and I'm sure no one wants to pay to hire a venue, so let's use a pre-arranged meeting.

    Melbourne Skyforce

    Where:
    Whitley College
'The Mervyn Himbury Theological Studies Centre'
    50 The Avenue, Parkville
    (just north of Leonard Street)
    (Mel Ref: Map 43 F1)

    Transport:
Trams stop outside Whitley College at STOP 15 on Route 19 to North Coburg from Flinders Street Station.

    Meeting Dates - 12th December

    Time:
    1pm - 5pm

    Entry Cost:
    $5 SWI Members
    $7 Non Members
    Free for children under 12.

We'll meet in the gardens outside Skyforce at 12.noon for a chat and a "Get to know you" session, then for those that want to continue the day,
we'll head inside to the Skyforce meeting at 1pm and heckle Dags as he does the auction. :)

Oi, what's the deal with this! You're a CR for like five minutes and you're organising meets already!!! Whoa that's just too fast. Dude ya gotta realise that somethings just can't be rushed :)

    BUT...

If you're organising a meet ... well dagnabbit I'll cancel all my other non existing engagements to be there! So do we still need the regulatory minimum number of 3 attendees to make it "official"? If so, who will be the surprise third VicFF person??? [face_thinking]

So when I get up to do the announcements I'll make a point of saying "I'm only here for VicFF's meet" :D

HANG ON I just realised something!

LordVaderFF, let me get this straight, you actually WANT to hold a VicFF meet ***AT*** an actual Star Wars club meeting!

Are you mad! It's insane! No one will agree to it! It's blasphemous! Perish the thought!

Don't you remember the flak we copped all those weeks/months/years ago when people here actually thought ... nay believed ... that since this IS a Star Wars forum holding meets at a Star Wars club was just beyond the realms of acceptance.

Dude do ya know what you're doing??? It could lead the forum to RUINS! :_|

Well dude if ya gonna bring it down, I'll bring it down with ya! :)

It just goes against everything these forums have stood for.......how dare I. :)

I think we'll have to enlist some new members to the forums to get the numbers up........DAVE!

    Absa-fraggin'-lootely we were all there.

Sure it might've only been two of us, so we just didn't quite make that minimum three person quota, but LordVaderFF's right, all active posters WERE present. [face_dancing]

Ha, let's see some of the other forums achieve that! :D

Nah, more in a nerdy sort of way.

"Yo dude how's your sabre going? Still long, bright and erect?" and stuff like that. [face_laugh]

    Or maybe not :)

Anyway the good news is that there was two of us there, so maybe next time there will be a couple more.

Our goal must be to reach 1,000 Vic threads before the end of time as we've been stuck in the 900s now for YONKS!

End of time? I guess you have the time, but I suspect you are going to have to pass this particular flame onto your great great great Grand Children!!!

Well Mixo just posted a new thread so there's still hope.

I guess when we get into the 990's we'll all be saying "I think I can, I think I can". :)

Ironically by the time we get to that point the board will either be brimming full of new dudes who won't remember the quiet times (ie, now), or it'll still be LordVaderFF and myself keeping the good fight going.

It'll be our own version of 300. Whereas the other forums have hundreds of members posting stuff, VicFF will only have 2, but it'll be 2 who won't give up!

Few forums have 100's of posters or posts these days, the heady days of Star Wars Mania are long over it seems. We are now waiting for the Clone Wars Generation to come of age! My 10 year old son is crazy about Clone Wares, so give him three years and he will join a FF ;) :p

Ahhh yes the good ol' days, I remember them well. :)

Personally I don't think it'll be the Clone Wars generation that will reignite the passion as it's only registering with a miniority of fans, but the LAS is another story altogether. If anything is going to ramp up the fans it'll be that. Still, even if LAS does kick start the beast there's no guarantee the forums will repeat their craziness of a decade ago - which is a very tall order when you think about it.

In the end I like to look at it by saying "Star Wars had its peak time ... and I was right there in the middle of it!"

Yeah, I was there too sighs

My son has the collecting bug though, he has a Clone Wars towel, quilt, figures, lego, t shirts, shorts, trackstuit, hats, games, placemat, posters, jigsaws, book covers for school and he asked for a Clone Wars fleecy blanket tonight...

Good stuff, start 'em when they're young.

Now he'll want a few TCW items but wait until he starts moving into the area of action figures and vehicles, now THAT will be a can of worms you'll need to deal with! :)
