This scene is evidence against that judgement... along with plenty of other scenes that are so off-tone I wonder what the thinking is. Vader's Frankenstein's monster moment and Anakin's point of view being others. So we have three of the key moments of Anakin's transformation being executed very poorly.

And we have fans defending to the death these moments, yet being incredibly touchy and irrational with TLJ.

Anything with Anakin and Padme attempting romantic dialogue

@redxavier imo Ian Mcdiarmid had one of the strongest acting performances (ROTJ) and one of the weakest acting performances (ROTS) in the whole saga...

    Anyway, from the prequels...

    - Anakin and Padme's fireplace romance scene
    - "I don't like sand"
    - Darth Maul's death
    - Nute Gunray and the Separatists leaders deaths
    - "I'll try spinning, that's a good trick!"
    - The three Jedi Master's getting cut down by Palps in 5 seconds
    - "Dew it!"
    - UNLIMITED POWAHH
    - "I am the Senate"
    - "I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead. Every single one of them."
    - "You turned her against MEEEEE!"
    - Grievous and Obi-Wan fight on the landing platform
    - "Not if anything to say about it, I HAVE!"
    - Anakin choking Obi-Wan

    ...and so much more

The way Palpatine landed on the chair after Yoda Force Pushed him. The problem here is that it was definitely an intentionally funny moment to show hilariously clumsy evil old man. Still it strikes me as awkwardly funny as hell. In a very positive way of course.

Kylo taking his helmet off in TFA. Don't know if anyone's mentioned that one.

Isn't it funnier that she somehow knows about "that hangar"? Surely that's the punchline.
You forgot the all time classic.

When Mace says, "a Sith. Lord?" The delivery of that line just makes me chuckle. Followed of course by the, "are you sure?"
Also when the Emperor says, "I have waited a looong time for this moment. My little green friend! Mmffeheheheh!"

Said in Watto's delivery, it sounds even worse.

I liked Watto, but some of his lines can sound "super weird", especially with his delivery.

    - When Finn and Rose flee on the hyena creatures and their circa-2001 CGI. That was embarrassingly bad, like something straight out of an early Harry Potter film.
    - The way Finn and Rose end up in the same cell with this escape artist was laughable.
    - When Finn and Rose look over to see the hyenas reuniting with a group that just happens to be wandering outside, so that Rose can drop an eye-rolling line, was laugh-out-loud funny.
    - Rose nearly killing Finn to tell him he shouldn’t sacrifice himself.
    - The notion of Han somehow still having to do his smuggling thing at such an old age. Not that he’d be incapable but there’s something so pathetic about it.
    - Any scene with Yoda fighting.
    - Space Leia
    - Everything about the Han Solo movie
    - Boba Fett’s pathetic downfall
    - Boba Fett not only escaping the sarlacc, but killing it in the process. Such a fanboy move on the writers part.
    - Some of the rebel pep talk stuff from ROTJ, TLJ, and RO
    - The way Luke put dye in his beard for no reason for his force apparition. It’s just funny that he was self-conscious of his looks.
    - Porkins’ death was shockingly brutal, the way he screams from the pain of the explosion just before he’s engulfed in flames. Kinda made me laugh because it was a tonal clash.
    - Similarly, the violence of that scout trooper who spins out and just explodes when he hits the tree. So sudden.
    - The Jedi Council’s ineptitude.
    - Any time we see a race put into a typecast role just because that was what their most iconic character did. For example, all Hutts being criminals just because Jabba was.
    - Boba Fett holding Jango’s severed head. The morbidness of it distracts from what it’s trying to convey about Boba.
    - Padmé’s absurd tolerance of Anakin’s fits of rage.
    - The younglings’ training and how close they are together with active lightsabers.
    - “Only a Sith deals in absolutes” has to be the greatest oxymoron ever spoken in the saga.
    - “And you looked at my like nobody else had” was probably the worst line since the one above.

Sorry to be this dude (and I only point it out because it's a fun thing for you to look out for) :-B...but he's just holding his helmet. You see the shadow of Jango's head flying away after Mace cuts it off!

The way C-3P0 tosses the dead Jawas onto the fire in ANH. Very dark scene when you think about it, but for some reason I always found it funny.

It's really weird but I've never had a problem with this at all and I didn't find it funny. I mean the guy is trapped in a suit just realized that all hope is lost. He already growled and lost his temper. It actually feels like a natural reaction to me but I know I am in the minority!

I think when Yoda is with Luke in ESB when they first meet. And Yoda is going through Luke's belongings and food. "Aw you cannot get your ship out!" Yoda rules.

The dramatic scene where you just see Kylo's smashed helmet on the ground smoking... because Rian Johnson crushed it by jumping on it multiple times ;)

I see your point. I think the problem is perhaps the "Nooo!" needs to be a lower pitch and Vader maybe kneeling in despair. I think in the cinema the scene works, but watching again now, I suppose it is a little funny. But it is truly tragic yes. The Padme funeral scene coupled with the music really works.
