    IC Nagai Fleet
    Rothana, mercurial Nagai

At the destruction of the Tof missiles that the Nagai had launched Den Siva shrugged, this was a battle of feints within feints within feints. The noise that the Tofs had introduced into the comms made him chuckle as he considered options. Stalking over to his command chair he reclined into it with an almost feline grace, a lazy smile on his face. His command team was a well oiled machine, the Mandalorians included and there was little he had to do, save advice and give minimal directions.

His fingers stroked the arm of the chair and the smile widened fractionally as the comm chimed. Unsurprised, he spun it to face the holo pickup, seeing it blank but hearing the voice of the Mandalorian Warleader who commanded that portion of his fleet. Standing, he walked to the holo display, his long hair waving as he shook his head with a wry expression. Of course the Mando would call right now, when the Sun Guard was beginning to take a heavier interest in the shipyards.

And, given what he suspected of the reason for the call, his fingers stroked the knife at his waist, it was also not a surprise that the channel used was the one he’d been using to send messages to the Sun Guard itself. “Admiral…what are you going to do about the fact the Sun Guard has wiped out the Rothanan Defense Force and is laying claim to the shipyards?” the almost mechanical voice behind the helmet asked.

“Nothing, they have not gone against the unspoken agreement we made.” Den replied calmly.

There was anger in the Warleader’s voice now, “They will and they will try to make all who are not their vassals pay for what they believe is disobedience.” he said firmly.

Chuckling again, “They are what they are, Warleader. Yet they have not actively gone against that agreement.” he repeated.

“They seek to keep the shipyards from any but themselves.” the grating voice came. “Recall our agreement, I expect it to remain fulfilled.”

The line went dead, Den looking over the shoulder of the comms officer to see if it had been as widely broadcast as he suspected, whether the Sun Guard had heard or not.

A second, secure channel opened, “Plan Bravo in effect, Admiral.” the same voice spoke, the Warleader, before the tactical officer cried out, “Sir…the Mandalorians have…half their number have turned on Rothana. They are…”

Den walked over to the tactical display, eyes scanning it. A sharp nod as he saw that the missile and torpedo heavy smaller capital craft of the Mandalorian portion of the fleet had broken off from the others, had turned their tubes on the shipyards themselves, wave after wave of missiles aimed at what all three fleets had come to claim, to reduce it all to rubble.

Taking the two strides over to comms, “Contact the siblings, tell them Plan Bravo.”

    --/--

    Onboard the Inferno

The modified corvette was a raging beast, in the hands of Romulus and Remus. They led the craft Den had assigned them, ravaging and harrowing the edges of the Tof fleet. Their job was as much a distraction as it was a full assault. If the Tofs were offbalance and unable to project strength that was what mattered, so that the rest of the fleet could remove the Tofs from the battle.

The comm chimed, a secure channel, two words spoken. “Plan Bravo.” It went dead as the pair looked at each other, grins forming. ”And they say we’re insane, the Mandalorians are even worse.” Rem quipped.

Both sets of eyes flicked to the tactical display which had begun to give a readout of the destruction the Mandalorians were doing to the shipyards. Rom’s eyes stayed on it, chuckling, ”We don’t truly need them so why should anyone else have them…” he muttered as an alarm sounded.

Rem pulled up a secondary tactical display. Then let out a laughing cheer of sorts. ”The Sun Guard are…let us say they are providing just what we need.”

With her hands on the controls, she maneuvered the stealthed corvette among the many pods the SSD had released, flying around and among them, their other small ships mimicking the manuever, using the Sun Guard’s pods as, hopefully, a blot on the Tof’s sensors, so both attacks went in at the same time.

”Vengeance Squadron,” she’d just come up with that as she commed on the encrypted frequency the attack group was using, ”Use the pods to confuse the Tofs, let’s burn those fat pirates from the skies.”

    THE RISHI MAZE

    FIREBASE ALPHA

1.5 terameters from a black hole there was a large asteroid.

It had, once upon a time, it had been surmised, been a component of a much larger world.

Thereafter, it had, unbeknownst to the Galactic Empire, been converted into an illegal energy mining facility by the Rebel Alliance, and actually had once upon a time been supplied by the crew of the Millennium Falcon before the Battle of Yavin, many decades ago now. That had been desperation, for the base was distant from the hyperlane to the Rishi Maze - the Zareca String.

When the war moved from guerrilla warfare to liberation of the galaxy, there was little need to maintain such a distant outpost.

Even the Resistance under General Leia Organa considered the distant planetoid to be altogether too far away from anything useful, but earmarked the location as a rendezvous point if need be, much like when the Rebel Fleet hid off the main galactic disc after the Battle of Hoth - it was at such a distant position that Luke Skywalker had his hand replaced after his traumatic brawl with Darth Vader.

But Firebase Alpha hadn't been dangerous because of the single hyperlane via Rishi, or the distance, or even the relatively nearby black hole.

No, it had been so because of the wreckage of a Sith warship that hung nearby. A battlecruiser in modern nomenclature, it nonetheless remained highly automated until the Millennium Falcon finished off its power source.

    But a Sith warship?

    In a satellite galaxy?

    How strange.

    THE SKIRMISHES OF RODIA

Fighters began to arrive from hyperspace, but the Yuuzhan Vong were ready.

Their coral ships were superior defenders to the ships of this galaxy, especially when they were immune to yammosk jammers, stutter-fire and had even been attuned to detect the eponymous Jedi Shadow Bomb.

It was oft forgotten that the Yuuzhan Vong had achieved these biotechnological feats in the last two months of the war named for them, largely because Zonama Sekot rendered such advances moot. The war had been won when Sekot leapt into the Coruscant system; Mon Calamari was all but lost, and the other half of the Galactic Alliance Defence Force had been caught out at Contruum. It was merely Sekot that turned the tide, and the subsequent Battle of Yuuzhan'tar ended the war only because the Supreme Overlord died.

Yuuzhan Vong A-vek Iiluunu carrier at their full growth could carry fifteen squadrons of coralskippers, and were oft screened by Uumufalh gunships with their forty plasma launchers. Rodia had apparently been the under their occupation for some time because of the shipwomb hanging between the planet and one of Rodia's moons, a chain of dovil basils running from it to the distant sun to harvest raw plasma, and Yorik-Trema ferrying materiels from the moonlet to the womb, and thus screened by the carriers and gunships.

The edge of the system was peppered with a handful of Vua'spar, but they were mainly to screen the approaches from surprises; they were ill-prepared for a fighter storm of this size, and the dedicated Interdictors - in-fact specialized Miid ro'iik - were shortly overwhelmed. That being said, this meant the Yuuzhan Vong were not just ready for a brawl, they were well alerted.

Aware of how tenacious the fighters of the Alliance and Empire had been in wars gone by, the Yuuzhan Vong response wasn't just to steer a fully mature carrier and six gunships towards the approaching raiders, but to send out in advance of their position ships designed for such engagements; not just the yoric-vec assault ship, a proverbial gunboat, but also the multiple-weapon-wielding yorik-slayer advanced fighters.

The slayer was a heavyweight; with six plasma launchers, a Voxyn-like shape and even a dovin basil hyperdrive, they were sleek, powerful and fast.

So the forces Adam sent were rather violently surprised, and bruised, if not broken apart completely, their formations hit hard.

By the time the lone coralskipper of Darth Mascon arrived, more than two thirds of the raiders were gone, for half as many Yuuzhan Vong losses.

The raids had begun three hours ago; some eighteen squadrons had engaged and the entry lanes were fraught with debris; production and construction was halted.

Oh, and at the heart of the shipwomb?

    A Koros-Strohna; a worldship.

