I voted for EU. But the films come 1st and don't have to follow the EU.
Up until recently, I only considered the movies cannon.
I'd like to read what happens between IV,V and VI.
I think I've been missing out.
Only the films are canon.
Lucas has said so.
I've been a fan since '77.
if only the movies were canon, i wouldn't be a star wars fan. i'd just be a normal guy that thinks those SW movie are pretty good flicks. the whole reason i'm a SW fan is because the story goes on in games, books and comics. that's what makes the whole thing more than just a sci-fi film series.
The films are the absolute top of hte canon list. Those are GL's words, not the words of a different writer. There are so many holes within the EU that it's hard to call it canon.
I consider the EU Canon.
Too much EU has been discredited. I like some of it, but its only one bossibility.
Too much EU has been discredited
Couldnt agree more. I think the EU is just silly anymore, some of these cool, and unique ideas are beyond ludicrous and escapes reality, even for a sci-fi.
I like aspects of the EU. I don't like the NJO books
[rant] Frigging authors killing off major characters!!! [/rant]
BUT... I think the idea is cool and when I think Star Wars the Solo kids, and Mara come to mind... so they're Canon to me
Only the films
I support the idea of the 'Expanded Universe'
I consider the parts of EU that don't condradict the movies to be canon.
I voted ´only the films are canon´. But I love the EU
EU is canon. In fact, I enjoy it more than the films.
EU is Canon.
Although I like the EU so far, I voted that only the films are cannon. Only reason is that I think the integrity of the saga would be too confused with all the EU stuff in there.
the only Eu i really ever liked were the x-wing books. but i still don't consider it canon. the fact that GL reserves the right to contradict the EU at will decided it for me. the books are written around the movies, not the other way around. so basicly to me it is pointless to consider the books on par with the films. plus the movies are made for a mass audience to understand. the EU fills in gaps that don't really exist. all you need to know is in the films.
I think the EU is canon.
Eh, I don't like to define canon. The original film has its own canon, which in many ways ESB and ROTJ break and the prequels break even further. I love the original film, enjoy ESB, and mostly ignore the other films and entirely ignore the EU.
I prefer the EU to the films.
Without the EU there is no Thrawn, Vergere, Lumiya, Darth Revan, Jacen Solo, Ben Skywalker, Emperor Fel, Imperial Knights or Darth Traya.
I cannot vote in this poll as only the OT is canon.
I also prefer the EU to the movies.
Without the EU...oh wow, so many great characters would be missing.
