Was there not enough room for Dead Man? I was waiting to see what other people would nominate and just barely made it under the gun.

I can't believe no one nominated Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Oops! I thought I had Dead Man on the list. Would you like it or CE3K intead of ES or MD? You get the last nomination.

Really this is just impossible, so many good films to choose from. That's why I wanted to wait to see what others nominated. But no, I think Spielberg is already represented quite well (even though CE3K is still one of his best), so I'll stick with the ones I've got there.

EDIT: but if there isn't room for Dead Man, could you put it in instead of ES. Even though I'm sure ES would do better in the tournament I wanted to make sure Jarmusch was at least represented, and Burton already is.

Sorry, Jeff! They went fast. There are a lot of other notable films missing, but I think it should still be a good, fun tournament.

R4, nominations are closed (read the above posts).

    :)

I'll try to have the brackets up tonight.

The Bridge On The River Kwai - I've not see either film but DareDevil?????? COME ON!!!

Minority Report - Tough choice between these two. Spielberg against Spielberg. Overall I went with MR because it's just so much FUN to watch. Both are extremely well made films. I'm sure Jaws will win this one.

(Leon) The Professional - Hands down this is one of my all time favourite films ever. Natalie Portman is AMAZING in this film. Puts her SW performances to SHAME.

Monty Python & The Holy Grail - Absolutely classic comedy. One of the best out there. Certainly the best Monty Python flick. Any film with "There are some who call me... Tim" in it is a classic to me. :D