    THE BATTLE OF MACCABREE

The moment the Tofs arrived, the Maccabree struck, rushing their old enemies with their craft.

Of course they had been watching the Tof homeworld.

    Of course they were ready.

In short order, several bulk cruisers had taken damage, but the Maccabree had fought best when apart of an alliance, working with the Nagai and Faruuni. The Maccabree specialty was in their armoured troops, not in their ships - so they launched landing craft.

The Tofs knew this, and their ships were already well-armored.

    They were, too, watching.

    And they were ready.

By the time the flagship of Barbosa arrived in-system, the forces of the Maccabree had been decimated and routed.

The world lay before them, their abandoned shipyards in orbit, and reports of sizeable armies on the surface marshalling.

The Tof fleet stood off, ready for orders, bruised, not bloodied, but victorious.

    THE BATTLE OF ROTHANA

The harassment fire of the Tofs continued unabated, joined by missiles.

Some of those missiles approached the Interdictors from surprising angles, but the Sun Guard knew how to defend their key ships, and the Sovereign itself had gravity well generators too. Nonetheless, some of the Interdictors took damage, and the scope of the gravity well affecting the system was reduced.

    But not by much.

That might have made a difference had the two-thirds remaining of the Tof fleet focused on escaping, rather than turning aside entirely and advancing in-system. The Nagai-Mandalorian forces were split between targets, while the Sun Guard were split between capturing the shipyards and firing upon the Tofs.

The twists and turns of manipulation were going against all involved, and the edge the Sun Guard, Mandalorians and Nagai had acquired over the Tofs was squandered, and the turn and charge of two-thirds of the Tof fleet made a difference for a variety of reasons... suicidal as it was.

Firstly, they were hard jamming many of the lines involved, save for those the Rothanan's used.

This made no difference to the Sun Guard, who had already reinforced the defenses of the Interdictors and issued commands solely from the Avarice to launch boarders at the Tof.

Secondly, the Mandalorians and Sun Guard turned assets and guns upon the shipyards, which promptly, in short order, erupted into flame.

This saw the Rothanans contribute their own jamming to that of the lines the Nagai, Mandalorians and Sun Guard used.

While last minute orders sent Nagai among the Sun Guard landing craft, the Mandalorians and Nagai were almost at odds here and now.

For every boarding action the Sun Guard commenced, the Nagai did too, transforming a full third of the remaining Tof ships into an utter mire. But the remaining third was unmolested, and opened fire upon the Sun Guard and Nagai fleets.

    Casualties were mounting.

    Badly.

Now the jamming would cause grief between the Mandalorians and Nagai survivors... and would cut Darth Mascon off from his Interdictors. But the Tofs had a chance to take back a third of their fleet.

A third of the Tof fleet was caught in aggressive boarding actions between the Nagai and Sun Guard; a third of the original force remained.

The Nagai capital ships were wiped out, leaving one half of the original force made up of mostly Mandalorians.

The Sun Guard warships took damage, reducing the effectiveness of the Avarice by half, and crippling the defenders of the Interdictors, reducing their overall strength to a half of the original force.

The Rothana shipyards were 100% destroyed.

    IC: Nihl

The young Nagai stood over his world, atop a white-blasted building, watching hundreds, no thousands - tens of thousands of his kin.

    There was a gathering on-going.

A memorial, a vigil, initially, but it was going badly.

    Tensions were high.

The Force-sensitive man, who had briefly sauntered into Known Space to acquire knowledge of his power, could sense it.

While Rem and Remus were off fighting galactic warfare, Nihl, not yet Darth, was here, watching his world feel the after effects of the civil war on Saijo, a Nagai world for decades. Almost every Nagai family knew of someone there, and the violence was poised to spread here.

The Mandalorians could not be trusted.

    He knew that.

He had fought besides and against them more than once.

    The Tofs were active again.

He turned his head as he watched the procession, sensed a cloaked sentient approaching -

His hand touched his lightsaber's activation switch -

    Snap-hiss -

The red blade made the crowd look up -

The figure threw something from the shadows -

    A grenade!

He reached out a hand, hurled it up into the sky -

    BOOM!

The detonation rattled the very teeth of the crowd, shattered windows, upturned children, but nobody died.

    But the tension was ignited.

Nihl leapt down, trying to chase through the crowd after the attacker -

It was starting to turn nasty, and he could almost hear the tell-tail shik of Nagai knifes being unholstered, a dozen, no a hundred times, over.

He caught the smallest glimpse of the assailant as he looked back through the throng of people to see if Nihl would catch up with him.

    He couldn't, not at all.

But he did see the man's face.

    A Grysk.

    1. Saijo's civil war ended with the decimation of the populace.

    2. Nagi began a slide towards civil war.

    3. The Faruuni shipyards pressed on with construction.

Round THREE update: The Faruuni have a third of a fleet.

    4. The Maccabree fell to the Tofs; its abandoned shipyards and the planet itself remain unconquered for now.

    5. The shipyards of Rothana were destroyed.

ROUND FOUR update: A third of the Tof fleet was caught in aggressive boarding actions between the Nagai and Sun Guard; a third of the original force remains.

Nagai capital ships were wiped out, leaving one half of the original force made up of mostly Mandalorians.

The Sun Guard warships took damage, reducing the effectiveness of the Avarice by half, and crippling the already damaged defenders of the Interdictors, reducing their overall strength to a half of the original force.

The Rothana shipyards were 100% destroyed.

    6. The cloning facilities of Kamino are nearly restored.

Round FOUR Update: Skirmishing with Yuuzhan Vong scouts prevented the planet from contributing to the war much.

    7. Kinooine went silent.

    10. Lwhekk and it's half fleet remains Neutral.

    11. Zonama Sekot - and it's half fleet remains Neutral, and confirmed that they could not influence the Yuuzhan Vong at Rodia or Rishi; indeed Warmaster Nas Choka had thus far refused to intervene in Known Space.

    12. The capital worlds of Vhetin, Zakuul, Tof and Mon Calamari remained well-defended. Vhetin and Mon Calamari are each defended by half a fleet, Zakuul by a fleet and a half.

    13. The Six Sisters, a swathe of worlds between Nirauan and Zakuul, and some of the lesser Tof colonies, let alone Mandalorian Space proper - they all went silent. Seceded? Recused? Attacked?

    NEW DATA

    1. No new production this round.

    IC: Pirate Queen Naberie
    The Tides of Battle

She pounded her little green fist on the holotank in ineffectual furry! Her grief she let spill into her link with her sister. She had failed. Her first mission of her own choosing and she had caused the decimation of the First Tof fleet, lost the objective, and soon would likely loose her life. She had planned to use the shipyards and the Rothanan's defenses to bolster her own in an attempt to make a last stand that the other fleets would find too costly and leave.

Instead turning to the dockyard had spurned both remaining fleets to launch death and destruction, a war tactic of denial. She was too used to being a pirate perhaps, when you attacked someone they never blew up what they owned to deny you it, none but the ultra petty. In war, in war she should have expected such a tactic. It made sense in hindsight, but that was little consolation as half of her remaining third of a fleet was suffering from boarders. The only consolation was that they were mixed teams and likely working at cross purposes with Sun Guard and Nagai Mando boarders as likely to get in each others way as to take her ships.

Well, they weren't going to do that! "Link up the fleet! Boarder free ships aid the infested to repel these vermin from our decks! Maintain remote fire on the Interdictors and turn the fleet away. We have lost this battle." Stepping away from the fleet comm she felt her shoulders sag as she sat the Fleet commanders comm station.

