Been catching up on some more early Showa era Gojira pictures. So good.

As someone who works in a movie theater this is both funny and sad. Thankfully we are sanitizing often, we still care about preventing Covid spread unlike Wal-Mart who has given up almost completely. The bad part is we are only allowed 10% capacity so thats like 15-20 people per theater.

Even Covid can't keep me from Godzilla on the big screen though! It would take a giant irradiated monster smashing Pittsburgh to stop me lol.

 

I’ll be watching Godzilla vs Kong on HBO Max.

 

That's cool, home seat with your own food and drinks. Also if anyone is conserned about Covid they should go with HBO as well. I have an awkward need to see Godzilla on a big screen if I can. My opinion of KOTM is more postitive from seeing it on a huge Imax screen. I feel if I saw it for the first time at home on a 55" tv with 2 channel speakers my opinion would've been lower. Not rational but true.

 

Thinking I might risk an early morning showing (less crowds), if it is available and seems safe.

I recall one viewing of Rogue One I attended where there was just the two of us in the entire theater at a 9:30 am showing way back then. I'll have to check listings for the new Gojira film.

 

Gonna watch the Netflix Godzilla Anime Trilogy tonight.

 

I tried watching Netflix's Godzilla anime, but it wasn't for me. I found it to have a very slow pace and seriously lacking Godzilla in the first few episodes of the first season. I stopped watching it.

 

It suffers from a plodding story, a Godzilla that does nothing more than walk in a straight line (and is a giant plant for some reason) and unlikable characters. Really hope the next anime is better.

 

I disagree, it explores the futility of existance, makes Godzilla terrifying (something missing in most films), and yes its slow paced, but Monsterverse balances this out with being quickly paced.

 

I think the anime has some good ideas like the surprise at end of first ep and the fight in the 3rd but not a fan of the animation style.

 

I am use to the style from Geneshaft myself; 3D animation mixed with 2D.

 

Aaaaannnndddd....Gojira for the win.

For a monster underwater duel, nothing tops zombie vs. shark.

Back on topic, Mothra shirt landed in my home today. I approve.

My wife assumed she would hate Godzilla because she's not big on action movies to begin with. Just before KOTM came out AMC showed original Japanese versions of Ghidorah followed by Invasion of Astro-monster and she really liked them both. She likes the goofiness of the Showa series, I like the seriousness of the Heisei series.

 

I love the goofiness of the Showa Era and the seriousness of Heisei Era. If I am honest my least favorite era is The Millenium Era.

 

Same. The only movie I really didn't like was GMK and that was mostly the Godzilla design and Ghidorah being a good guy. I did like how his atomic breath made a halo around his head and a mushroom-cloud shape explosion though.

 

Not really a "trailer 3". Looks more like a couple of tv/social media spots thrown together.

Has anyone discovered why Godzilla is thinking? I know psychics have read his mind before, does anyone recollect what Gojira is thinking?
