Time to Vote: Where do you rank The Mandalorian in the Star Wars saga?

I liked Mando first season, but this second one really hit it out of the park. It was everything I really wanted for Mando, with awesome recurring characters that we knew from previous stories.

After the first season, I would put Mando above the prequels, Rebels, Clone Wars and Rogue One, but right now, wow, kind of difficult to tell. The pantheon of untouchables is still TESB and ANH, but after that... Mando MIGHT be up there.

I'm going to limit it to live action because as good as animation like TCW is it's additional to live action.

The Skywalker Saga (Episodes 7-9) which is below everything and anything that Disney will ever produce again. This travesty will always be several million below last.

I'd need 6 votes for Episodes I-VI then.

It's those 6 then everything else. They are in tier unto themselves. Everything else emanates from them.

Anyway I've giving my ranking so there it is.

 

Among everything... my top Star Wars movie changes depending on the day and my mood.

Today my top Star Wars movie is The Last Jedi.

So ranking five out of the list...

1. The Last Jedi
2. The Revenge of the Sith
3. A New Hope
4. Rogue One
5. Attack of the Clones

And The Mandalorian is at the bottom of the list one place above Return of the Jedi. The Return of the Jedi was my least favorite Star Wars movie when I walked out of the theatre in '83, and it still hasn't changed.

The Luke scene is tops for The Mandalorian, but that scene alone doesn't elevate the series as a whole for me. The series is what it is, I enjoyed the first season, and the second season up until the Ashoka episode, and then after that it just went downhill quick, fast, and in a hurry to me.

"The Rescue" was figurative and literal for me. Luke saved it.

On the top two are firm, though - below that, there's always some Brownian motion depending on my mood. But the three I listed are pretty solid.

hype would place Mando at 2, but really, ya gotta remember how much your favorites influenced ya. It’s easily in the top five for Star Wars content to me. R1, and the rest of the PT and OT follow, with Solo at the bottom of my list, but certainly still liked.

I don’t care for the ST. No idea why I’d want to watch the OT, but with bad characters and even worse consistency.

 

I rank it in the top-tier, along with the OT, Rogue One, and ROTS. I grew up watching the OT so that naturally influences my ranking. It's basically (in tiers, not necessarily order):

Most great series are fantastic in their 2nd season but drop off in their 3rd season. It's going to be interesting how Favreau keeps going with it, how can he top the Boba and Luke episodes? Han...Leia...Lando...Palpatine...Thrawn?????

 

It's the second best TV show(behind the Clone Wars) and the best thing Disney has put out since they bought the franchise.(I do not count Clone Wars as under Disney even if they did do the last season the first 6 where pre Disney and it was only brought back because of negative reaction to the Sequel films)