Opening the channel she addressed their potential allies. "Rothana. On behalf of the Tof Empire - on behalf of myself. We have failed you." She bowed her head at the words, a tear finally sneaking to roll down her cheek. "If at all able we advise you evacuate or prepare for the worst. You are welcome to join us, if at all able we will aid any evacuees. Although I cannot guarantee our own, let alone their survival. Glory and Honor." She left the comm line open, as she turned and stared at the holotank. Watching her ships cut a hard jib and begin lashing together to weather the storm to evacuate. Long range missiles and weapons futilely still striking at the interdictors in a last ditch hope for a way out of this situation.

    THE BATTLE OF MACCABREE
    IC: Barbosa
    Witness to Stubborn Pride

The moment the Tofs arrived, the Maccabree struck, rushing their old enemies with their craft. That they were ready spoke well of them, that they didn't wait for any communications spoke poor of them. According to reports they had damage to their bulk cruisers, but otherwise had weathered the storm of the welcoming party.

Barbosa arrived in-system, learning of the events, and that the forces of the Maccabree had been decimated and routed.

The world lay before them, their abandoned shipyards in orbit, and reports of sizeable armies on the surface marshalling.

"Open a comm." Barbosa calmly stated after he finished the action reports as superficial as they were. Drawing the divines blessing that was proof and evidence of his right and station he looked into the rippling screen and tapping a command the Tof fleet took position in the skies of the world, cutting it off from any access to the local shipyard and deploying localized comm jamming around the facility. Hopefully these preparations would prove over cautious.

"Maccabree! Hear my words and ponder them, search your hearts and listen to me." His divine gift he poured into those words, to the world below on the open comm channel he was using. Now, withholding that power he waited a beat. Hopefully it would reach their minds, and let them swallow their pride. "I am a Tof, servant of the Divine, a station that allowed the free reign of the questing and bored that saw our nation become a ruling empire for centuries. It also saw the mere subjugation of races, exploitation of resources, and a focus on the frivolities and indulgences of life solely for those bored nobles enjoyment. And for that, I am here from the homeworld to apologize."

Standing from his throne he stepped forward and knelt, bowing his head. For certain the others on the bridge gasped and were shocked, but he had warned them that they would have to swallow their pride for this mission. He pushed a soothing of his blessing out to the fleet and to the world below. "We do not come to rule over you and enslave you again." Raising his head he stared into the holocams lenses with resolve, "It saddens my heart that you lost your fleet here, but let that be the last that any Maccabree that dies to a Tof, and the last that any Tof die to the Maccabree. I propose an alliance. Your people will be equals and will guide all world ground military actions. You will be the watchful eye that we never give ourselves to excess, and will ensure the fair and proper treatment of all as well as their protections. If you are open to such an alliance, please let me know. We will not make any further moves of aggression except in defense. We await your reasoned response." With that Barbosa cut the line and stood with a groan. Wizard whining and licking at his face and hands as he did so.

"Alright boy, alright. It's alright. Captain let me know as soon as they respond. Let us see if we shall have allies and hope or tragedy and security this day." With a nod he sat back, pulling a bag of nuts from his tunic satchel as he sat back to wait.

    IC Nagai Fleet
    Rothana, damnable Tofs

’Fracking Tofs…’ ran through Den Siva’s mind as he decanted from a shuttle, walking through the boarding hatch into the frigate that had become the flagship of the Nagai half, what was left of it, of their fleet. ’I’d rather have the Inferno right now but the Spymasters are using it very well.’ he thought as he made the short trip to the bridge. With the other Nagai around, even with the slightly unfamiliar layout of the frigate, he was able to easily navigate his way to the bridge.

By the time he arrived the crew already had information for him. He shook his head at the news, the Nagai, as long as they could be in close enough proximity, would have little trouble with the jamming that had arisen, due to both the Tofs and the Rothanans. The Mandalorians, however…He stalked over to the holo display, one finger tracing the blade of the knife on his belt. The Mandalorians would potentially be a problem.

He could see, in the display, that the shipyards had been completely destroyed. Walking over to the comms panel, he tapped out a message, choosing to deplete a good portion of the frigate’s message torpedoes, a last ditch choice when comms were down. Rothanan allies, we offer our sincerest apologies for the actions of the Mandalorians. They and we believe that the Sun Guard or the Tofs intended to take and force your people to build craft for them. Should any of the Nagai survive this battle we will bring news of the destruction home and send a reconstruction force to assist in rebuilding the shipyards. Admiral Den Siva

It was both truth and lie but politics and alliances often were. Whether the Rothanans accepted it or they decided they wanted well rid of all who occupied their space was their own choice and the Nagai would respect it. As the torpedoes launched, heading out on several vectors to avoid all of them being compromised at the same time, he concentrated, reaching out to the nearby Nagai on other craft. Instruct the Spymasters to take advantage of the reduction of the gravity well generators. For the Nagai!

    --/--
    IC: Mon Eskotandi
    Nagi

Since the fleet had departed for Rothana, Mon Eskotandi had been busy. The siblings that he’d recruited to be his bosses had gone with the fleet, leaving him to run all covert operations in the Nagai sphere of influence. Trouble had been brewing, factions among the Mandalorians were growing restless with the current situation and alliance, there were other rumors of dark activities, and their need to protect their polity as well as encouraging others to join them were not quite as fruitful as possible.

He’d sent several messages to the siblings but there had been no reply. Scouts sent to Rothana to discover why had either not returned or had reported back that they’d come within a jump of the system before discovering that there was a large, gravatic attraction to the system which suggested gravity well generators. In that time Knife had begun to grow restless with the lack of report from the fleet, demanding that he send even more messages to have his Spymasters, at least, return.

A distant noise, one he knew well from many operations, caught his attention. Glancing out of the window of his office he noted the district of the city that the noise had originated. His expression darkened as that was the direction where a memorial gathering to mourn the loss of life on Saijo was to be taking place currently. He had several operatives planted among the crowd as well as the cams that were observing the gathering.

Tapping several commands into the console of the desk before him holo cam views and micro cam views popped up around the edges of the desk. The smaller cams were of slightly lower quality than the main cams but all had focused in one direction at almost the same time. While he was reviewing the footage, reversing it and watching again, he heard a subtle cough from by the door of his office.

“You could cause a spy a heart attack like that, boss.” he snarked.

Knife chuckled, pushing off of the wall that he’d leaned against as he’d entered the office. He’d heard the explosion too and had come down here to find what his spy knew of it.

“The one who came with the siblings, Nihl, he sensed something just before the explosion.” Mon explained, gesturing at the same footage, taken from a wide variety of angles. “You can see as his lightsaber ignited before the blast. Grenade…”

With a sigh, one both Nagai shared, he brought up other footage, stilling it. Each image showed one thing, in the course of Nihl’s chase of the perpetrator. Knife growled…”Get me my Spymasters, now. I don’t care how but get them back from Rothana.” Pointing at one of the holos, which had an image of the distant Nihl in midleap over the crowd as he chased the figure, “And have him report here when he breaks off the chase.” One last growl escaped him before he vanished back out of the office to find someone to yell at for allowing that creature on their homeworld.

    --/--

    Pzob, the Inferno

    Romulus
and Remus had been closer than Den Siva had anticipated, when he sent out the message through the Nagai telepathic bond. When the jamming had intensified they and the squadron of Nagai fighters that had attached themselves to the modified corvette had broken off from the attack on the Tofs. They’d seen the pirates beginning to flee and had chosen to head back to where the fleet had been to regroup. Which was why they’d been in range, thanks to the higher abundance of their kind nearby, of the Admiral’s message.

A quick mental conversation between them and the squadron occurred before they boosted for the edge of the system. The effects of the gravity well generators, in the direction they had chosen, weakened as the distance increased. When the siblings were sure that the effects of the generators was less even than that of the hyperdrives of the fighters accompanying them, they engaged their hyperdrives for only a short jump, to the nearby system of Pzob, to regroup and plan their next course of action.

