Yeah this is a great idea.

    oh and:

"You know, credibility usually comes when you're willing to put your real identity on the line when you make a comment, instead of hiding like a coward behind an anonymous face."

Eh, you're kidding right? It's pretty obvious it's DP, or maybe it's just someone impersonating him, but who'd wanna do that? :p

The same dumb people that take in his crap like candy? I can tell you that it is probably not dp, but it is still fun to toy around with your prey.

i didnt think it was darthy. rather i was thinking it was some E-X chump that has a grudge against the JC and TF.N because they banned him and ripped his little ego to shreds.

i guess it could have been darthy, but still, he doesnt seem to be a fan of posting.

A relatively open exchange of information. What a novel concept. ;) :D

One of these days I'm going to post that Speedo pic, just to be done with it. This place will never be the same after that! :p

This is why I keep coming back. This is much better than daytime soaps.

jas, it hasn't been the same since the first time people saw it. ;)

I think these update threads should be dated with the week # - for example, this week (2/17-2/23) is Week 8 of the year 2002. This particular thread, then, should be entitled Weekly news from Mod Squad, Week 7 as it details events from last week.

And no, I'm not particularly serious about this suggestion, though I suppose it would be viable.

But calling the first installment "Week 7" will have people scrambling to find threads containing the news for Weeks 1-6, which don't exist.

Why don't you just call this week's news "Week 1" instead?

Oh, jas, I'll remember that for the next scavenger hunt! ;)

Because "Week 1" would be the first week of the year. For this year, it's technically 12/30/2001-1/5/2002.

It's only Week 1 based on your system. Since this is the first week they have posted news, it's perfectly logical to refer to this as Week 1.

and why not make the week one start at the first week of 1AD or something similar? hence we would be up to week x-thousand

besides, if we have week # every year, then you have to point out the year in the title, because you will be starting from scratch again in the next year.

its easier to just say the week of 18 Feb to 25 Feb.

but i think people might have missed Jeremyguys point:
"And no, I'm not particularly serious about this suggestion"

It would probably serve everyone better just to make a thread in announcements, then edit in a link to each new "newsletter" thread as they are created. It isn't worth the time or effort to number them, especially when the date is in the title.

Whatever. I'm sure you've got the full story on both aco****s, so I'll leave you to your own fantasies of my internet grandeur and my apparent free agent sign and trade deal for a user to be named later. Just because I've avoided this forum for the past few days up until now, doesn't mean my posting habits have changed at either place. If you want to fault me for volunteering to drop out of the drama at both sites, then I'm glad you have the time on your hands to worry about such things.

Well, you comment's been edited, so this probably makes little sense, but I'll go ahead and post it to help give your life continued meaning. Lord knows I have better things to do, like play minesweeper or stare at a wall, then to be concerned about what you think of me.

Seb, I don't think numbering the titles would be hard, especially as you just have to refer to the number from the previous week. Then again, you're probably right about not needing it since it's shown in the title the date.

Good idea suggesting the creation of a weekly news roundup, farraday! And thanks to the mods for following through with it :)

As far as naming each installment, the current format, with the date as it is in the title, looks fine imo.

So are you suggesting that this is the only year containing a February 18th to February 25th and we won't have to start from scratch on the dating next year? ;) :D

They should just use imaginary numbers to number them, like eleventeen.
