each other other than the name. Grahf/Fei etc have nothing to do with KOS-MOS/chaos etc. It's like Final Fantasy games.

Ok well I really wanted to go good this draft since it would be a first for me but the allure of the dark side is still too strong. It's just too fun. So with that being said I make the first round, first overall pick of...

Yeah that's the general idea of you're first pick. :D

I did have a hard time picking him though. So many good picks I wanted to make a team out of. I'm just waiting to hear how it wasn't a surprise to go with him, and it is an old pick. Doesn't matter, nothing out there's taking him down. Great individual, great leader. Doesn't get much better than that.

You picked a good one, he would have been mine (and probably everyone's) pick as well, since it's fairly easy to argue that nobody can stand against him. From the looks of it everyone worth taking is going to be gone by the time my turn comes around. Anyways, good choice!