When they decanted from hyper in the system the comm of the corvette began to chime, repeatedly, with messages. Rem moved from the flight controls, leaving Rom to prepare for the next jump as she read through the comm log. ”Brother dearest, seems we have been quite missed back home. Oh…no…” she finished, in a quiet tone. ”Saijo is…has been massacred…” her voice came in a growl.

The comm chimed again, another message reaching them. A frustrated snot escaped Rem as she read it. ”It gets worse, the unrest has spread to Nagi and…even worse, they’re calling for our return because there is something even worse occurring.”

Slipping behind the controls, she tapped on one of the displays, bringing up the image their lieutenant, Mon, had included. A deeper growl escaped her, ”If those are there…”

Rom’s fingers danced over the controls and the navigation computer. ”To hell with Nagi directly.” he muttered. ”Tell Knife if he needs us that bad we’ll be with the Border Fleet, finding how or where they were infiltrated.” With the chime of the navicomp, he advanced the hyper power levers, the corvette and the squadron leaping out of Pzob and to the edges of the Nagai polity.

    IC: Sun Guard Fleet
    Rodia, unnamed kyber-infused coralskipper

Khei F'jajh cursed. This mission had just gotten a lot more complicated.

"These heretics shall pay for their interruption!" The Yuuzhan Vong Sun Guard cursed as she guided her ship into the fray, slipping into formation with another squadron of Yorik-Et and assisting them. She would have to see this through, and hopefully prove herself to be a worthy ally in the process in order to have any chance of a productive diplomatic discussion.

    Rothana, Sovereign-class Star Dreadnought Avarice

Darth Mascon smiled as the shipyard's destruction was finalized. It wasn’t the outcome he had hoped for here, as the introduction of two new factions to the mix complicated things, but all things considered, the result was satisfactory.

And just in time as well, as the Avarice was rocked by weapons fire actually penetrating its hull for once.

Still in the trance of Battle Meditation, he issued another command to his forces telepathically.

“Our job is done here. Regroup at Mon Cala.”

Moments later, the Sun Guard fleet would depart, bringing the Interdictors with them. Any forces in the system that wished to depart as well, may now do so.

    Random Tof Ship

Thychani Commander Vid Romen had a very special mission. Under the cover of what was a normal boarding operation was another.

You see, Vid was sent here to infiltrate an enemy, in order to gain intelligence on and destabilize a faction that was deemed a threat.

Vid, being both a Clawdite and a Force User gifted in Mind Tricks, was a natural choice for the job.

So when the Sun Guard fleet had departed without him, he did not worry. Most of his men had either died en-route to the boarding action or as part of it, or were in escape pods launching down to the planet below, and he was standing over his latest victim. A Tof officer, who he was about to replace.

Removing his helmet, he grinned and contorted his facial features, which then shifted into that of his fallen prey.

Meanwhile, the Sun Guard in escape pods launched towards Rothana absolutely would continue to fight, launching attacks against key Rothanan infrastructure in an attempt to further destabilize the world, even after the fleet had left.

Locations Added To The Galactic Map

    In Skyriver

Batuu - the key hyperspace junction between the Unknown Regions, Wild Space and the southern galaxy has taken many years to recover from its brutal occupation by the First Order. Many species are now setting up shop there especially as there is a flood of resources suddenly to hand to trade

Mokivj - a world that had been blocked off by an unknown faction relocating its moons to act as natural Interdictors, it has recently been exposed to the galaxy again, with fabled mineral reserves available again

Polis Massa - with the reappearance of the Kaminoans and clone technology, the natives here have begun quietly reaching out for customers for their own clone resources

Oon Tien - the collapse of the Eriadu Authority means that the Kathol Sector repair yards there are now independent. They are sufficient to support four Star Destroyers at a time, and even construct them

Lothal - Doonium reserves have been discovered after the bombardment of the planet by the First Order some months ago, which promptly moved on - mainly because of how difficult the local defenders are

Kril’dor - A Tibanna mine that the Empire has recently lost direct control of due to a local uprising that the Emperor has not cared to respond to for months

    In Rishi Maze

Base Alpha - an abandoned energy resource within an asteroid above a black hole

The Sith Warship - an abandoned and long crippled vessel, it is now believed to be the Undying, a warship constructed by the late Dark Lord, Darth Mekhis

    In Firefist

    No new systems located.

    IC Nagai Fleet
    Rothana, Sun Guard departing

The damage that had been done to the Sun Guard Interdictors seemed to determine the course of the battle. The Tofs had begun recovering ships that had been boarded even as most of their fleet fell back toward the safe limit to hyper out, with the Interdictors grav fields weakened. Den Siva watched the strategic situation develop as

As the three fleets fell back from the battle, the Nagai boarders, those that could, fell back to their fighters and scout craft. While they did, they left as many surprises as they could for the Tofs that would retake their ships, whether those surprises would be of immediate destructive capacity or whether they would remain hidden and fulfill their purposes at a later time. Either worked for the Nagai, anything to weaken the Tofs.

The Mandalorians, fresh from having destroyed the shipyards, or a portion of them as the Sun Guard did the same, fell back to join what remained of the Nagai half of the fleet. The jamming of comms caused by the Tofs still held, making communication between any ships all but impossible. With the ships shifting as closely as possible the comms began to pick up first static with the occasional word and then more and more until, at a close range, the ships were able to communicate.

The holo flared into view, the Mandalorian commander, somehow looking smug even behind his helmet, virtually standing before Den. “The Sun Guard runs, even though their terror troops are harassing Rothana.”

Den nodded, folding his arms behind his back, “All the forces are falling back, mostly heading away from both the planet and each other. It has been a high price to pay but none of us have come out the victor in this battle, although things have been learned about both of these foes.”

A noise sounded behind the Mandalorian commander, causing him to turn his head. “We should harass the Sun Guard, at least, until they leave. Destroy their landers and boarding craft.” he said, almost absently as he sought the source of the noise.

“If they are both falling back, even with the Spymasters having escaped the battle, we need to report to Knife about the outcome of this and rebuild the fleet.” As he finished speaking the comm filled with static, the image moving, what seemed to be blaster fire half seen through the static.

When it cleared a different Mandalorian’s face greeted him, a sterner looking one. “The Vhetin clan gives it’s greeting or should I say farewell, Nagai scum.” the man’s voice said. He nodded at someone off screen as the point defense officer of the frigate cried out to Den that the Mandalorian cruiser was training their weapons on the ship.

Den seemed unconcerned at the cry. Looking over at his second officer he nodded. Turning back as she hunched over a console, sending out commands, there was a grim smile on his face. “You did, perhaps, hear me mention the Spymasters, they do their jobs very well.” he said in a flat tone. His teeth appeared as he smiled, “Not to mention the shipwrights that built and upgraded your ships.”

He glanced over at his second officer as a look of concern flitted over the face in the holo. She nodded, a predatory smile also on her face.

Turning back, he had one eye on the display and another on the man before him. “The…my…fleet will be returning to Nagi.” he said flatly.

The face in the display wavered, this time not the actual display or comms issues, but the flesh of it did so for a couple moments. The head turned, growling something out to others on the bridge of the Mandalorian ship, before turning back to Den. “Your worlds will burn…” it snarled before the wavering of the flesh stilled.

Den kept his expression still but turned to the comms officer, “You recorded all of that, yes?”

The young Nagai was pale but nodded.

Turning back, “You’re welcome to try.” he stated, once again in a flat tone, to the figure in the holo. Waving it off, he stalked away from the display to the tactical one. “How many?”

