Is the question about a weird call, or a personal favorite one? There is a difference. The Boone homer is up there, but a personal favorite that to date has yet to equaled is John Sterling's call of Bernie William's game-winning homer in Game 1 of the 1996 ALC (the Jeffrey Maier game).

The Minnesota Miracle is certainly one of the more recent memorable play by play calls.

 

My favorite story from that run was that Case Keenums neighbors saw him shoveling his driveway at the start of winter, and they never let him shovel again. One of those crazy things that can only happen with an immensely likable career backup playing out of his mind for one season.
