YOU GUYS KNOCKED OUT ROAD WARRIOR???????????
MAY THE GREAT HUMONGOUS FEED YOU ALL TO HIS DOGS OF WAR!

Sure Serenity is fun and all that, but Road Warrior obviously had the greater cultural impact.

But thank you for knocking out Independance Day. That Insomnia cure had no reason being nominated in the first place.

Now for Gods sake, GIVE DRAGONSLAYER A CHANCE! If you havent seen it I would be happy to post a synopsis. Check out its reviews on Netflix if you must.

I would have thought the Roadwarrior would have made it past the last round also.

I was really hoping 12 Monkeys would make it further. But I knew it was in trouble the second I saw that it was up against Stargate. :(

It was closer then you think. The last vote was the tiebreaker.

I will find the person who cast that tie breaking vote and murder them, I swear it.

Seriously now, Terry Gilliam, Bruce Willis, Madeline Stowe and Brad Pitt, David Morse in the best damn time travel film ever lost out to the freaking creepy kid with the headdress? Now, really.

12 Monkeys was my sentimental favorite and it's gone. Gone! The bad guy from Stargate was Jaye Davidson, for pete's sake.

I think it'd be a lot better to see the actual votes, like putting the number of votes each movie got next to the movie's name. It'd be a lot better than just seeing movies crossed out.

Not a bad idea. It would give us a chance to see how badly a particular movie goes down.

I'm just trying to keep out the voting numbers because of the bias it might create. I have saved all the numbers so at the end of the tournament you can see how each round actually went. But for now, they're anonymous for a reason. I want you to vote for a film because you like it better then the other and not because you see that everyone else is voting for it. It just keeps the voting honest.

You know what? I agree with that. There's a mob mentality that tends to occur with these things and IMO even including results after a round could affect future votes. As much as I'd love to actually see how films like Road Warrior and 12 monkeys could've lost so early, it's a a small price to ensure untainted voting

I initially wanted to see the numbers as well, but after a little thought, I agree with the moderator's conclusion.

    I can wait. :)

I like this idea. Have you suggested it to TheBoogieMan for the tournaments he runs in Census? I think it'd be good to implement that plan for all tournaments held in the Forums here.

Really had to think about some of them, especially Pretator/Invisible Man and the Abyss/Minority Report.

How many Batman movies does one contest need? Done go making me think that Dragonslayer only lost because none of you ever watched it. It was a far more thought-out movie than Batman, without a pre-established fanbase to pump it up to inflated success that it might not have otherwise deserved on its own. Dont fall for name recognition prejudice boys. Dragonslayer got screwed.

(and who was the poster child for Bright and Shiny Objects who nominated Event Horizon? Geez people, exercise some standards)
