    my boss' wife got stuck in it on I-26 headed to columbia, visibility was zero. no joke. you stay safe.

    Fun fact: Today was my company’s first day where we were required to come into the office. Thankfully they let us go after lunchtime to work from home.

    Probably getting the remains later tonight around 9/10 (fantastic timing given today's our Minor League club's opening day). Forecasters say the real threat of severe weather here is Thursday.

    We dodged it last night. Just got drizzle. Was supposed to be a completely different story starting at 11 pm last night.

    colorado state university released their annual projection for the atlantic hurricane season. no surprise that it is again for above-average activity - 19 named storms, 9 hurricanes, 4 major hurricanes. they'll update this up through the beginning of the season to adjust to conditions.

    It's officially the Eastern Pacific and Atlantic Hurricane Season. Category 2 Hurricane Agatha slammed into the Pacific Coast of Southern Mexico and now its remnants are threatening to reform in the Gulf, moving in the direction of Cuba and Florida.

    yep, two ones to watch in the caribbean for the east coast. it sounds like the first one will be a named storm and travel due west with a strong steering ridge controlling it, but the one behind could possibly drift north towards the southeast coast.

    the storm in the gulf looks like a rainmaker.

    No Sunday BBQs for North Carolina. A rare Tropical Cyclone formation directly off the Southeastern Coastline of the US. Last one was Fay in 2020 if memory checks. Fortunately this one seems like it will fly out to sea just in time for a dry July 4th.

    This year, we've had two storms cross Central America to become/continue storms on the other side.

    Alex formed from the remnants of Agatha (cue the song, "It was Agatha all along." :p).

    And Bonnie crossed over from the Caribbean to the Pacific.

    an atlantic storm keeping its name as it moves into the pacific is also quite rare. only a dozen since 1950.

    It's been hot here in the Twin Cities, but not humid most days. In fact, most evenings it's quite cool out. That wasn't the case last summer or the summer before that.

    We've had a surprisingly mild and un-humid spring here this year. Temps usually start creeping up into the 80s in May...but it's just this week now that we've hit that mark consistently. We even had a 90 degree day.

    Today is hot and humid.
