Here is the first image of Bioware's new, unannounced project, set for reveal at the Video Game Awards show next month.

The image reveals a fantastic-looking collision in a desert setting. Like what you see?

The Video Game Awards show airs on Saturday, December 10 on Spike TV, MTV2 And Spike.com at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Looks very... actiony.

 

If that isn't from BioWare's long-rumor-whispered Ultima reboot, I'll eat my hat!

 

Looks vaguely postapocalyptic.

I hope its development hasn't taken anything away from ME3.

BioWare's new game to involve RTS elements?

With their new title mostly under wraps, we?ve been passed a new rumor regarding the direction of the game. Our source has claimed that the title, while military focused, will incorporate RTS elements. BioWare has done great work with the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, but involving RTS elements into a military style game is still something that consoles haven?t seen accomplished in a widely successful manner. While Halo: Wars was a solid effort in the RTS genre, we?re interested to see what BioWare may have in store.

 

Given my more recent experiences with BioWare, they should have this under the working title of "Lowered Expectations".

 

It had better not involve resource-gathering.

That is all I have to say on the matter at this time.

 

Well it can't be worse than Sonic Chronicles, so.

One slightly dispointing project and everything Bioware does in future is destined to be terrible. I'm quite looking forward to seeing them work with a completely clean slate.

As for the RTS elements, I'm willing to wait and see where this goes. Chances are we aren't going to get much confirmation about gameplay until E3 though.

I'm not sure what to make of it.

 

A great many people found DA2 disappointing.

 

I think it's pretty important to also note that this is not being made by the Dragon Age or Mass Effect teams, but a completely new Bioware studio. At least that's what I understand is going on.

 

And Awakening. And TOR.

 

the same can be said of every single game created in the history of video games.

 

I for one found Pong to be an immense let-down. I was led to believe it was a fully digitized version of "the table tennis" as the peons colloquially refer to it, but instead it involved two white lines, a score, and a square that I was meant to believe was a ball. This despite the fact that balls are typically of a round persuasion. I have no choice but to conclude that Atari are hacks and that it's all downhill from here.

Yes, but the reaction seemed more vocal for DA2. Also people that call TOR disappointing are jumping the gun and I ignore them.

 

DA2 was a good game. It's just when it's sat next to the original Dragon Age it feels like the worst step backwards since someone thought it was a good idea to burn down the Library of Alexandria and put a Starbucks on the site.

 

I was referring to DA2. I found DA2 disappointing.

Frankly, I'm not as enthused about Bioware these days since EA bought them out.
