Yikes, $15 a yard! Dharma has 45" black raw silk for $4.29/yd: http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/893700-AA.shtml?lnav=fabric_silk.html
And Thai Silks has lots of colors for $5.70/yd: http://www.thaisilks.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TS&Product_Code=0020#

Or do you need a more specific color?

DaG is just AMAZING book!!!! I got it couple of weeks ago and were just [face_hypnotized] when looked it through for the first time... I've NEVER seen such an exellent printwork in a book before!
    Two shames there are:
    1) I haven't got any money to get that limited edition... :_| You, who have it, enjoy!
    2) The glueings of the back of my book is opening already, though I have been very gentle. I open it now only to look for specific costumereferences. And some drawing refs too... :p

But still, the book is a dream.

I know this is a few months late, but I finally got my 'Dressing a Galaxy' book today, and OMG, I nearly cried, and I would have, if not for being in my town's local Cafe when I opened it, and also for the fact that I got a bleeding nose two pages in to it!
All I can say is that now it is DNA stated that is belongs to me. lol.

I noticed that Trisha Biggar is doing costumes for movie: Hallam Foe which is slotted to open 2007 http://www.getyourpeople.com/

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0081773/

I don't know if the costumes will be that interesting since apparently Hallam Foe, the central character, wears a kind of self-made hat fashioned from a badger, and there are early blog entries showing a roadkill badger that they would be using (Eeeehhhhh!)

I am looking to purchase the limited edition of this amazing book for Christmas, but after searching on Barnes and Noble I noticed a "Collector Edition" of DaG and it says it is not out at this time. Is this different from the Limited Edition? Or is this a B&N typo?
Here is the link and it is #4 on the DaG search list:

Hi Cressie - the #2 DAG listed at your link is the limited edition one. There is only one kind of limited edition really. Well, I take that back, as I recall the earlier numbers were signed by Trisha Biggar. I've never heard about a collectors edition being released in 2006. That's odd. I think it is just a different name for the same thing, since a lot of the press releases for the Limited edition called it a "collectors edition".

Often B&N will put in titles as place holders until the actual title is published, this allows people to pre-order. After the real book comes out, those orders are transferred over. Normally, the dummy "book" disappears. This is common for exclusive books or books that have a huge demand.

    http://www.buymusichere.net/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=230&upc=081095964X&pt=6&affnr=-1 $198.24
    http://www.looneytunescds.com/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=45&upc=081095964X&pt=6&affnr=-1 $212.40

But not all of these sellers seems to actually have the book in stock?

Overstock.com did have the limited edition book on discount, but now they only have the $50 book on sale $29.93
    http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=1511081

B&N is listing the Limited Edition book (published in 2005) for full price $295
    http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780810959644&itm=2
or $236.00 if you are a B&N club member (club costs $25 per year)

    http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9781932771992&itm=4
Shows not available. This may have been the Limited Edition that was also signed? (as suggested in posts above)

If you want a signed copy, the SideShow has them full price, but on flexpay:

They also have a nice gallery of photos of what the LTD looks like, if you scroll to the bottom of that page.

Yes and yes. It's got pictures of just about everyone, but some get more detailed photos than others. Are there particular characters you are looking for?

I got just the regular edition at Borders Bookstore for $50 plus tax. No swatches, but the pictures and the closeups speak volumes.

You get more photos in the limited edition. It was worth the money for me. Granted, I did get it with my B&N employee discount, but I would have paid full price for it anyway. The only bad part is the tendency of the book to fall apart. A book that nice should have been bound better. [face_shame_on_you]

If I remember correctly, the LE one is 1.25-1.5 more in content (aka width of the spine) compared to the regular version. ;) There are also inserts showing the different boots worn in the Prequel, Booklet showing the different layers of Padme's White Battlesuit and a lot more.

Heehee.....one of these days when I have to bring the book out to show to my friend who is doing Vader the Vader Cape Swatch, I'll take a picture of the LE Book beside the regular one, including from the side. :p

I know offhand that there are some nice shots of Lumi but I'll have to get out my limited edition to check for the others. (I know most of them or in there, I just don't remember how much of them is shown). :)

    Hi guys!

For those of you lucky enough to own the special edition of The Book, I was wondering what does the DVD feature, and if the additional booklets contain new informations, or if they just have pictures.

    Thanks :)
