Anyone seen this on the news??

I saw news footage at lunchtime and they were pretty amazing images, although it sounds like the whale could be in trouble if it doesn't get back into the Ocean soon.
I hope everything works out okay but it's going to be difficult.

It is Steve. Hope he's OK eventually, I'm obviously undereducated, I didn't know that the Thames was deep enough for a whale.

It isn't, they reckon that is why people have seen wounds at the tail end.
I hope the whale gets out okay, me and the missus were watching the news about it later and praying it will make it out safe.

I haven't heard what it's officially been called but my suggestion would be Billy, Willy's brother ;)

Jokes aside, the news I heard this morning wasn't too good :(
It's still going the wrong way and at midday it could really struggle because of the tide. There is a chance it could be ill and has decided to beach itself rather then drown, but that's just speculation.

Here's a BBC news report for people to see:Lost Whale

Yeah, BBC News has it here. Poor fellow. It's probably for the best if he was sick though.

    Very sad news :(

I think it was actually quite a young Whale too and I don't know if it died through stress or illness. It was a catch-22 situation I feel; if they hadn't helped it, it probably would have continued going the wrong way and beach itself, if they tried to help it out to sea there was always the risk of over-stressing the poor guy. But then again it could have been ill anyway, hence the reason why it came inland originally.

    A sad ending....

    Yes :(

But I'm glad to see an animal making front-page news, and to see the government spending a lot of money on rescuing it, £100,000 I believe this rescue cost.
It took half of London's emergency services to assist that Whale, in the end it was for nothing

    But I'm glad they tried
