What age level would you like the JC to be aimed at?

I think it sould be teens AND 20+ because we can't get offended easy and some of the littler kids (not all, just some) can.

 

I think there should be more lenience for swear words, some adult discussion (not pr0n, mind you, but homosexuality, religion, etc.).

 

Ideally, I'd like to see it aimed at the 20-40 range. But it's so difficult to guarantee a person's age in here. The easiest way someone weeds themselves out is through their behavior. For me, when I see cursing and attacks against other members I typically assume they're younger members. This isn't to say that older folks aren't like that. I just feel that once you hit a certain age, your command of the English language is such that you don't need to resort to those levels to be heard in a sea of people.

The JC should be aimed at me. It doesn't matter what age I am, as long as I am happy. That is the job of the rest of you.

I said twenty-plus, but that was before I read the second post. It has nothing to do with swear words... in fact, my reasoning was the opposite. I would like a mature, non-vulgar level of discussion, in which younger people are welcome to participate as long as they remember that the locker room is back in school.

 

I said teens, but I realize that some teens aren't mature enough to handle themselves. I think mature teens to 20+... mature not always meaning age

Teens and up. You can get porn somewhere else and you'll live not being able to curse. I mean, if you want 'mature, intellectual discussion' you should be mature and intellectual enough to have a handle on the english language beyond cussing.

I feel it should be aimed at mature persons. However, I'd say it already is. I realised how wonderful the JC was when I went off to find some Harry Potter message boards and since most of the posters there are young teens or preteens... aii... I left quick smart. there were 2 much takling liek dis n it drove me insane.

I don't mind the use of mild swear words, but I say keep it to a minimum. I'd say not using swear words makes you more mature anyway.

So.. yeah, mature teens and up.

I'd have to go with teens... I've asked around, the boards are mostly HS and college students... well, the hard core boards

 

Over 20. Hard to prove, but it would be nice to have serious, mature discussions without worrying about offending kiddies. That's not always possible now.

20+, it's easier to moderate when you have a more clearly defined audience.

 

I voted for 20+, however I will add, I think everyone should be and for the most part is, welcome here, if you would like to participate in an R rated discussion, go and find one.....rumor has it, they are out there! Now, I do think there is a fine line determining what is and is not PG, and I do not envy the mods in the task they have all elected to take on......

I do not believe I have ever made a more ambiguous statement than the one I have just made here....... (and no swear words)

 

i am 17 but i have the maturity of a 20+ yr old so it would not be an issue if the boards went the way of the slackers council. i knw what i can and cannot take, and i leave if it gets to be too much for me, thats all

The JC should be kept clean. There is enough garbage in the world already and no need for such here.

 

I voted 20+ only cause it's the closest to what I'd aim the JC at... I'd aim it at the 16+ range but make it a welcome place for all fans of Star Wars.

 

Well, I'd say teens, but it mostly already is.
