Hello everyone, Google made a change to Chrome yesterday that now identifies all non-https websites as "unsecure". This is ridiculous as there is no reason for a site like this (along with 90% of the internet) to be secure. However, to avoid any misunderstandings the management has kindly spent a considerable sum to provide all of the RS/TFN family of sites with secure certificates. Soon I will begin redirecting all http traffic to the new secure URL but if you wish to use the secure URL now it can be found at : https://boards.theforce.net/ Thanks, let us know if you see any problems Grahame Edit : the redirect is in place, everyone should now see the new URL with the "Secure" or padlock depending on browser.
My Samsung phone, using whatever the default browser is, did just flash up a security certificate message. Gratifying to see you / Comms, already on the ball! Edit: On my PC's Internet Explorer, the https url is bathed in red, a right horror show. Although the certificate's dates are from 2018 to 2020, the message above it is, "This certificate is expired or is not yet valid."
What version of IE? I tried in IE 11 and in MS Edge (the replacement for IE) and it works fine, no errors.
Hmmm, that's a tiny bit older than mine but that shouldn't make a difference. Anyone else with IE seeing this issue??
Simple solution. Dump IE. It's a waste of time. Use a browser that is actually compatible with the modern internet. Google have been *REALLY* pushing https over the past year so not surprised their latest Chrome update is flagging up all non-https websites as "unsecure" lol! Everything looks good on Google Chrome on my PC. Well done.
Feels a bit counter-intuitive that one browser's update should, overnight, make IE "incompatible with the modern internet", and your solution is to adopt the software that caused the issue - the Boards looking compromised - in the first place.
