    Oooh. This sounds delicious. :)

Its a shame that this wasn't in the latest Insider, because most of the magazine was complete tripe. [face_plain]

I used Tao in a very gimmicky way, but that was intentional. I was going for a high brow version of a low brow joke. It's unibrow.

I must concur that cutting almost ANYTHING from the most recent Insider to fit in Legacy would've been an improvement.

Heh, haven't seen one of those for the better part of a decade.

Its not Vader's Legacy, but Vader 1980 has some interesting bits of information, though just about everything we already knew. It does, however, sum up the classic Vader appearances rather nicely.
Vader had given Domina perfunctory training in the Force, enough for her to trigger dilemmas for Skywalker -- like animal attacks that forced him to violently defend Domina, despite the reverence for peace and life on the world.

So Domina was Force sensitive? I think that's new... [face_thinking]

-The article confirms that the Holiday Special cartoon takes place before "The Frozen World of Ota."

-It is reconfirmed that Obi-wan acts through Luke in SotME.

First mentioned in the Essential Guide to Characters. That Domina info is new and interesting, though. Hmmm....

    >-It is reconfirmed that Obi-wan acts through Luke in SotME<

This is a pet peeve of mine: since that was very strongly implied in the original novel, and stated outright in The Essential Chronology, wouldn't we expect it to be "reconfirmed"? :p How much confirmation of established facts do we need nowadays? ;)

Does Vongarella finally get a name (Sith or otherwise)? And a backstory would be great too!

With the change of hands I'm sure everything is chaos right now. However, it was bought, and it has been said that past contracts would be honoured, so it's still more than in play.

I was thinking maybe they were holding it for a 30th Celebration special or another Vader Special, but with the publisher changing hands who knows.

I simply couldn't put it any better than that.

Anyone have some bad karma they can exchange so that existence will let this come out this decade?

    Anyone?

Maybe we can e-mail him and pay him Five bucks for a copy.

And give him plausible deniability :)

I'd look on the fact that we're not hearing anything as a good thing--it's on hold, maybe indefinitely, but I'd wager we'll see it at some point. Probably later this fall, as a tie-in to Force Unleashed, since they missed the LOTF boat.

The problem with Abel is that he keeps coming up with all these cool ideas for obscure characters like Lumiya and Ailyn Vel...and then other authors go and use them in novels and he has no knowledge of it. Perils of working in a shared universe, I suppose, but how frustrating it must be to see them in flashy new $7.99 novels while ones own article sits on the back burner because of it.

Of course, I'm sure that the change of Insider ownership hasn't helped any...

    "I know."

    It is.

    QFT

    Yes, if it gets approved.

Tempting, your majesty. It's true, the waiting is painful, and the transition to a new publisher is not an enjoyable experience. But it's a small price to pay ... for eternal gratitude!

Continuity for a "little guy" like me is a double-edged sword, no pun intended. I've always tried to limit liberties I take with others continuity to things I knew weren't likely to be revisited, or if others had already thoroughly "crossed the line" (the Emperor's Hands and Grand Admirals projects are two examples). But, you know, if Tim Zahn's creations can be coopted, who am I to complain? It is a form of flattery, after all.

    Take care,
    Abel

Ah, Insider 94. It has Vader on the cover, it has the giant word LEGACY on the cover. But will it have Vader's Legacy? Doubtful.

Seriously doubt it. I think we are going to have to await the release of Force Unleashed before we get this article.
