I did a Google search for "Sematex", and it asked me if I meant "SmutX". Who knew Google had a dirty mind?

I think there actually are different ones, because mine is Google Canada. But whatever caused it, it was amusing.

Well I live in the U.S., and it asks if I mean "SmutX" on the version of the google I use as well. Horray for the U.S.A.

 

I couldn't resist and can now report British Google does it too

 

Just popping in to say that Google Japan doesn't recognize SmutX as an alternative spelling for Semetex. In fact, I did a search for SmutX and couldn't find the .com site on the first two pages at 100 links/page.

I think that's because Japanese may be the first language option for Google Japan... Google Argentina just sents me to boring cloth manufacturers .

Lazy, one of these days you're going to have to come up with a board wide search function that we can actually use so that things like "Jedi Council forum fanfic trivia" won't be the first hit we get in a google search

It's really sad, I pretty much knew the answer to only one question and that was because it dealt with my own fic.

 

I second that.

 

I already did that. I created my own board-wide search engine called "Ask Yobi" which easily searches everything on the boards, including profiles and pre-edited posts. It's how we were able to answer all the questions in a little over an hour.