“Sir, the signal activated in all of the Mandalorian fleet save those with damage to their main computers or drive units. Their flagship managed to wrest control of all but weapons systems from the signal. Otherwise, we took back over two thirds of the fleet and messages were sent to enure the Vhetin do not compromise those ships.”

Den nodded then returned to the command chair, “Get us out of the system, course set for Nagi.”

As the fleet, the Mandalorian ships the Nagai shipwrights had built a backdoor into for the Nagai included, turned, heading away from the Sun Guard the small component of them left raced off in a different course, presumably headed to the world the Vhetin had taken for their own.

Shaking his head as he sat in his command chair, “Perhaps the Vhetin but..that was no Vhetin, unless that clan has taken Grysk into the clan.” he muttered.

    IC: Pirate Queen Naberie
    The Ebb of War

Then the reprieve came, that blasted and blessed moment were things you didn't hope for come true. One enemy fleet left the system. The other was doing similar maneuvers. As the Tof fleet engaged in rescue operations pausing in their retreat she ordered them to slow their leaving to allow the ships to better couple up and aid in dismissal of any boarding action notions of stealing a ship from the Pirate Queens Fleet! "You don't steal from me, I steal from you." she snarled ineffectually now that the moments of danger had finally waned.

"All boarding aid! Remember use friendly airlocks or make your own. We're dealing with underhanded subtle trickery of Nagai, blatant bombers in Mandalorians, and Computer wizards of these Sun types, so keep your heads! Literally." she sighed the last as she finally did a final turn about the holotank. Now it turned to the worst possible situation, waiting, waiting and relying on her peoples training.

Hearing the door to the bridge swish open she saw the ships chef step lively in with a couple porters laden with trays loaded with topped tankards. "Mister Steel-haul, that better not be what I be thinkin' it is!" She barked out, although the smile on her face dismissed the sound of reprimand.

"Wouldn't dream of it Captain!" he laughed back heartily. A Tof chef was one of those rare positions that only answered to the Captain. Playing as part time councilors and health experts that you never defied lightly. "Now this, this is my own dear grannies sea-snapper root tea. Got enough stoutness to it to make you test your ability to close your eyes for a day, maybe two on a wee thing like yousa' Captain. Now drink up and none of that sputterin' unless you want to insult my granny?"

With a half hearted show of wanting to do just that she finally took the tankard he held out to her. The thing looked fine in his hands, but as she took it she noted once more how the thing was nearly as big as her head and made her feel like a child sneaking a drink from the adults table all over again. Taking a sip she dutifully fought back her bodies betrayal in trying to rebel as she glared at the chef.

"No worries mam, just ours." he stated with a wink and walked away to serve the actual captain of this vessel and other bridge officers. He seemed incapable of calling the boss of a vessel anything other than Captain, but his food was good and so long as he was telling the truth that only hers and his tankards would be spiked she would let it slide for now. Watching the tank she noted a few command lines. The Tof would not be letting any boarders get away free if it could be helped. The punishment for attempting to steal a Tof boat was death, and they took that rather seriously. So fleeing ships and escape pods alike would be blasted on principle, but she made sure to transmit an order for all non-Tof nor Rothanan anything heading to the planets surface be blasted out of the skies as well.

"We'll hold here until everything is secure, we're not about to jump compromised ships so full inspections once secure, and wait to hear what the Rothanan's would like us to do." With that order relayed to her vessels actual captain she nodded in approval, did one last lap of the tank before pausing. And with that she took her seat by the tank and propped her boots on the edge, settling back as she sipped her 'tea'. Watching the color coded lights for any change.

Survival was always a victory in her book, so she would take it.

    IC: Emperor Snoke

    He mused.

Rats were loose within his star system. A rogue Agent, the key to the AGENT project… Jedi and smugglers.

The planet Jakku itself had been lost; the siege was keeping them in-place but Snoke dare not strike with the Tho Yor becoming depleted.

He needed to keep an eye on the mundanity of things.

    Or risk it all.

Which brought him to his Grand Admiral. Thrawn had made his way back to his master, nursing a crippled Eclipse Super Star Destroyer to reach the second Starkiller Base. It had taken many more months than one would have expected, but then, the entire galaxy had collapsed into anarchy.

    As Thrawn was now explaining.

“The Empire’s infrastructure has collapsed. Without Gherlid’s fleet, let alone the forces of the Remnant and Maw, we have very little ability to project order. Our cruisers commit to raids for resources, and the remainder powers shy away from interfering coreward of the Mid Rim, but that will not last.” His voice was tight, showing the entire Outer Rim aflame.

“Without a strong centre, chaos has arisen,” Snoke said, bemused.

“Yes, your Majesty.” A finger indicated them. “The Outer Rim is now particularly balkanized. The Sun Guard seizure of Mon Calamari; the Hutt Kadijics civil war; Domain Lah harasses the latter end of the Corelian Run; the Airam clans have resurrected the Nocto shipyards; the Bothans stand apart with their half fleet of assault cruisers; the Senex Lords marshal an equivalent of Dreadnaught-class warships; the New Separatist Union is rallying updated Lucrehulk designs in similar numbers near Mustafar.”

“Let alone the depredations on the furthest systems by the Nagai and Tofs, or the Grysk and Adumari warlords.” Thrawn’s voice was grave, as scouts had reported a tremendous battle at Rothana, a world and shipyard that had been largely independent since the Battle of Coruscant over five years ago. “We run the risk of being unable to retake the galaxy.”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Snoke chided. “None of these powers are a threat to us. Beyond the Mid Rim has never been the absolute province of central government. You know this; you’re merely feint with this direction of analysis to divert me to the true threat.”

“The allies at Jakku, yes,” Thrawn confirmed. “They’ve consolidated their position and will inevitably come up with a detailed strategy to defeat you. None of the lesser powers will risk a confrontation with the Tho Yor, but those at Jakku, they have no choice and they will triumph.” His tone was pitched. “I have no doubt they will shortly locate this Base, and if they do, will attempt a strike at it before it is complete.”

“And you want permission to take our last Resurgent-class Star Destroyer there.”

A hesitation. “Yes, your Majesty. That is my recommendation.”

“Is that all you require?” Snoke groused. “A single full complement battlecruiser, to defeat our combined enemies?”

    Thrawn smiled softly. “Yes.”

Snoke sat back, used his height to peer at the Chiss. “You believe your tactical prowess a match for Antilles? For Dameron? Trec? For Ackbar? For Graul and Daala? For Aquilla? For Tiber? For Sabel? For Jedi and Sith?”

Thrawn met his Emperor’s gaze. “You believe your power a match for Jaina Solo? For Kylo Ren? For Skywalker’s son?”

“Touche,” he said, amused. “Go on, Grand Admiral. Destroy the rebels and return to me. We shall both be victorious, in our separate arenas.”

“Yes, your Majesty.” Thrawn bowed, and left.

He had a battle to win.

    Random Tof Ship

When the Tof started their inspections, any other spy in his position would have panicked. Not Vid Romen. All Sun Guard spies are issued just one piece of standard equipment: a compact, disassemblable hold-out disruptor pistol. Not necessarily included as a weapon, but as evidence disposal. You see, after Vid successfully replaced a Tof officer, he disposed of the corpse and his old armor and equipment with the disruptor, disintegrating the matter into nothing, and then disassembled the pistol and hid it on his person with Force Concealment. Any inspections going on would be hard pressed to find anything suspicious, at least on Vid.

However, in a strange twist of fate, before Vid replaced the Tof officer, he handed his light dagger to one of the many clone Sun Guard troops. These troops were actually lightly Force Sensitive, having been cloned from Kev-Mas Colcha I and fitted with Sith Talismans similar to the one used by Emperor Palpatine on the template for said clones, for the same reason: Control.

