Title Feature?

I was just noticing that the boards have a custom user title feature.

When was this added to the board code?

Also, are these going to be used? I would think that it would be impossible to give out titles to everyone.

Or, is this just an old unused feature?

Wow, so we have titles? Who screwed with the coding?

How are we going to be able to use it? Standard titles that we can choose from, or only special people get it?

This is a new feature zerosleep just added to Snowboard. Only managers and administrators can assign titles. As for whether regular users can get them or not... we haven't decided that yet.

Okay, i don't mean to sound condescending toward the man, i repect him, but seriously. Of all the things he could have added (better clock, sticky topics, move topics, etc etc) he adds a title feature!

Sheesh! And i thought he didn't have access to the source code he doesn't work there anymore. I think someone or someones haven't been telling the whole story, because i know we were told we had no access to the source code.

Having colors is one thing... but this!!! This should be a feature allowed for all...

 

This has to be one of the funniest, if not stupidest, things I've ever seen come across the JC in my memory.

 

When they say they dont know if they'll let normal have them, they mean "We would, but 7,500 titles filled out will require many new Keyboards"

Son of the Suns says that only Mods can assign titles... does this mean that you can give us common folk titles?

Sometimes I have to wonder about you guys. It's like you do things to purposely make the members mad. Stupidity. Everyone and their mother is going to want a custom title! You're better off disabling it altogether (as if special icons and colors weren't enough already).

But hell, what do I know? Regardless, this issue gets a big fat

So, if the administration is "not sure" if regular users can have titles, can someone give me a decent explanation as to why mj has one? Anyone?

 

This doesn't strike me as a good thing.

Either all have it, or moderators/admins should have it in an official capacity only (noting their focus or forum, perhaps). Otherwise, it comes across as elitist in a bad way.
