    Check TOS

    :D

The chase cards for the series consists of autograph cards, signed by talent featured in Episode II. "We're still negotiating, but to date we've got about 22 confirmations and we're hoping to bring in a few more," said Saunders. Among those on the committed-to-sign list are Frank Oz (Yoda), Christopher Lee (Count Dooku), Daniel Logan (Boba Fett) and Leeanna Walsman (Zam Wesell).

    That Yoda card looks tasty.

Though I will more than likely buy the packs for the autographed cards. :)

Evolution Set had 25 autographers, plus it had a 93 card base set and 20 chase cards. Hopefully Topps will beef this up a bit. With only 80 cards and autographs, you're barely going to be able to fill one auto per box, and a deluge of extra common sets if you buy the boxes trying to get autographs. That is, unless they get more autographers and get them to do a 1000 each...that's the only way they'll consistently get 2 autos per box. Pre-sale evolution boxes were also around $60.

    Autograph speculation:

    Announced at the OS:
    • Frank Oz (Yoda)

    • Christopher Lee (Count Dooku)

    • Daniel Logan (Boba Fett)

    • Leeanna Walsman (Zam Wesell)

    • Kenny Baker (R2-D2)
Ep2 people that signed autographs at Celebration 2 and would be likely candidates:
    • Amy Allen (Aayla Secura)

    • Mary Oyaya (Luminara Unduli)

    • Nalini Krishan (Barriss Offee)

    • Silas Carson (Nute Gunray, Ki-Adi-Mundi) (was supposed to be there but last minute schedule conflict)

    • Jerome Blake (Rune Haako, Mas Amedda, and then some)

    • Bonnie Piesse (Beru Whitesun)
Ep2 people that appeared at C2 (thus not a complete recluse from SW fandom) possiblities:
    • Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker)

    • Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett)

    • Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars)

    • Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) Highly unlikely.
People that signed in the Evolution set, so might repeat:
    • Andy Secombe (Watto)

    • Ian McDiarmid (Chancellor Palpatine)
I weeded out people mentioned above and the most minor of characters from the OS Cast listing of Ep2, and here's what's left:

    Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi)
    Natalie Portman (Padmé)
    Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu)
    Pernilla August (Shmi Skywalker)
    Jimmy Smits (Senator Bail Organa)
    Jack Thompson (Cliegg Lars)
    Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks)
    Rose Byrne (Dormé)
    Oliver Ford Davies (Sio Bibble)
    Ronald Falk (Dexter Jettster)
    Jay Laga'aia (Captain Typho)
    Ayesha Dharker (Queen Jamillia)
Anthony Phelan (Voice Of Lama Su)
Rena Owen (Voice Of Taun We)
    Alethea McGrath (Madame Jocasta Nu)
    Matt Doran (Elan Sleazebaggano)
    Matt Sloan (Plo Koon)
    Veronica Segura (Cordé)
    David Bowers (Mas Amedda)
    Bodie 'Tihoi' Taylor (Clone Trooper)
Matt Rowan (Senator Orn Free Taa)
    Zachariah Jensen (Kit Fisto)

I'm pretty sure that I have the entire set of the "classic trilogy" wide cards.

as well as a good number of the Episode I wide cards.

I'll probably pick these up as well.

EDIT: How about those ones that came out that were 3D...Now those were awesome! I have a few of those I'll try to get some pictures scanned.

I talked to a Topps card guy at C2, adn he told me about the upcoming Widevision set. I have all 4 current sets and will be VERY anxious to add this one. Honestly, I feel like the pictures in the TPM set could have been much better chosen, so I'm hoping AOTC will be better.

    Must...have....autographed....cards....

    :)

I can't wait for this set! While I love the AotC set we have now, I wanted it to be widevision. The only thing that I am not thrilled about is the inclusion of autographs. [face_plain] I have the worst luck with them.

It appears there will be one autograph per box according to Topps.

Actually it says "a rate of approximately one per box" which could very well mean that some boxes will contain no autograph cards. There will be no guarantee that there will be one in every box.

Topps said for Evolution that the rate was 1 to 2 autos per box, but the three boxes I opened only had one per. I know a guy who opened a box and got 3, and another who got none in the box he opened.

I opened lots of boxes of Evolution cards (12-14 I think ?[face_plain] ) and got one per box on all but 1 occasion, where I got none ( ). So, yeah, it's no guarantee, but it's a pretty safe bet that you'll get at least one in a box.

I guess it's still interesting that there's still no talk of any other chase card sets, which means lots and lots of extra common sets....so a smart buyer who only wants the widevision set should be able to pick up a complete one for $3-5 easily.

Promo info...I know it was mentioned in the OS press release, but I thought I'd reiterate it....to this point, there is only one promo card for the set, and it will be availabe in the next issue (Sept/Oct) of Non-Sport Update and the Sept. Issue of Diamond Previews (available at most comic stores). Do not pay more than $1-2 for this (with shipping). You'd do better to buy the NSU magazine (about $3 or so) get the SW WV Promo amongst other promos and probably the best card price guide available, rather than bidding up some ebay auction to have the card before your friend down the street. [end broken record] ;)

The AOTC Series 2 Widevision Cards are starting to hit ebay (see pic below)...this is the only promo for the set and while it's currently only available in the next NSU magazine and next/current Diamond Previews Catalog, this card will be everywhere. If you pay more than $1-2 for it you're wasting your money.

Needless to say, this set will kick much arse.

Just found out that there's a European promo card for this set. It's pretty much the same card except that the distribution text on the back is different and the card itself is numbered S1. Also found out that the U.S. promo is numbered P1 which I hadn't heard before, but kinda figured. So, two versions of the same promo.
