What do they teach at the Jedi Academy?

I didn't read the JAT, YJK, or JJK, but I'm just curious what and how do they teach Jedi adepts?

Is it like structured like our school, or is it more loosely organized?

How and when do they learn specific Force techniques, powers, and skills?

How did this work in the JA series?

 

Chrashology and smooshing.

 

It probably has a loose, flexible schedule, where students learn a little bit of everything, from saber techniques to whatever jedi lore is known...

It's a very loose structure. Basically, the students learn how to touch the Force, saber combat, and so on, until they're 12. Then, they are taken as Padawan Apprentices by Jedi Knights or Masters, who continue their tuition until they feel that the student is ready to take the trials to become a Jedi Knight.

 

Do they learn math, english, science, and basketweaving?

 

I think they learn something about science at least because in VP Jaina says to Anakin something along the lines of 'good thing you listened in science lesson at the acadamy'

 

And the fact they have a discussion about how to evaporate whatchamacallit until it hit absolute zero. I can't even remember the name of the moon/planet at the moment. I think it was the one near Baskadan or something.

 

That was Helska 4 (and you're thinking of Belkadan, not Baskadan!)

 

In the NR and NJO, do they still use, the 12 then Padawan thing? I know Luke was Jacen's Master, Mara Jaina's and as for Anakin and Tahiri I don't have a clue.

That can't be right. Jacen and Jaina weren't even at the academy until they were thirteen. Neither were taken as apprentices until they were sixteen.

 

the_power_within Anakin was also the padawan of Luke.
