She had a bad reaction to the second antiviral, so she's only taking antinausea meds now, and tramadol for pain. Hopefully tramadol works better for her than it did for me.

Eek. Bad reaction to medications is not a happy thing. Are they going to try another from a different category, or are they waiting to see if it goes away on its own?

They're hoping that she kept enough down to nip it in the bud, but she's supposed to call if the rash thing gets worse.

My thoughts are with my grandmother who has been very sick for a while but is now having labored breathing. We have been told to prepare for goodbye. She is my "abuelita," which means grandmother in Spanish.

So now, my dad is in the hospital with a blood clot in his leg. Apparently it runs almost the entire length of his leg. He broke the ankle on this leg in a motorcycle accident May 4, 2006, so I wonder if it's related. I swear, I am going to spontaneously combust or explode.

UHG, if you need someone to vent to I can meet up for coffee or stop by if you need me. Hope everything goes smoothly, blood clots not good and don't forget to take care of yourself too.

Thanks. Sleep was a thing that did not really happen last night.... I'm just kind of a zombie on the edge right now; don't know what I need.

I'm sorry. [:D] Are they giving him blood thinners, is it something they can remove?

He's on two thinners right now. One injected, one pill. I don't think they can remove it, but no one has mentioned it that I know of.

Are they waiting to see what happens with the blood thinners, then? Or on something else?

I guess the blood thinners is the plan. My mother wasn't able to talk to the doctor today (and my dad is stereotypically male and doesn't ask questions), so I'm somewhat under-informed, which is a bit maddening.

That sounds frustrating to say the least. The situation is difficult enough as it is, without being under-informed of what is going on. I hope that things improve better today, and that you get more info! And more rest! [:D]

If he's on that dose of thinners they most likely want him to stay in bed so he doesn't dislodge it. Can't those go to your lungs, heart and/or brain? So sorry Q, let us know how it's going. Good vibes coming in all directions from Sith Central.

Still zombified, still under-informed, but they've sent him home today, which I am not at all comfortable with. He didn't do what he was supposed to as it was, and now there's more to do that he probably won't.

Thanks for the good thoughts. @};-
