Toronto Toronto Comic Arts Festival - March 29

Before the EpI lineups came along, I was part of the Toronto comics scene. Time for me to return to my roots. Anyone who's interested in small press/indy comics and would like to see Tragic in his natural environment, feel free to join him at the festival. I'll be the one with drink in hand, arguing the merits of the infinite canvas over natural media.

 

Wow. The opportunity to observe the rare and elusive TragicLad in his natural environment. From an anthropological perspective this is an opportunity not to be missed. I suspect volumes can and will be written about opportunity of a lifetime.


In addition, I'll see if I can make it.

 

Definitely a Hinterland Who's Who I wouldn't miss!!

 

Interests me somewhat to see mr. Tragic in his natural habitat.. will see if I can make it, hope I can.

Little thing called my half sis coming up from Vancouver may set me off.

 

Sounds interesting but there's no way I could make it... I won't be back in TO until the weekend after that one.

 

Meh.. there's always other meetings and such.
Myself, looking forward to Toronto Trek.. will be fun.. yet now I'm getting off topic.

Well, from those of you who went, how was it?

 

Yes! I would very much like to hear about the wily Tragic Lad in his natural habitat!

 

From a small press perspective, it was spectacular. The exhibit hall was packed every moment of the day. Good to see that the indy comics scene is alive and well in Toronto. The panels were standing room only. I think we can definitely anticipate a TCAF in 2004.

We had thai food, went out for coffee and cheesecake with Carla "Speed" McNeil and I drew some sketches of Bunny & the Cantelope. Picked up a copy of Jar of Fools and some of Greg Cook's work. I'm lucky I didn't have much cash on me, though. Seth was selling original pencils for $50 each.

YAY Bunny and the Cantelope!!!!! I can't wait to see more.
