There's more than corn in Indiana...

While attending C3, if anyone wants to venture out from Indy, there are other places and things to see. I live in Bloomington, which is about 45min. south of Indy and there are a few things to do around where I live and neighboring areas.

-Lake Monroe (largest lake in the state, great fishing and camping...also looks onto John Mellencamp's house)

-Downtown Nashville (around 45min. away from Indy, small art community, lots of little shops and beautiful scenery), also the Little Nashville Opry...for fans of country music.

Anyone feel free to PM me about anything around the outskirts of Indy if you want get away from the big city while you're in the area, or just if you have any questions about Indiana.

That might also be the same weekend as Grand Prix up here at Purdue, so I'll be so torn between C3 and drunken debauchery

Any large rock formations to interest a geologist?

 

I don't think there are any large rock formations in the Indy area, no, but if you go south enough there are. Central and northern Indiana are a little on the flat side. Directly west isn't too bad, but we're a pretty flat state overall.

 

Speaking of trilobites.... you could visit the "Falls of the Ohio" right between Jeffersonville, IN, and Louisville KY on the northern side of the River. Lots of fossils and a very nice museuum. Then there's Wyandot Caves and Hoosier National Forest with rock climbing...Very pretty part of the state, lots to do on the way to and from Celeb III.

well, my one roommate is from West Terre Haute. apparently nearly everyone there either makes, buys, or uses crystal meth. it's only about an hour from Indy.
