myzone headphones commercial, it's pretty great. there's this guy and his kids are fighting and he's like, "argh! my kids are fighting and i can't do anything about it but i really want to watch this tv program!" then it cuts to him later and he's just blissfully ignoring his children while he listens to the tv in his new "myzone headphones".

Los Angeles Lakers: Drama, guaranteed.

 

Finished The Right Stuff earlier. For a film about the early space program that was apparently critically acclaimed at the time, it has a hell of a lot of problems. Chuck Yeager being almost irrelevant for 3/4's of the film despite being the focus of the first half hour or so. The long run time makes it so it doesn't really pick up until after 90 minutes. The cinematography was pretty lazy. The whole thing feels like a 3-hour montage of events rather than something with an actual plot. The audience doesn't get to know much about the 7 men except for snippets (mainly Shepard, Grissom, Glenn, and the less well known guy Dennis Quaid played)-- for example, John Glenn's wife has some sort of speech impediment or social anxiety that's unspecified within the film and explored almost not at all, except we're supposed to care when she doesn't want to appear on TV with Lyndon Johnson. It's alright, but I was hoping for "AMAZING." I suspect that the person running the production wanted to be slavishly faithful to the book, and nonfiction books can afford to have looser narratives with less-developed "characters" than a film can.

At least there's a Jeff Goldblum/Harry Shearer duo!

a moment ago i was watching myself watching portal 2 being played as i was playing portal 2.

 

I have enjoyed this movie for the most part hough I am well aware that the author of the novel was very unhappy with is specifically concerning the heat between the engineers and astronauts which was nonexistant in real life.

I am watching Mad Max, the non-dubbed Australian version.

I'm on the second part of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, The Girl Who Played with Fire. If I've learned anything from these films, it's that Sweden is one ****ed up place and it makes me want to play Skyrim.
