This round is tough. I absolutely love Inara. Against better judgement I actually voted for her too. And Harlan Ogilvy - bad movie, but very well done character.

 

Palpy may be eeeevil, but Inara is hot. And I'm really pulling for the Serenity/Firelfy characters in this tourney, so I have her the vote.

 

Thank the Gods I'm not alone when it comes to voting for Inara.

 

Wow...an entire bracket where I don't care about any of the selections at all. I don't think I'll vote this time around. Just no interest for any of them.

Um, Qui-Gon?

Inara: "I'm sure I've heard that said. But perhaps the dining area isn't the place for this sort of thing?"

Mal: "What do you mean? Only place with a table big enough."

Inara: "Of course. In that case..." (rearranges guns) "Every well-bred petty crook knows -- the small concealable weapons always go to the far left of the place setting."

 

There are only three characters in Star Wars that I can say for certain I would pick over Inara.

Unfortunately Palpatine is one of them.

I'm glad to see that Inara won. Now for the Operative:

The Operative: You know, in certain older civilized cultures, when men failed as entirely as you have, they would throw themselves on their swords.
Dr. Mathias: Well, unfortunately, I forgot to bring a sword.
Dr. Mathias: [as the Operative pulls out his sword] I would put that down right now if I were you.
The Operative: Would you be killed in your sleep, like an ailing pet?



And:

Mr. Universe (via his buffybot): "Mal. Guy killed me, Mal. He killed me with a sword. How weird is that?"

 

Who could have predicted that Palps would be eliminated in the first round though? That's a wow. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't have - just making an observation.




I'm really disappointed that Clark's come up against The Operative. I'd be voting for him if he hadn't landed on a man that...

Due to me being away this weekend for my school's men's basketball conference tournament and a lack of time of access to the interenet the next bracket might not be posted until Sunday evening.

 

Roy Batty got paired against Data in the first round. What are the odds of that?

 

If it had been anyone else but Data I would have gone with my boy Roy (I nominated him, but was forced to vote against him. Such is the cruelty of life)

 

I know, same here. Data is one of my favorite sci-fi characters, and Blade Runner is one of my favorite sci-fi movies.