This talisman, which also served as Kev-Mas I's eyes, was fitted with kyber, bled to serve the master, but not the wearer. This resulted not only in Kev-Mas I's glowing red kyber eyes (as well as the Crimson Dagger nickname), but also the enslavement of his will to Palpatine, up until his first death at the Battle of Endor.

The new ones, on Kev-Mas' clones did the same. Well, that is until one of the Clones is allowed to come into contact with unbled kyber. Like the one fueling the purple blade in Thychani Commander Romen's lightdagger.

Almost instantly after touching the hilt, an apparition that had been blocked off by the power of the Dark Side had broken through.

The Force Ghost of Kev-Mas Colcha I would possess this body, and eventually spell doom for Mascon and his reign of darkness. Daddy's home, and he's taking his Sun Guard back from the Dark Lords of the Sith. Again.

    MORTIS

The dreadnought that was the largest of Tho Yor left the Adumar system.

It burrowed into hyperspace and arrived at the border of the Outer Rim and Mid Rim.

Regardless of whether the message from Snoke was interrupted or not, it deployed with a very specific set of orders; to define the borders between the First Order and the chaotic broken galaxy.

The entirety of the Outer Rim, Wild Space and Unknown Regions was left to the dozen factions of the galaxy.

Mortis began tracing a path of the Mid Rim, laying minefields, consuming smaller asteroids and planets and leaving automated TIE Daggers behind, or Mechtrooper legions. It was a slow and methodical process, and where it encountered resistance, Mortis promptly shattered it.

The First Order was sending a message.

The Deep Core, the Core, the Colonies, the Inner Rim, the Expansion Region and Mid Rim belonged to them.

    They were off-limits.

Any intention to breach that border would be met with violence.

Any coordinated action against its galactic minefield would be reciprocated violently. Any attempt to escape the First Order’s borders would be met with violence. This action would place Anaxes, Jakku, Nal Hutta, and even Rodia within their borders.

Mortis would take weeks if not months to trace a path around the galaxy, but it would complete its mission.

    THE OUTER RIM

Governance of the Outer Rim had been theoretical at best, at least since the Pius Dea crusades ten millennia ago.

Some argued that it never returned.

The Empire invaded the Outer Rim after the Clone Wars; the New Republic slowly but surely built alliances in the region, such treaties which were shattered when the Yuuzhan Vong invaded; the subsequent Galactic Alliance acted as a go-between with the various nations that had sprung up, and the Imperial Remnant inevitably spread its influence, as too did the First Order.

But now, the Outer Rim was on its own.

    In the NORTHERN OUTER RIM...

Bastion was isolated. The shipyards of Yaga Minor and Ord Trasi were nominally defended. The independent Cassander Sectors, Corporate Sector, Mandalorian Space and the Commonality were joined by the conquered territory of Mon Calamari. Resources at Gargon (raw materials) and Fest (precious metals) were free to claim. The beskar of Mandalore would be a tough nut to crack.

    In the EASTERN OUTER RIM...

    Nal Hutta
commanded a decimated territory. The territory between Rodia and Rishi was aflame; contested. The independent Centrality and Protectorate kept to themselves. The region had little in the way of shipyards, but it did have resources, especially inside Hutt Space at Sriluur and at Lothal (Doonium).

    In the SOUTHERN OUTER RIM...

The independent nations of the Coyn, the Airam Clans, the Eriaduan Authority, they stood independent. Whereas Coyn, in the Elrood Sector, had warriors, Airam had the shipyards of Nocto and Eriadu had its own as well as Sluis Van. The Kathol Sector also had the shipyards of Oon Tien, but was otherwise considered a backwater. The cloners of Subterrel rivaled those of the Kaminoans, but the region had the resources of Bespin (Tibanna), Sullust (raw materials) and Eliad (minerals). But it was notable that to the south-east was the independent Bakura, harassed by not the Ssi-Ruuvi, but the Iskalloni.

OOC: This abundance of planning has been brought to you by @Sinrebirth and myself
IC: CAG Darin Elysar, Admiral Terek Rogriss, Nadia ke Mattino
    Kamino

The CAG walked up to Admiral Terek Rogriss, "Sir, it seems they learned from last time. Though based on the footage, they had little time to enjoy their victory." They showed the Admiral the footage of the Adumari raid, plus the Sun Guard's attack on the shipyard. "It seems we have another problem as well." They paused. "We may want to send word back home for them to come up with a plan." They looked over to where the analysis software was working. "Unless that has come up with some sort of plan to deal with both the Vong and Sun Guard with minimal losses."

Terek pulled a face. “You say that, but neither of those factions are renowned for rolling over when they should.”

He wondered. “Unless we can turn the two problems into opportunities, that is.”

Terek stroked his moustache, an affectation he picked up from his father. “Should we lead one into the other?”

"Offer clues that lead them to Mon Calamari? Especially clues that show that one will not leave the other alone?" The CAG smirked, "Only fair that others have to fight on multiple fronts. It seemed to be a trap, could they have let Domain Lah know we were coming?"

“Wouldn’t surprise me,” Terek said lightly. “The Sun Guard seemed to be playing both ends against the middle to capture Mon Calamari.”

He was referencing the Sun Guard pouncing on the defenceless world after the Alliance and a menagerie of rogues fought for weeks to defend the planet from monoliths; a treacherous act of galactic proportions.

“But how are we going to entice the Vong that far? They’re clearly targeting the Rishi Maze - them and several Firefist powers.” He watched fighters explode and die to Yuuzhan Vong preparedness. “We should commit to a full assault somewhere while they’re busy at Rothana. We are well positioned, and these raids are not costly, but I don’t trust any of them - Nagai, Tofs, Sun Guards. I know Lyon’s is playing a long game, but we’re also keeping in check the Grysk and Ssi-Ruuvi and now Yuuzhan Vong. We can’t do everything.”

The CAG considered, "I'd like to strike somewhere, then again I almost know the Perator wants to strike at Jakku." they sighed, "Then again I think the Kaminoans have a sample of the atmosphere from Danglars, which might mean they will help us with that problem. Also, I believe Lyons is on Zakuul with three other people, so they want something there." he looked at Terek, "They might be close to something huge, so maybe we need to hold on and then we will have a better opportunity to act."

Terek pursed his lips. "Point taken."

"If we're going to turn this into a siege, we need something more than a few carriers a bridgehead, and to secure the territory from Kamino to here." Another moustache stroke. "Do we have the stomach for a harassment campaign?"

The CAG paused, "Our resources are finite. Also, given the data we have Rodia may be less of a problem with the shipyard there damaged significantly at least." There was another significant pause, "We should improve our position, shipyards leading back to our territory may be the key."

“You want to risk the Empire noticing us?” Terek was somewhat surprised. “We’re already focused on Wild Space and the Unknowns.”

A quirk of an eyebrow. “I want that shipwomb destroyed, and that’s all. We can come back for the rest later.”

"If we go for an all out attack and suffer the same sort of losses as the raid, we will bring attention to Kamino and potentially lose one sixth of our forces along with Kamino." To the CAG it was beyond unacceptable to them.

They held their hands up, "I do not want to take any shipyards, however I want other locations to improve their defenses against some of these invaders. Three shipyards destroyed or damaged so far, so we should say something. I figure Kuat Drive Yards does not want to lose another shipyard."

“Oon Tien?” He eyed the board for shipyards. “It’s independent, after all. Kathol outback. We’d have a presence in the southern quadrant too… and we could encourage them to accept defenders with what is happening.”

He was at a loss, honestly.

