What age level would you like the JC to be aimed at?

Are you happy with the JC currently being aimed at young kids and families, would you like it to have more leeway with minor swear words and innuendo, or to go the way of the Slacker Council (A very adult board)?

 

I refuse to vote because it should be aimed for all age groups, from pre-teens to adults. (Though I may not agree with it, SW is a multi-generational movie).

I say teens because that is what seems to be the majority of people who post here. I actually find it rather pointless to aim this board at pre-teens since in order to sign up you must supply your age and it must be over 13. Now, I know there are pre-teens that post here, but they should be aware, since they had to lie about their age to get on here, that it is a more adult board.
However, there is such a thing as going to far, as well. I DO NOT agree with a free-for-all type forum, which is how most forums I have visited are. There is such a thing as a happy medium. Allow adult topics and conversations to go on, as long as they are worded in clean and polite language.

The admins should judge whether a topic is ok by the nature of the discussion, not it's topic. For instance, people can have a prefectly mature conversation about...say...the pros and cons of staying a virgin until marriage. Or they can use the thread to post excruciating details about the pros of sex (if you get my meaning).

At least that would be my idea of a perfect forum policy.

 

I agree with what ShadowChaser said, and am withholding my vote on that basis. I think that a board can be mature and adult, but still be suitable and accessible for teens. In the end, it comes down to being able to maintain a sense of community and fun, but at the same time foster courtesy and respect. When the JC can do this, it will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

Well, is anyone out there actually offended by the use of the words "damn" and "hell" in Star Wars?

It should be aimed at adults and mature teens but appropriate for almost anyone 13 and up.

 

I am only 15 but I am just as much of a fan as some people I know in their 20's
I would much rather not dumb down the JC for teeny boppers. I don't wanna see topics filled with words like "kewl, u, etc.." and tons of stupid smileys

Minor swearing should be allowed, as should polite discussions of mature subjects. The SC is a little too risque for my taste though.

Everyone, in the spirit of the movies. Which means the younger crowd needs to act mature. The trolling and flaming is more a problem than the language

 

I reckon it should be universal. After all, Star Wars is for everybody, so I reckon the JC should be, too.

I agree with wild_karrde. I think we should be allowed to talk about basically anything, but at the same time, I do not want to see it go the way of the SC .
