A/N: I didn't think I'd actually end up with one of these for Attack of the Clones, but couldn't resist the plot bunny when come calling it did. So... This Changes Everything - Attack of the Clones Edition.

    This changes everything
    precautions taken
    a ship landing
    destruction
    life lost
    regret

    This changes everything
    friends meet again
    so much
    has changed

    This changes everything
    politics
    suspicion
    a dark under current
    to it all

    This changes everything
    attempted assasination
    failure
    capture
    betrayal

    This changes everything
    morning chores
    interrupted
    a cry sounded

    This changes everything
    suspicion
    a missing planet
    mystery

    This changes everything
    here and now
    a man and a woman
    together
    in hiding
    building
    a relationship
    there is no going back

    This changes everything
    a mission
    to uncover
    truth
    behind the lies

    This changes everything
    a cry heard
    but unheeded
    for far too long

    This changes everything
    missing planet found
    discoveries
    battle
    in the rain

    This changes everything
    here and now
    a cry answered
    a wish fulfilled
a slide towards the dark side
    is begun
    there is no going back

    This changes everything
    captured
    and rescued
    and captured again

    This changes everything
    an admission
    in the face
    of seemingly-certain death
    a first kiss

    This changes everything
    backup arriving
    with cloned troopers
    and turning the tide

    This changes everything
    here and now
    a holy man
    a man
    a woman
    and two droid witnesses
    there is no going back

    On the forest floor
    a man
    walks
    and waits
    to be noticed

he didn't have to do this
    to walk
    straight
    into enemy hands

    foolhardy
    reckless
    stupid

    it is a long walk
    from village
    high
    in
    the trees

    alone
    with his thoughts
    circling
    it is hard
    to
    remain
    calm

    he did not
    have to do this
    to walk
    alone
    into enemy hands
    he knows this

    toward certain danger
    toward a goal
    toward...
    everything he ran from
    that day
    on
    Bespin

    hands clench
    at the sudden reminder
    and all at once
    he just wants to return
    to the village
    and not do this

    wants to
    but can't
    there's a spark
    of something
    he saw it
    felt it
    even if
    at the time
    he didn't know
    what it was

    On the forest floor
    the wait
    to be noticed
    is over

    Doubts
    are left
    on the forest floor

    On the catwalk
    of the moon-sized weapon
    like another
    a father and son
    stand
    face to face

    In the moment
    standing
    together
    one
    more
    time

    On the catwalk
    here
    in the moment
    choices
    will be made
    are being made

    A lightsaber's hilt
    between
    them
    dark
    light

    On the catwalk
    a father
    a son
    three watchers
    for an endless moment

    On the catwalk
    with a red flash
    for better
    for worse
    there is no going back

    Daena: You're back. :D

I stumbled across this over lunch - most impressive, from what little I've read. The "red flash," especially, takes on an ominous tone, given a little film I've watched earlier this week ... [face_worried]

    On the catwalk
    inside a battle station
    in the Alderaan system
    a Jedi Master
    is sneaking around

    On the catwalk
    making adjustments
    to
    the
    tractor beam

    On the catwalk
    avoiding the abyss
    and
    avoiding detection

    On the catwalk
    knowing
    he will not
    go un-noticed
    for long

    On the catwalk
    and buying time
    time
    to face
    the darkness
    and hold back
    the tide

    On the catwalk
    making adjustments
    to the tractor beam
    a Jedi Master
    knows
    time
    is running out

    Great poetry, Daena!

This was really powerful! I could see the moment in my mind and this poem really adds to it!

    elevated walkway
    a son
    lowers
    his defenses
    minutely

    In the throne room
    a war
    against the dark
    is waged
    within
    and without

    In the throne room
    defense
    but not
    attack

    In the throne room
    the burning candle
    glows
    ever bright
    heralding
    a return

    In the throne room
    a choice
    dark
    light
    there is no
    in between

    In the throne room
    on the Second Death Star
    a son
    a father
    a choice
    dark or light

    In the throne room
    defiant
    lightsaber tossed
    lightning
    pain

    In the throne room

    redemption
    return
    to light

    In the throne room
    on the edge
    of the abyss

These are really amazing! I love how each one follows the pattern of the others somewhat, so that there's a kind of cyclical effect. And each poem captures a little balance point of some sort -- they're the drawing of breaths before the sprint, the in-between places even when surrounded by/interwoven with some very big events. =D=