The CAG considered, "That would work, as would any independent places...except for the slavers, the Perator hates them. Though I was thinking about Bothawui, I do not think it would be difficult to get help from the Resistance - supporting shipyards. Empire...we probably need Lyons's plan to pay off before we try them right now."

"Then again, we should probably let the Perator know what we are planning as well."

"You want us to cross into the Mid Rim after the reports? I reckon Mortis will visit the Bothans sooner rather than not." He showed the galactic map. "Rodia is dead on the border, too."

"No, but eventually," they moved the map over towards Jakku, "That border will have to be tested in order to save the people around Jakku." the CAG hoped it would not just be the Adumari, but someone else would help as well. Maybe some of these other powers would eventually assist. Then again, maybe the Empire would have to go after them at some point should Snoke decide that the other parts of the galaxy were under control.

"I would say that Snoke committing so much of his military to one place is a good thing for us," Terek replied. "If we can capture the entire Outer Rim..."

"... I think we should commit more fully to conquering systems." He set his lips firmly. "To avenging Adumar."

"Do we really want to take places on the other side of the galaxy? Especially when places like Zakuul, Odessan, and Ahch To are around?"

The CAG considered something else, "Perhaps if we take anything, it's to secure the space around Adumar itself. I do not know if we are keeping Kamino."

“Why wouldn’t we? Science resources, and all that.” Terek paused. “You’ve already some ideas I can tell.”

The CAG shrugged, "I am just trying to expect what the Perator would want. She does not seem the type to want to rule some expansive empire. She seemed more content acting as a regional power."

"Yaga Minor," Terek said, suddenly, snapping his fingers. "We should take the shipyards there. Stop someone else doing so, and it gives us a position near Adumar."

The CAG considered, "It's a good idea, even if we have to give it back to Reige should they end up winning this... but maybe we can come to an arrangement." The CAG looked around the map and found another place, "O'reen? That could provide a good logistical base for us." They brought up its history, "They're trouble, and they have a habit of taking other ships, which would most likely mean ours... We might have to go after there to secure our position."

"Kril'dor? Maybe?" He pulled up the notes. "Damn, Mid Rim."

"O'Reen might be a problem, if we have to fight them off…”

The CAG pulled up a history on O'reen, "They might be a problem if we do nothing. They have a habit of stealing ships when they figure that they're behind technologically. I almost think that we have to have a contingency plan which may involve planetary invasion if they make any moves after our ships."

"Fine," Terek said. "But what about our little operation here? Pull back, or become more noncommittal?"

The CAG considered a long moment, "I think...I think as long as the Kaminoans are useful, we need to guard here. As much as I would want Lothal, it is awfully close to Mon Calamari, that might be later."

They moved the map around more, "I think Oon Tien and Yaga Minor and any Outer Rim shipyards between here and our colonies in the Unknown Regions should be contacted increase overall defense in this region. We need allies, so quietly contacting Eriadu and Airam Clans. Possibly Subterrel, they might help us with our atmospheric problems on Adumar. Closer to Adumar we probably need Ord Trasi. Then we need to contact more planets for resources."

The CAG moved the map over to Zakuul, "Whatever Lyons is planning, we probably need to secure the planet along with Odessan. Whatever his goal is, I think he is planning on piercing the Mid Rim barrier." They highlighted several parts on the galaxy map, "We need more training, better tactics, and better Intelligence on our enemies, both current and potential. We can send the RZ-4s out to scan places in the barrier for smaller level Celestial signals, if we can intercept and translate those then we can pierce the barrier as well."

The CAG had the computer search for a high-quality image of a ship, "If we do that, then we must plan on facing Mortis. That means we need to have enough numbers to make it retreat. Capital ships get destroyed quickly which means the first wave has to be made with starfighters. For that point I submit we need a Heavy Assault Carrier," the image the CAG wanted popped up, "we need Maxima-class Heavy Cruisers."

"You want to steal them from the First Order?" Terek was impressed. "Alright, we can't do everything, so tell me what I can use, and what four worlds are on your shopping list most. We have a fleet and a half, don't we? We can split them in six, deploy one to each, keep one for Zakuul, one for Kamino."

Terek was spreading them, but not too thinly; equally thinly. "Thoughts?"

The CAG shook their head, "No, I want to steal their plans for that ship. In terms of locations, Yaga Minor and Sluis Van, along with Oon Tien." The CAG brought a notification from a Reige Empire source, "Trec ke Mattino is referred to as a Grand General so that may help with Imperial systems. I think any other places that we want should conducted through diplomatic negotiations, even if it is just for the duration of this conflict." The CAG hoped that this mix of political and military strategy would keep Perator Nadia happy. There had been rumblings ever since Exegol that she had changed.

"Either way, I would like the scouting missions to continue, they would not be a drain on our resources, and the pilots know what they are doing."

"Scouting missions to Yaga Minor, Sluis Van, Oon Tien?" Terek wondered aloud. "As a prelude to negotiations? That's going to take time. Time we may not have, now the Battle of Rothana is over." He was acknowledging the datapad update they'd just been handed. "The Tofs, Nagai and Sun Guard are the dominant factions in the Rim. We should negotiate with one of them, no?"

"And where are we stealing Maxima specs from?"

"No, we need to scout the border to the Mid Rim, while we militarily or diplomatically add planets to this little alliance..." the CAG sighed, "We should get the Perator involved, especially when it involves politics." The CAG opened a line to Zatara, getting the Perator on a private coded channel...along with general information of their plans.

Nadia smiled, "Admiral, General, I see you have grand plans, would you care to explain them to me? Admiral?"

"Shipyard denial," Terek said, swiftly. "We need to scout with our assets and entrench, preferably near Adumar, but also in the south. The Outer Rim is wide open, and it won't just be us doing the same. We've identified the Tofs, Nagai and Sun Guard as major players besides the Yuuzhan Vong."

"We also need to ramp up diplomatic efforts to other systems, because we have a very narrow window while the Battle of Rothana winds down."

The CAG looked to the display, "I also want to scout the Mid Rim border so we know what we're facing. I believe that at some point we will have to pierce that barrier with allies at some point. I am also tired of losing people due to us not staying up to date on our opponents."

Nadia agreed, especially with the last point, "I agree with the scouting to increase our intelligence on the galaxy. I agree with the Shipyard denial, and I can pass word on to Adam's guest to see if some of these locations, especially Yaga Minor and Sluis Van, can be convinced to join us, at least temporarily. Is that how you plan on getting the plans on a Maxima-class cruiser?" she received a nod from the CAG.

"We seem to go after the shipyards, but not resources to build fleets. What are your plans for those locations? Fight, diplomacy, or something else?"

Terek folded his arms, regarded CAG and Nadia. "You tell me. At this stage, we seem to hold for something revolutionary, and playing very cautiously. The Battle of Rothana battered the three largest powers outside the First Order. We're in first place in the Outer Rim and immediate Unknowns. Shouldn't we be pressing that advantage?"

Nadia regarded Rogriss, "Some of it is classified, but we possess nothing revolutionary yet, nor will we. What we are doing is trying to set ourselves up with the best option to bring peace and stability to the galaxy."

Nadia knew that information on the other Outer Rim powers was inadequate, but something needed to be done. "Have you observed anything from the other powers that would help in that goal? Or should we pick planets?"

"I'd rather we had military plans for now." Terek had an idea. "Perhaps we should position forces in the void between systems, to protect them from Tof, Nagai and Sun Guard depredations. That way we're not invading, but we're still protecting those worlds, and are more easily in range. Say.... position a force between Sluis Van, Polis Massa, Nocto, Oon Tien?"

He called up the galactic map. "Utapau would be a handy world to act as an anchorage, or maybe Xagobah and its old fortresses?"

