Speaking of clothes..... why the hell did Lucas decide that all Jedi should dress like Obi-Wan in ANH? Now he just looks like an idiot..... the jedi who is supposed to be hiding walks around dressed in .... uh.....jedi robes.

Obi-Wan looks like an idiot? It's the other way round. Lucas went on to make three movies with people dressed like idiots.

GL: "Good idea #1. I'll make three action movies with people in long unwieldy robes. They'll be dressed like Bedouin desert nomads, even though they live on a city planet. Why? Well, because I can do what I want".

 

Ha - fair, that does make a lot more sense

Heh, how the hell did I forget that when I've seen those movies like 1,273 times. Sigh.

or Han Solo's jacket.
Frankly it's a miracle Darth Maul wasn't in a Vader suit.

 

During a scene in which Owen suggests her to run and she says they're not going anywhere.

By whe way, about that, her stubborness almost cost Luke's life. And then, years later, things ended as we know.... maybe not the best call by her and Owen.

 

I loved those goofy 19th century blaster rifles, honestly. By contrast,

I still cannot believe somebody got obsessed with some set dressing horse**** I literally never noticed and decided they were the totemic representation of the soul of Han Solo himself for two straight movies. That's Harry Potter levels of incidental trinket worship. It makes basing an entire six book series around the idea that Darth Vader's super cool glove makes you a legitimate ruler look... ... well, no, that's about as dumb, actually.

 

That's the way the dice fall sometimes.

 

And the close-up on Han's blaster when he gets it, and the hype for Luke's saber in TFA, and the literal worship of Vader's helmet, and the gushing for the wizard ship.... They're really getting creepy.

Why is it LFL hires people who write something that works well & then reject it in favour of getting others in who write something worse?
This storyline makes way more sense than what we saw in the show

 

You can write whatever you want, as long as you hire crap actors and dress them up in cosplayer costumes it won't make much of a difference.

 

I actually disagree with that.
I'd argue that if the story and the script are powerful, we'd be able to ignore the silliness of costume and suboptimal acting and enjoy the story anyway.
On the other hand, when there is no story, meh, we can clap at the spectacular visuals, but we'll forget everything in a matter of weeks.
