Books Thrawn: Treason by Timothy Zahn Summer 2019

Just call this one The Thrawn Trilogy. That was never the official name of the old one.

Fight me.

 

It was never envisioned as a trilogy or series or anything. They are just Thrawn books. Feel free to classify them however you'd like.

 

I’ll classify it as the Thrawn Chronicles because it encourages Del Rey to commission more Thrawn books from T.Z.

And you aren’t going to be upstaged by Narnia having 7 are you? No, better make it an 8 part Chronicles.

 

If there's two more books in the works, then it's the Thrawn Pentalogy. Or, like the Hitchhiker's Guide, "a trilogy in five parts."

 

This is probably going to be wishful thinking on my part, but if Thrawn is debating treason, and the Emperor suspects...well, he probably would have to send someone to investigate, and who better to send to uncover this potential treason then one of his Hands? I mean, Zahn did say a while back that he'd be willing to try to recanonize Mara Jade in one of his future books if he could fit her and Disney allowed it. The wishful part of me thinks that this seems like it would be a perfect opportunity to do reintroduce her, though then again, I said the same thing about Rebels.

Either way, can't wait to see another Thrawn novel!

I love "chronicles". Even if it is just 3 books, trilogy does not work super well cause these are pretty dependent stories. Sure they have a through line, but they are one long character arc, not a three act story. Particularly with Rebels being 2 major acts of this story. So Thrawn: Chronicles or Thrawn: TAT (Thrawn Alliances Treason)

 

I just realized! We get another audiobook with Marc Thompson's smooth Mikkelsen Thrawn voice.

 

"The Rise Of Thrawn" Trilogy/Series

And if we ever get any novels set post Rebels S4 "The Return of Thrawn" Series

 

Can we get a KOTOR game next?

 

In the post-S4 series Ezra should have a vision of the future.

2 books back to back is fine with me. I just don’t know how you can have a 7 month gap. Yes, projects are ready when they are ready and sometimes theirs a glut and a sparcity. It just sucks. Hire more authors.

Nah because it won't stay at just 3 books hopefully! We can eventually call it the Thrawn Dodecathology

 

Crossing my fingers for an epilogue chapter with Thrawn and Ezra post-Rebels. Just a little teaser for how things continued from there. Also, since Rebels is over, I hope the book has closer ties to events in the show in general, as it seems to be taking place in-between S4 E10 and E16