"And you have enough interdictor CC-7700s to cover for that, or do you need some more?" CC-7700 had been critical for doctrine for the past 20 years. "I would like to see who leads at Sluis Van, if possible. However, this seems to be a solid plan for both the North and the South of the galaxy. I assume you will continue information gathering operations in your areas as we are in ours?"

It appeared to the CAG that Perator Nadia seemed to want to prevent continued losses, as they had so far in this conflict. They had already suffered so much.

“Boost us to half a fleet, with Interdictors, so we’re well positioned and provisioned, near Sluis Van?” Terek spoke aloud. “Xagobah is closer to Sluis Van?”

“Permission to intervene at Polis Massa, Sluis Van, Nocto or Oon Tien if either world is attacked?” Terek stroked his moustache. “We could even declare those systems’ independence is going to be secured by us.”

“And what, half a fleet to Yaga Minor?” His eyes glittered at the idea of various deployments.

Nadia nodded, “Granted, now we can not get everything to you immediately, so you will probably have over sized amount of DP-25s, CC-7700s, Pursuit- class Light Cruisers. Quasar Fire, Liberators and the new Assault Frigates are now coming off the line now, so it depends on what you need to fight. Certainly talk to their leaders and let them know. We have sent a message to Adam’s guest to let them know what we are planning and we want to get a message to Reige, so he knows as well. We have offered to cover Bastion and making sure that allies control a vital shipyard.”

Nadia looked to Rogriss, “Start your plans Admiral, we need to take those shipyards…or at least turn them into allies.

    IC: Warlord Gherlid

The aquatic nonhuman took a deep breath, inhaling from a water-filled rebreather.

"Report," he gargled at his mixed species crew. Herglics, Quarren, Gungan, more besides.

"The hyperdrive was hacked at Lexrul," spoke the navigator, a Ho'din -

Gherlid drew his blaster and shot the man. "The next person to tell me something I already know dies."

The bridge stiffened as one, and comments flowed in

"We jumped clear of the galactic halo before we hit a gravity well -"

"All ten Imperial-class Star Destroyers are accounted for -"

"Damage reports suggest we're mostly intact -"

"All fighter craft and troop transports were deployed, so we have neither -"

"Hyperdrives on all ships are down -"

    Gherlid growled. "What gravity well?"

    "The Deep Core, sir."

"That's not outside our galactic halo," Gherlid snarled, pointing his blaster at the Iskaloni -

"The Deep Core of the satellite galaxy, sir -"

Gherlid paused. "Which one. The Rishi Maze? Or Firefist?"

"Firefist, sir, we're presently not far from the central blackhole."

His mind frantically searched across memory. "Firefist. Tofs? Nagai?"

"We're presently inside Tof Space, yes, sir."

    "Chances we've been detected?"

"The flotilla reached out for signals to identify it's location -"

"So yes." Gherlid shook his head. "Everyone knows where we are."

Ten Imperial Star Destroyers. Battered, less fighters and troops, but still the equivalent of half a fleet.

He reflected that this was likely to get far worse before it got better.

"I want to know how many torpedoes we have; how much turbolaser gas we have left; how much fuel; our timescales for hyperdrive repair."

The warlord, who had ruled the northern quadrant for fifteen years as the greatest of the Galactic Warlords, would not go down without a fight.

Even if everyone knew he was here, in this nowhere system.

    TECHNOLOGY OPPORTUNITIES

Koensayr Manufacturers, builders of the Y-wing and K-wing, offer an exclusive contract for their newest heavy bomber to the galaxy - the Koensayr I4 Ioniser. The I-Wing is a third generation bomber, and expected to surpass the K-wing. They want to become the primary supplier in the post-First Order galaxy, offering the contract to any one faction that is willing to commit to breaking the Mid Rim border and liberate Koensayr in the Colonies region.

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/I4_Ionizer_starfighter

This is a chance to win the most advanced bomber in the galaxy.

    ---

Kuat Drive Yards, builders of various Star Destroyers of course, want to get back into starfighter market. They have developed a successor to the A Vigilance series of interceptors; the Jumpstar, and their staff-in-exile are offering an exclusive contract to any one faction who is not the First Order. They consider Rothana a world of theirs, and as such are offering this only to the Tofs and Nagai who came to their aid only.

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Jumpstar_HPF_starfighter

The best offer will win the fastest fighter in the galaxy.

    ---

SoroSuub, originally based on Sullust, has announced development of the BB-2 fighter-bomber, an advanced fighter. The Sullustans wish to negotiate an exclusive contract for the fighter to any faction willing to offer their refugee ships a safe harbour - a set of half a dozen ancient and stripped down Bulwark III-class battlecruisers.

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/BB-2_Starfire_fighter-bomber

The winner of this contract will command the most adaptable starfighter available.

    ---

The Ubrikkian Transports division in the resource-depleted Corporate Sector is offering a novel weapon in war; an air superiority fighter, the Phoebus-class. Having seceded from the Corporate Sector, the company is offering the contract to any faction able to defend their world.

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Phoebos-class_starfighter

    New Ubrikkia
is thus offering the best atmospheric fighter in the galaxy to the warring states.

    ---

The Incom Corporation, based primarily on the Kwenn Space Station on the Outer Rim-Mid Rim border, has offered an exclusive contract for a stealth ship that rivals the old Jedi StealthX’s. This panicked announcement was in response to Emperor Snoke’s claim over the galaxy up to the Mid Rim border; the contract includes a protection clause for Kwenn.

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/RC-2_Twilight_scoutship

The RC-2 Twilight scoutship is unproven, but a powerful tool if it’s function is indeed as Incom advertises. To ‘sweeten’ the deal they’re offering exclusivity to the R-28 starfighter - a cheap and very easy to produce craft that lags behind even current models. But when you can produce two for the cost of a modern fighter...

    FACTION DEVELOPMENTS AND BONUSES

    THE SUN GUARD

The Mon Calamari shipyards developed the ShaShore-class heavy frigate and Crix-class assault shuttle. These are presently exclusively available to the Sun Guard, and represent the most powerful frigate and assault shuttle on the market.

There are rumours of Mon Calamari and Quarren refugees with the designs and willpower to spread them to a faction willing to liberate Ord Bueri, very near Mon Calamari.

The restoration of the Mon Calamari yards offer the research opportunities towards Tri-Scythe assault frigates, the Mediator-class battlecruiser, OR even the Subjugator-class pocket Dreadnought.

    THE NAGAI

The Mandalorian Supremacists have been revealed to be largely made up of Zann Consortium rogues. The Nagai agents led by Nihl have discovered a small beskar lode, Bessie starfighters, and the plans for the Crusader-class tank, which promises to be the most advanced ground vehicle in the galaxy.

Research opportunities; the Keldabe-class battleship, the Vengeance-class stealth frigate OR Aggressor-class Star Destroyer.

    THE TOF

The Tof have a less varied space navy to draw upon, having eschewed bulk cruisers for centuries. The capture of Maccabree however has opened their eyes to wider battle suit droid technology for their pirate marauders, advanced droid starfighters and the development of the Sabertooth-class assault ship, a frigate-sized capture vessel.

Research opportunities include the automated Recusant-class light destroyer, atmospheric droid gunships OR outright battle droid factories.

THE ADUMARI EMPIRE OF THE HAND

The shipyards of Yaga Minor have developed the Ardent-class fast frigate, a new design with swift engines and even swifter guns. Presently only available to the Adumari, it will be the fastest frigate on the market.

There are rumours that Moff Quillan of nearby Jaemus is willing to offer the design to anyone willing to extract him from a hostile population; he has been a First Order mole in the Remnant for decades.

Research opportunities for the Adumari Empire of the Hand include the Eternal Fleet warship, Nova droid troopers OR the Eternal flagship.
