Definatly it was the best movie in 2001, how did A Beautiful Mind win best picture?? (at least a lot of others are getting tired of the oscers and turning it off)

the Two towers will be the second best picture at least this year, there is almost no way it can be better than spider-man. However I'll judge after I see AotC if it will be third or not.

Great film. I liked most of the stuff from the book that was edited out but I very much disliked the Lothlorien scene. They didn't do a real good job with it at all.

I HATED it, and I didn't think I would. I found it boring and I almost fell asleep halfway through, though I was trying to like it. The battle scenes were too 'intense' too see anything that was going on, and, as I'm not exactly Toklien's no;1 fan, the characters were confusing (I couldn't tell the difference between Aragorn and Boromier, for example).

Please don't mock me (no, really, please don't) but I found it very dull and not at all as good as eveyone thinks it is.

Loved it alot: But; I think that TTT will be better. (It was a cooler book, IMO)

TTT is when all the really cool stuff happened. But; When I watched LOTR, FOTR, I knew that the other 2 could be only better.! So its looking up for me. Only some 100 days left or so. maybe 90 now.

I think i almost would have enjoyed it more if i hadn't read the book in a way - i wouldn't have been so irritated by the things they fiddled with.... Am i the only person who thinks Merry and Pippin just weren't right - they aren't really practical jokers in the book at all. And does Peter have something against Glorfindel or something..... why was he cut? and Tom Bombadil! And the characters were underdeveloped - and people complain about SW..... honestly....

Don't get me wrong - i liked it as a film, but not really as LOTR, if that makes any sense. It was just a fantasy story about destroying a ring rather than 'LOTR'.

I saw the movie before I read the books and I really enjoyed it.

Then I read The Hobbit and FOTR. And then I saw the movie again. I enjoyed the movie so much after that! It was as if I saw a new movie, there were so many things I haven't noticed.

One of the best of the year!

The Gandalf falling with Gandalf part was even more heartbreaking then the Shmi-anakin scene. I just can't wait for ROTK man. I mean Ganalf whooping butt, Shelob, Battle in Mordor, I really can't wait to see the dvd too. Best movie of the year.

    What are you people smoking???

Are you insane? Tolken didn't know anything about writing. His books were a disgrace to literature, And the movie was even worse. It was a boring, corny, pathetic, wasteful two hours of hugging and one hour of eye-candy. (By the way, the graphics wern't even that good, so eye-candy is an inappropriate term)

Someone had better go tell Amazon.com to remove The Lord of the Rings as the best 'book' of the 20th century, now that it's a disgrace to literature and all. Eh, Shadoloo?

    I voted for option 2.
It was nice, but not as AOTC. Why? Star Wars has an inner coherence that The Fellowship of the Rings doesn't have, i.e. Star Wars message is stronger!

Best movie of 2001. One of the top 10 best movies ever, IMHO.

I thought I'd hate it because I'm not much into fantasy, but it was incredible. Now I'm finally reading the books. :)

Best film ever, as far as I'm concerned. Ah, those fights in Moria really reminded me of my days as a D&D geek. And since I'm not a purist (coupled with the fact that I think FOTR is Tolkien's weakest book, so I really enjoyed PJ's changes) made me enjoy the movie even more! Until today I'm still stunned by it. Ended up watching it 10 times (the last two was to watch the one with the TTT preview).

Now bring on TTT and Eowyn! [face_love] [face_love] [face_love]

    :D
