Title Feature?

Well, something has to give...either all regular users can get them or not...no exceptions.

I guess for mods etc, its along the lines of the special icons and colours. It probably isnt necessary, but it isnt anything to worry/get offended about.

 

I'm afraid I have to agree, this is going to do nothing but cause trouble between normal users and mods. Perhaps if the titles included something informational like "Lit Mod," "Administrator," or something like that instead of just silly little quips I could see the reasoning behind it, but as it is now I say titles for all (and if mods have to do this individually per users that would basically be impossible) or titles for none.

I don't believe it. Why titles, out of ALL the possible features that could have been added? Disable it, or allow EVERYONE to have them.

 

So admin get to set the titles on users? And what about us users who don't know any admin? Are we out of luck?

 

If it's any consolation, lowly Mods like myself don't get titles

I gave her that title because I wanted people to know when they saw her post that she is very special to me. Since making her a VIP is out of the question, I gave her a title.

I noone has yet shown my why this will offend the rest of the users....what is the difference between this and the colours? Or between this and the admin icons?

I do see what Mr Neck said....it can be used for information, or for smart-alec jokes....it prob should be used for information...the jokes can go in your sig.

Can anyone answer my question? Is zerosleep back for good? Is this the only change? Why did he do this at all?

 

Oh, I get it then. Admin and those "special" to them get titles, and everyone else is just SOL?

Perhaps it should be noted that unlike other inactive moderators/admins, zerosleep was never removed from his position and changed to a VIP.

 

Can we have some answers, please:

Why titles, out of ALL the possible, AND MORE USEFUL features that could have been added?

 

I meant his status as for writing more code for IGN, not his administrative powers.

Basically, will we get more USEFUL updates, or no?

Sorry I haven't been following this title drama, I've been busy closing the 50,000 redundant threads in the movie forums.

But please continue.

 

I don't want to take things too far with the elitism charge, or make too big an issue out of it. A simple explanation from Vertical or NathanDahlin would be most helpful.

 

Let's not try to accuse anyone of elitism. I think we need to be diplomatic here, and not whine, but rather wait for a higher Administrator to explain the issue. No one needs to get agressive here. And even so, they are just titles. If it's so serious that you don't have one, put something in your signature that says Title: I want a title.
