Here is a space for everyone to share their opinions on films, television, music, art, books, comics, and games that they believe are not widely shared by others.

    Rules:

    • Opinions must be unpopular. Avoid statements such as "I somewhat like The Last Jedi."
    • No political discussions.
    • Do not criticize or make fun of others for their opinions.
    • Do not argue with anyone. If you disagree, reply politely.
    • Lengthy rants are allowed, but stay on topic and avoid unnecessary rambling.
    • Embrace your unpopular opinions and share them freely.

    I will start:

I still love The Cosby Show despite what Bill Cosby has done. Personally, I choose to separate Bill Cosby from Cliff Huxtable. For me, they are two entirely different people, as opposite as they could possibly be. I simply cannot reconcile the idea that they are one and the same, so I choose to think of them as if they existed in two parallel universes.

This mental separation is made easier for me due to the fact that I am Italian, and in the Italian-dubbed version of The Cosby Show, Cliff Huxtable is voiced by Ferruccio Amendola. His voice creates a sort of barrier between the real-life Bill Cosby and the fictional Cliff Huxtable. Another thing that helps me separate them is the fact that the name of the show in Italian is completely different. In Italian, the family’s name is not Huxtable, but Robinson. Therefore, the show is called The Robinsons, which means that the name “Cosby” is not even present in the title. It is as if Bill Cosby does not exist in the show at all, and this helps me a lot.

I understand that not everyone is able to separate the art from the artist, and I respect that. However, for me, the voice of Ferruccio Amendola in the Italian dub provides just enough distance to allow me to continue enjoying The Cosby Show for what it meant to me growing up, without the constant reminder of the real-life issues. In my experience, Cliff Huxtable speaks with Amendola’s voice and the name of the family is Robinson. These differences help me maintain a clear distinction between the fictional loving father and the real-life serial rapist, allowing me to continue appreciating the show without feeling conflicted.

JFK might just be John Williams’ best score.

In Batman media, Damian Wayne always grows massively less interesting the fewer adopted siblings and associates his dad has, and should always, always be played with a sense of humor, and not in a completely straight forward.

He's weirdly a bigger brat the fewer "goody two shoes" siblings he has, and he needs at least one or two siblings who just flat out don't like him or pity him to offset how Nightwing is so understanding and careful with him.

He needs either Tim Drake calling him Cousin Oliver or Stephanie Brown treating him like the babysitting charge from hell she still pities.

I don’t really have a problem with the Seinfeld finale.

I hated I Saw the TV Glow and found it to be pretentious wannabe David Lynchian nonsense, and Justice Smith was especially terrible in it. Do I feel rotten for hating it? Absolutely. Every damn day that I have this signature up. March 3rd can't come fast enough

    Elvis’ songs are unbearable.

Ryan Reynolds is painfully unfunny most of the time.

Bookmarking this thread because I have this sinking feeling that I'm going to like Emilia Perez once I get around to watching it.

I happen to like The Rise of Skywalker and consider it the best film in the sequel trilogy. :)

"Tombstone", directed by Kurt Russel via George P. Cosmatos, is a better movie about the O.K. Corral than "My Darling Clementine:, directed by screen legend John Ford.

I'd agree about Tombstone versus ALL other OK Corral movies - The Earps benefit dramatically a lot more from having even just some of their less savory characteristics referenced.

I say this as a fan, but the move to satellite radio is simultaneously the best and worst thing that happened to The Howard Stern Show.

I agree! It's clearly the weakest of the four, but it introduces a lot of good game-mechanical ideas and the story is interesting!

Wallach carries a whole lot of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, while Van Cleef's role as Angel Eyes isn't quite as good as Col. Mortimer, Eastwood's Man With No Name is much more interesting when he's almost a supporting character to Mortimer, and Volonte gets an even meatier and meaner villain as El Indio than he had as the excellent Ramon in Fistful of Dollars.

...And Harmonica's a better version of The Man With No Name because he gets a bit more story and character, and Frank is as good as any of the villains in the Dollars Trilogy because Fonda had that untapped potential as a villain for Frank.

Yeah; my only real issue with The Sopranos finale is that we don’t get to see Tony hear/process the Phil Leotardo final development.

Another unpopular opinion: I think that Shrek the Third is a good movie, and I personally believe that it should have been the end of the franchise. It was such a wholesome finale, and it was ruined by the fourth movie. (Realistically speaking, the first movie did not need a sequel in the first place, but I like the second and the third movie.)
